Beauty Vixen

I thought I would do something a little different today and show you what I picked up at David's Tea, Superstore and Starbucks recently.

I am a big tea fan with a large tea collection as well as many tea pots and cups...I have issues. Just like with beauty stuff, the holiday collections always get me when it comes to tea.
Eithne over at Tea & Nail Polish posted about holiday goodies at David's Tea, which made me run right to my closest store (very close it seems) and buy some stuff.
First off was an Element tea for one set. I've been gifted tea for one sets in the past and always found them a let down, the pot barley has enough water in it to fill the cup and they look very meh. I instantly feel in love with he look of this tea, white and gold set. Not only can the pot hold lots of water (perfect for a refill), it also has a strainer so your tea can be loose. I also love how the lid fits on top when not using it. It is going to look cute near my snowman tea pot and cherry blossom tea pot.
The next think I had to have was a pouch that contained all 5 winter tea flavours in tea bags. It was $10 and I really liked the little pouch, that is really why I got it.
The only other thing I really want from David's is the Gold Perfect Spoon and Strainer, but they don't seem to be in stores yet.
Next up is from the Superstore /Loblaws. They seem to have adorable elf, santa and reindeer tea products right now (cups, pots, plates) at really reasonable prices. I went because Eithne posted on her instagram a pic of a Rise & Shine mug. Now those of you that have known me a long time might remember my cat Shine who passed away in 2011. Well you can see why I wanted the mug. I also saw a bunch of cute winter themed mugs for $3.75 each. I got 4 with the plans of filling them with broken up gift sets for some family members (hopefully I'll do a post on the end results so stay tuned).
Finally at Starbucks I got a fox mug. I have too many fox mugs (how many is too many? let me know in the comments) , and one that is actually similar, but I had to have this one. It was pricy at $18.95, but Starbucks makes nice mugs, and after all I am Ms. Fox.
So there you go. Do you like holiday tea/coffee items like these?

The pre-holdiday season hits us, I go shopping crazy with all the sales. Here are some of my most recent purchases.
First off was Bath and Body Works. I went there because I had a spend $30 save $10 coupon and their candles were buy one get one free. I ended up getting a Cheers Candle (mulled wine) and a Twisted Peppermint (forgetting I had one from last year I have never used once). I also got Suncrisp Apple Harvest body wash because is was 50% off. When it was all said and done my bill was $20.50 before tax, a pretty good deal if you ask me. I plan on using the body was as hand soap and giving one of the candles away (check a gift off my holiday list).

Next up was David's Tea. I really love tea, David's in particular. I have so many that I have declared that I am not allowed any more tea. I did cave and bought this Advent Calendar for $40. I decided the way it was layed out with the drawers and the mini tins that next year I can go into the store and buy 24 10g seasonal teas and refill it. That way I wont be wasteful with all the packaging (plus it was the only way I could actually justify the purchase). I also got the hubby a Purdy's Advent Calendar that looks the same for $25(you can check it out here), it also will be refilled next year.

I went to Murale (owned by Shoppers Drug Mart) and redeemed my points for the holly grail of holiday beauty products.....
Yep, the Guerlain Meteorites Flacons Enchantes

I got the last one. It was hidden in the counter and I had to ask for it. I was very happy. I love the snow and winter details to it. Oh and of course the beautiful meteorites with their little stars in them. The husband thought the stars and meteorites were cute together since they both are night sky items.
I also picked up the Nars and Steven Klein collaboration Despair Cheek Palette. I personally know I need no more blush, but I was cashing in all my points and decided why not get it since I got a blush palette the last two years from Nars' holiday collections.
On to the big one...Sephora.
Sephora had their annual VIB Rouge event and sale, where VIB Rouges get to attend a private shopping party and get 20% off their purchases as well as a gift bag.
I really don't think I went nuts, but I did buy some stuff

First off the Bite Mauvember lipstick (see my review here). I love this baby, I am so glad I got it.
Becca Glow on the Go set. This has a mini  Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight and Pressed in Opal. They are a bit smaller than I thought, but a good deal none the less. No regrets here, I really wanted to try some Becca out.

