Beauty Vixen

I've been a huge fan of Target for years and have been a loyal shopper of theirs since they came to Canada just shy of two years ago. Sadly they are leaving Canada now and I took this opportunity to buy up lots of stuff before saying goodbye forever.

First off I've been going to Target about once a month since they opened and while stock might have always been low, I somehow couldn't get out of there without spending about $100 each time. This time I've gone above and beyond and spent about $450 over three visits picking up items on clearance. Much of the stuff is clothing and household (my weakness) but today I'll stick with the makeup products.
All the makeup was 30% off when I went, now it seems to be 40% off.

Sonia Kashuk Eye On Neutral 02 Matte Palette: AT $19.99 this is a bit of a pricy drug store deal (I feel SK falls into drugstore, high end drug store like Physicians Formula) but well worth it. I got one in the summer and fell in love with it. I love mattes for work, I never get shimmer fall out if there is no shimmer. I though I had to get a back up and one for my pal Melissa.

This palette is also great for brows, it even has a black and grey shade in it.

Sonia Kashuk Chick Luminosity Highlighter Stick in  Persian Sunset: This stick is a bit dark for a highlighter on me but I am sure I can make it work. It was regularly $11.99

Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Foundation Stick in Alabaster: This was $11.99 as well regular price and well it is the palest of pale shades so I thought I'd better get it. I am so darn pale other pale sticks I've gotten have been too dark so it might make a great mix-in shade if it turns out to be too light.

Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer in Porcelain: Yep once again a pale choice. It was $9.99 regular so I thought, why not? It is definitely a good choice for my skin tone. It also has a slightly softer whipped texture than you might expect  for a potted concealer.

Sonia Kashuk Velvety Matte Lip Crayon in Berry Red: This is supposedly like the Nars lip pencils. Who knows I just like the shade.

Sonia Kashuk Pearlessnce Long-wear Cream Eyeshadow in Diamond: This is a cream to powder type eyeshadow with a  doe-foot.

Pixi Illuminating Tint and Conceal: I've wanted this for two years now, TWO YEARS! Ever since I attended the Pixi Brunch for Beauty Bloggers in 2013 I wanted it. I fell in love with it. But couldn't justify $24 on it. Actually I fell in love with a few Pixi products that day, went out and payed way too much for them ($21 and $18 for concealers at a store like Target is too much, they must have thought so too because the prices on the concealers I bought dropped by 40% shortly after I forked out the cash).

Any how at 30% off I bought this tinted moisturizer with a concealer in its cap, went home and opened it only to find it expires in August of this year. Sigh, I looked the box over, no expiry date on the outside and it is sealed with stickers. So I guess I made a bad choice in getting it.

Just noting I love Pixi, but think they need to put expiry dates on the boxes and need to either lower their prices overall or up the packaging quality to equal the cost.

I also picked up two Sonia Kashuk brush sets.
One was a 5 set and one a 4. These might be the 4th and 5th sets I've gotten since they launched here. I really like the quality and low low prices. They were $12.99 and $15.99 each before the discounts.

There we go, my last Target haul in Canada. I hope you liked it, was there anything you got?

Part of my crazy Target haul last week was this fantastic brush set from Sonia Kashuk. It cost $15 (cad/usa) and contains 4 brushes and a case.
Achieve an effortless smokey eye in four easy steps with this paint by numbers brush set, complete with step-by-step how-tos from Sonia Kashuk. Each brush is crafted for a specific use to make it quick and effortless. Apply a wash of dense, all-over color with #1 Lid Brush, then use #2 Crease Brush, an angled flat top brush, for added depth in the crease. Next, use #3 Lash Line, a thin, angled flat top liner brush, in a rocking motion along the lash line for intense, smokey pigmentation. Finally add precise definition at the lower lash line with #4 Smudge, a pointed, dense bristle brush. -target.com
So far I am finding them super soft and they don't really shed at all. The case actually quite nice for holding the brushes and has a nice big mirror inside it as well as some instructions for creating a smokey eye.

To learn more about the brushes, Target's American site might help, click here.
