So as you may know Glymm has shut down and taken many peoples money with them. Subscribers are left in an awkward positions of fighting to get their money back from their credit card companies.
For those of you who were members in the last four months, Nail Polish Canada is offering a $25 value box to you for free.
So we put together a FREE $25 value box for those who got ripped off by Glymm.
All people need to do is email us proof that they were a Glymm subscriber and they get a coupon code for the free box.
This is mostly just a way for us to give back to the beauty community. If your reader wants just the box and nothing else from the site that's fine, they'll only pay a $3 shipping charge (or they can add the box to their order and get free shipping).
Full details are here: http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/products/glymm.html
It looks like it is quite a good box with :
1 x Choice of: China Glaze Shocking Pink, Nova (silver glitter), or Towel Boy Toy (blue)
1 x China Glaze For Audrey (best selling China Glaze ever!)
1 x Color Club In Theory
1 x White Nail File

I hope this helps anyone who was put in an bad mood from Glymm's shifty behaviour
ASEphora was having a 15% off week for VIBs this past week.
I picked up an EyeKo Trio of Skinny Mini liners (blue, brown and black) for $23, an Eyeko Skinny liner in Back for a friend (she adores these so much she sent me back for another) for $19. I got CaudalÃe Beauty Elixir in 100 ml for $49. Finally I got a Nars Blush in Super Orgasm with 3.5 g for $15 (actually a good deal since the full size is only a small amount bigger and much more costly)
David's Tea is a favourite of mine, I seem to have formed a large collection of their teas over the last year. My friend Melissa from Melissa's Musings recommended some teas on her blog recently (check out the post here), they spoke to me and to be honest Melissa has never steered me wrong.
I picked up Organic Le Digestif tea (for my post meal full belly) and Mother's Little Helper (org) for my restless nights ( I am crazy stressed out right now and sleep is not something I am getting too much of right now).
I found these at the clear-out section of a Shoppers the other day, $2 each. Since I already have 3 shades I thought I would take the time to get some more.
I finally got my hands on the Quo Butterfly Brush Collection. 8 brushes and a bag. I love my butterflies (papillons).
At Aveda I picked up my favourite hand cream of all time, Hand Relief. Pricey at $28 but worth every penny (can I still say that now that we don't have pennies?). I also grabbed their limited edition Light the Way Candle for $13. Every cent of the purchase price goes to charities to help keep water safe and clean around the world. It smells great too.
Lastly, at Shopper's Drug Mart I got a double pack of Marcelle wipes. I got the Hydra-c Wipes and the I-Bronze wipes in a pack together for just $5 (my shoppers is crazy some times with these deals).
Thanks to Sparkled Beauty I got my hands on three of the items from the new Essence Vintage District Collection. There are 2 shadows, a lipstick/lipgloss duo, a gel liner set, nail art set and three polishes in the collection. Nothing costs more then $3.49 in the collection and the sizes are quite large.
Vintage District Blush in
02 It's Popul-Art

with the overspray
Without the overspray. Look at that pink!
Vintage District Gel Eyeliner Set in
01 Shopping @ Portobello Road

Swatched on my (very dry) hand.
Vintage District Lipstick and Lipgloss in
01 Vintage Peach

Lipgloss 3 ml

I know Essence collections can be hard to find, but if you can try to get your hands on these products. They are cheap, have great pigmentation and fantastic colours. I originally didn't know the blush had a pink under it, but man I just love it more now.
You can find Essence at Shoppers Drug Marts across Canada and a their site
April is Earth Month and Aveda Canada has lots planned to give Mother Earth a helping hand. There is the 24-hour cut-a-thon on Earth Day, April 22, where stylists across the world at various Aveda salons will participate to rase money and attempt to make a wold record for Guniess Records. There is the amazing candle they are selling, which every penny spent will go to protecting clean water (and it is made of reclaimed glass and only $13 in Canada). There is even their I Walk For Water event that raises money for WaterCan.
Other ways Aveda is helping is by teaching us ways to make our second and third day (or even fourth or fifth day) hair look fantastic. Thus reducing water consumption (and making us look fab).
I had my second day hair styled at the CIVELLO Salon in Toronto by Aveda Creative Director Kristjan Hayden. Here is what I learned.
EASY DIY SOLUTIONS:
Featuring Aveda Canada Creative Director, Kristjan Hayden
SUPER STRAIGHT Flatiron your hair straight and sleek. As seen at: Derek Lam, Emilio Pucci, Lacoste, Marios Schwab, Micheal Kors, Saint Laurent THE WET LOOK Wet your hair with product and slick back. As seen at: Jason Wu, Christopher Raeburn, Giambattista Balli, Haider Ackerman THE LOW BUN Pull your hair back and secure in a low ponytail. Use a comb to smooth any bumps before twisting your ponytail into a bun and securing with an elastic band. As seen at: Erdem, Givenchy, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Valentino, Versace THE LOW PONY Sleek ponytails secured at the nape. As seen at: Alexander Wang, Chloe, Dior, Etro ADD VOLUME (3 ways) Spray volumizer in roots and blow dry. (Try: Aveda Pure Abuncance Style Prep) Crimp roots under the part for added texture and fullness Use Velcro rollers with Air Control hairspray. Heat and set with a blowdryer and diffuser
So what did Kristjan have planned for me? Well I got a low bun.
First he took my slightly greasy and flat hair and sprayed some Aveda Pure Abundance Style-Prep and sprayed it onto my roots to tame my oil and add some much needed volume. He then blasted it with the hair dryer to get even more volume going.
Then he took the flat iron to my hair and created some curls.
Bam, Curls! The then placed my hair in a low pony tail and teased away, apparently you can not tease enough when creating this look.
He tucked it under and created a bun by pinning it into place.
And here is the finished look. Meredith from Et Tu And You was there and here was her beautiful hair created by Kristjan.
So what I took away from this is that I do not need freshly washed hair to get a fantastic do. I also learned that second day hair is probably best anyways for any type of up do. Oh and I should go get a crimping iron some time soon.

Part of my crazy Target haul last week was this fantastic brush set from Sonia Kashuk. It cost $15 (cad/usa) and contains 4 brushes and a case.
Achieve an effortless smokey eye in four easy steps with this paint by numbers brush set, complete with step-by-step how-tos from Sonia Kashuk. Each brush is crafted for a specific use to make it quick and effortless. Apply a wash of dense, all-over color with #1 Lid Brush, then use #2 Crease Brush, an angled flat top brush, for added depth in the crease. Next, use #3 Lash Line, a thin, angled flat top liner brush, in a rocking motion along the lash line for intense, smokey pigmentation. Finally add precise definition at the lower lash line with #4 Smudge, a pointed, dense bristle brush. -target.com
So far I am finding them super soft and they don't really shed at all. The case actually quite nice for holding the brushes and has a nice big mirror inside it as well as some instructions for creating a smokey eye.

Overall I am extremely happy with this box....4 full sized items, items with makeup and colour to them. Skin care that is amazing and a hair mask. This is exactly the type of box I want every month.
I'm super excited to try out the youth code serum, I love the original serum so to try out this one is exciting. While I do not tan nor do I like a tanned look I can definitely find a good home for the Jergins,. My hair has been fried lately and it needs a good mask. Modelco lip/cheek tint looks amazing and I adore all lip stains.
If you are interested in getting a glossybox use the code Glossy55 to get 10% off.