Speaking of Becca, I also got the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Glow Palette. This features Jaclyn Hill's Champagne Pop as well as two other shades. As I said, I wanted to try some Becca out.
Buxom Look All You Want. I got this for $50 minus my 20% and was ecstatic. I got a Buxom custom palette a few months back and have yet to really dig into it, but love it. For the same cost I got this great palette in a limited edition case, a mini mascara and full sized liner. Great deal and very pretty colours.
I needed brush cleaners, so trying out the Cinema Secrets Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleaner Pro Starter Kit seemed like a great idea.

I keep on hearing good things about Sephora Collection products and have yet to really give them a try, so I got Sephora Collection Color Reveal Lip Balm.  It is supposed to be a self adjusting lipstick.

This Sephora Cat Nap sleep mask is really cute. I wanted a new sleep mask after my other one got a little too dirty during the move. It is really thick and it is just too cute, crazy cat lady in me couldn't resist it.

The goodie bag. This bag was a great freebie. Sephora really showed us a good time with food and drinks at the event., but this bag was just the icing on the cake.
Oh and did I mention I renewed my VIB Rouge status for another year? Yeah, that happened. I am proud to say I did not do it on my own, I have friends who like me to get them stuff at these sales, which really helps rack in the qualifying dollars. But as I renewed it I got this adorable Marc Jacobs Exclusive mini red lipstick.

I also redemed 500 points for this Urban Decay palette and eyeliner.

So that is it, my gigantic seasonal haul. I did get some pretty good deals so I know I didn't spend too much at least. Did you get anything at the VIB Sale?

I have lots and lots of goodies from this month that I used up.
Ombra Spa Aromatherapy Foambath: I got this from a client last christmas. It lasted quite a while and created a really nice bath. Nice bubble and great lavender smell. Would I buy it again?  Yes, I really like this bubble bath, you don't need to much for a great bath.
L'oreal EverStrong Conditioner: I love this conditioner, it is rich and does a great job of repairing my damaged hair. It also smells great. Would I buy it again? Yes, once I use up some of my existing conditioners I will pick this up again.
Aveda Pure Abundance Shampoo: I got this sample a while back, and while I don't have oily hair I did find this was a great shampoo. Would I buy it again? Would I buy it again?  Probably not, I like the Shampure a bit more and since I don't have oily hair it isn't the best choice anyways.
The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body Butter:  I had to toss this one, it stated to smell off. Would I buy it again? I would buy their body butters again, but sadly the Sweet Lemon line was discontinued so I can't buy it again.
The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Wash:  I polished off this little guy off fast. Would I buy it again? Yes, Satsuma is a favourite of mine, but I have a few more bottles in my stash before I can buy more.
Beauty So Clean Brush Cleaner in Gingerbread and Candy Cane: I got these a long time ago, and finally chose to start using them up. I really liked how they cleaned my brushes and how good they smelt after being clean. Would I buy it again? Yes, I quite liked them, maybe next IMATS I'll get more.
ELF Studio Daily Brush Cleaner: This has been hanging on my shelf forever. I never really liked the bottle and I didn't personally love the stuff. Would I buy it again? No, it is now sold in a much smaller bottle. I would be better off just putting rubbing alcohol and some water in a squirt bottle.
Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush: I got this in a Glossy box, and well hated it. The stick wasn't actually attached into anything and just bounced around. It was waxy and smelled bad. It was time to toss it. Would I buy it again? NO!!!
ELF Studio HD Powder: I finally used this up! I have had it for years and years. It really was two containers put together so I feel the feat is even more impressive. Would I buy it again?  Yes, I recently purchased the yellow version of it. It is a great product at a very good price.
ELF Studio Flawless Finish Foundation: I loved this and so when I used my old one up I bought it again, well this one is yellow. I guess it got old really fast since I haven't even had it a year. I am pretty mad at how yellow it is really. Would I buy it again? No, I am not waisting my time with it again, which is a shame since my first bottle was so great.
B Kamins Maple Body Lotion: I got this in a glossy box and chose to toss it into my purse. It got used up really fast that way. It wasn't big but it was a nice lotion. Would I buy it again? No, it was pricy and I wouldn't know where to buy it now.
ELF Mascara: I got this at a dollarama for my $20 makeup challenge. It actually is good, but it became hard so it was time to toss it. Would I buy it again? Yes, both the waterproof and regular sides are really good and it is cheap.
Benefit That Gal: I got this tiny tube in a set a long time ago. It makes for a great illuminating primer. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have another little tube that I opened when this one was finished.
Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Spa Masque: I love these mud sheet masks, it really makes spoiling myself mess free. Would I buy it again? YES! I have some more on standby but I think I will always buy some MJ masks, they are great.
Tea time!
I finished off a bunch of David's Teas, I love tea.
Goji Pop: I like this as an iced tea Would I buy it again? Maybe, while I really liked it the hubby just didn't so I might not buy more since I like to share pitchers of tea.
Organic Cold 911: This is my favourite tea when I get sick. Would I buy it again?  Yes, I already got a big tin of it and I plan on keeping this travel one and bringing it to work with me next time I get sick.
Birthday Cake: This is a great tea if you have a sweet tooth. I like making a latte with it Would I buy it again?   Yes, I already got another large tin of it.
Cherry Blossoms: This was a sweet but tasty tea that was nice in the colder months Would I buy it again? yes, I think it was a seasonal tea so I might have to wait a while.
Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait: I don't like rhubarb, not one bit, but the hubby loves it, and he loves this as an iced tea. Would I buy it again? Yes, I already got him a big tin of it, so he is happy.
Cream of Earl Grey:  I like Earl Greys ok, not a ton, but the hubby loves it. So in order for me to continue purchasing teas for me I buy him teas. It is a fair trade off. He likes this as a London Fog (latte) Would I buy it again? Maybe, I got him another tin this size, when we are done that we might just switch to regular Earl Grey since he likes it more.

Oh it is time again for EMPTIES!!
While not my largest empties post, this one has a bit of goodies in it.
Aveda Shampure Conditioner: I got this about two years ago and just really took my time using it up. It is a great conditioner. Would I buy it again? Maybe something else, I need a stronger conditioner in my life.
L'oreal EverCrème Cleansing Conditioner: I've been using this stuff for quite a while. It really is a holly grail item for me. Would I buy it again? YES!!!!
Aveda Pure Abundance Conditioner: This conditioner sample is great for oily hair or those seeking volume, I having dry hair, did not love it. Would I buy it again? No, not really meant for my hair type.
The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Shower Gel: I loved this scent, citrus and fresh. It was discontinued about a year ago. Would I buy it again? Nope, it  is no longer available, but I will continue to buy other The Body Shop Shower Gels as I love them so.
Aura Cacia Euphoria Aromatherapy Bath: I got this packet as part of a gift. I did like the bath. Would I buy it again? No, it was ok but I doubt it was worth the price for a single use product.
Caudalíe Eau De Beauté/Beauty Elixir: I bought this a while back and loved it so much I ran out and got the 100ml bottle too. Sadly the spray top popped off and won't go back on. So it pretty much broke on me with a 1/5 left. Would I buy it again? Well I already did, I am disappointed thought that it broke and I am left with unused product trapped inside.
I broke the Treat part off of yet another one of my Elf Studio Treat and Tames. I am happy to ditch it.
Elf Face and Line Filler: I just never used this, nor did it really work too well. Would I buy it again? No.
Physisicans Formula 2-in-1 Boosting Eyeliner: This is one of the best liners out there. The liner has a small series of brushes that make applying liner work very well. Plus there so much liner in there!!! You will toss it before you run out. Would I buy it again? I already have. This one was just old and needed to be tossed for sanitation reasons, but I do have a new on the go.
Elf HS Undereye Setting Powder: This powder is supposed to help make your under eyes look great and help set concealer....it doesn't! It sparkles ---but sparkles....nothing flattering about it. Pretty much it looks like a shimmering glittery powder. ICK! Would I buy it again? No! No no no no no! No. But I do like (and use) Elf Eye Brightener. It is pretty much supposed to do the same thing, but it actually does what it says without being awful.
Ok, here we go. I used up lots of teas!! I am going to keep the tins and reuse them.
Here is what I used up and what I think:
Alpine Punch - I liked it ok, nothing special.
Toasted Almond - Meh - wouldn't get it again.
Read My Lips - I liked this one a lot - I might get it when I have room in my cabinet again.
Red Velvet Cake - Ick, tasted like nothing - just like a red velvet cake - ick (ok I know lots of people love red velvet, I do not).
Gingerbread - I liked this one better mixed with other teas, but I do like it.
Cold 911 -  I have another tin on the go. I get sick, I drink it, I feel better.
Marcelle Hydra-C Cleansing and Exfoliating Cloths: I love these wipes. Some of the best out there.  Would I buy it again? Yes!

I hope this holiday season has been treating you well. While I was one of many in Toronto and the surrounding areas to get their power knocked out from the ice storm, I was also lucky to have loved ones who offered us a warm place to stay. Once we got our power back (well then our landlords cut the heat off without telling us, so it took another day to get warm) we had a fantastic Christmas. I got spoiled with gifts of all types, but I thought I would share with all of you some of my beauty and other items I got. I also went Boxing Week shopping and went a little nuts, so there is lots of that here too.
Marcelle Cosmetics sent me and many other bloggers a fantastic holiday treat. I have been wanting to try out their CC cream for a long time and cannot wait to start using it. I also got a Bronzer Quad and a Pressed Powder Quad, Waterproof Mascara Top Coat, New Age 8-in-1 Power Serum and their Double Precision Liquid Eyeliner.  Thanks so much Marcelle, I cannot wait to start trying these out.
A customer of mine gave me these great Bath and Body Works items. I love each smell so much and cannot wait to use the body scrub. Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Wash, Stress Relief Bath Salts, Tangerines Body Wash and White citrus Body Scrub.

Another customer gave me this great Holts bag filled with goodies.
There is a larger and smaller bag and a bunch of interesting samples.
Now on to Boxing Week. I went to Davids Tea and saw they had a little box with a little tin of Cream of Earl Gray for $5. It is meant for putting a gift card in. I just got it without the gift card for the hubby since he loves Earl Gray teas.
I also went to Teavana and got the Holiday Favourites tea set, it was 30% off. It contains White Chocolate Peppermint, Pumpkin Spice Brûlée, Spiced Apple Cider, and Orange Chocolate Sweet Spice. I am in love wight eh White Chocolate Peppermint Tea!
Chapters had a holiday clear out sale on Boxing Week, I saw this fox candle...it was $5. I just need to find a spot to put it once our holiday decorations are put away.
My Shoppers that normally does not carry any Essence had a display for the Justin Bieber collection. I snagged a bunch of items. Shimmer Powder in 'Swaaaag!', eyeshadow in 'I'm Backstage', lipgloss in 'I'm Backstage', and a blush in 'Groupie at Heart'. I picked up the most interesting shades, I am very excited for the red red blush and shimmer powder.
I went to Sephora with Jenn from Scarlet Beauty and saw a bunch of great deals, mainly on Cake. I also did an online order, so I have to remember to add those when they arrive.
I got the Cake Deep Affection set which contains Heavy Cream for hands and body. It was $19 I believe.
I also got their Vanilla Cashmere Veleteen Hand Cream for $9
I also got Cakes After Dark Set. I believe it was $15, I cannot find the receipt and Sephora doesn't list Cake on their site.
It has a large shaker of their day Shampoo and Body Powder, a tin of their Stain Sugar Dry Shampoo and Milk Made hand cream.
I picked ups  Caudalie Dry Skin Set, it was $12.
It has their Gentle cleansing Milk, Moisture Recovery Cream, Hand and Nail Cream and Nourishing Body Lotion. I think I may give this to a friend next week for her birthday.
I picked up Amazing Grace Body Wash for $12.
I also got some Makeup Forever Aqua Shadow Duos. These were also available during Black Friday but I missed out on them. They were $12 for the set.
Oh my there we go. Lots of goodies. Did you get anything amazing during the holiday season ?
