Time for another 5 Things I am Loving Right Now. This time I am summing up everything I loved this past spring and summer. I will say I wore next to no makeup this summer and a lot of what I loved last spring and summer I am still loving this year, so check out last years post.

Ouai Detox Shampoo 300 ml / $39.00

I got this in my Summer 2021 FabFitFun box with a matching scalp massager. I started using it right after my condo's pool opened. I found it easy to lather and rinse, but most of all my hair and scalp always felt great after using it. I think it did a great job of keeping the chlorine from building up in my hair over the season.

It has Apple Cider Vinegar to help with buildup and keratin to help strengthen hair, it makes for a great clarifying shampoo.

Grown Alchemist Gentle Gel Facial Cleanser 200 ml / $52.00

I got this from Influenster in the early summer and decided to put it in my shower, I started using it every day after my swims. I usually hate gel cleansers because they end up stripping my skin of moisture, but not this one. The gentle in its name is definitely true. It cleansed my skin well, lathered and rinsed well and never left my skin feeling tight or dry. I was using it daily as I got fully into swimming this summer, and it really impressed me the more I used it. I actually really think having a pump made it a great option for having in the shower too, less mess and water couldn't get inside it.

Dr Teal's Melatonin Sleep SoakPure Epsom Salt, 1.36 kg / $9.99

I reviewed this and its matching bubble bath, I love them both. My legs started bothering me mid way through the summer, having a good epsom salt soak goes a long way to making them feel better. This salt also has the added relaxation of melatonin and lavender in it. I have probably been using it about 3-4 times a week.

MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Paint Pots 5 g / $28.00

Mac Paint pots have always been favourites of mine, but over the years Mac has lost a little of its glitter and glam for me (most likely when they made renewing my pro card impossible and started pumping endless terrible collections), that being said when Mac released some new shades I actually went and picked a bunch up.  I got all matte shades, something I always found a bit hard to find previously at Mac.

I love these in the warmer weather because they are so easy to just apply and go, now powders to mess with, just use your finger or a brush and go. The matte ones work even better because there is no glitter fall out as I sweat the hot days away.  They also make a great shadow primer, but I mainly wore them as an actual shadow this summer.

Dior Addict Lip Glow - 01 Pink 3.52 g / $44.00

When it comes to lips, no one is really seeing mine these days, but I do like a little something on them. Dior Addict Lip Glow is a balm that adds a slight tint to the lips. I started wearing it daily because I figured there was no point in me having something so nice that I wasn't using, and it turns out I really do love it.
What have you been loving lately?

I probably should have posted this sooner, but I have been busy with a big side project and it is taking up a lot of my time and energy right now.

Let's talk about the top 5 items I loved for the Summer of 2019.

Revlon ColorStay Looks Book Eye Shadow Palette in Maverick*
I love this palette, that really is all I should have to say. I love it so much and wore it almost all summer. In matte looks, shimmery looks, with just shades as a liner or just shades on my lid in a wash of colour, I wore it all over the place in lots of different ways. This is one pigmented palette in a tiny little package. I highly recommend it and am still looking to pick up some of the other shade options because it is just that good. I did write a full post on it, so check it out.

John Freida Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Formula Hair Serum
As I just found out, the packaging on this one has changed, I don't know when, but it looks completely different now. I have about 5 to 7 hair serums just hanging around my house and felt that maybe it was time that I try to actually use one up. I chose this one because I remembered that John Freda was kind of the originator of hair serums. Frankly, my hair was a little frizzy this summer due to how humid it was and I swam quite a bit. My hair actually really behaved well each time I used it my hair was soft, tamed and generally looked great. I am going to keep on using this until I use it up and move on to another serum or oil.

Live Clean Deodorant
I adore Live Clean's Deodorant! It is so fantastic. I have been trying to switch from antiperspirant to deodorant for a while and this really seems to be the product I was looking for to help me make that switch.  Like deodorants, it is free of aluminum, but it also has baking soda in it to help absorb odours and keep you smelling fresh. I really like the Fragrance-Free version and the Cool & Fresh scented one. Read all about my thoughts on it over here.

So...? Maui Waves Body Mist*
I would much rather wear body sprays or mists in the summer over perfumes. I find perfumes to heavy in the warm weather. I really love a beachy kind of scent in the summer and this one is that. It is fruity with lemon and notes of jasmine and amber. It is light and breezy, perfect for the summer.

Mac High-Light Powder in Fleur Real
I picked this up early in the summer from the Bay. It a gorgeous metallic overspray that vanished right away. Underneath was this beautiful light pink with Mac's Pearl-Matte finish, which is just lovely and the pearl isn't really noticeable. It is such a wearable shade I wear it all the time now.
There you go, 5 things I loved this past summer! Is there anything you loved all summer long?

I picked up a few items the last month and thought it would be a good time to share them with you.

Indeed Labs:
TopBox Circle sent me some Indeed products to try out. So far I am in love with the mineral booster. IN LOVE. It is great for this time of year when I want light layers.
Canadian Themed Lipsticks:
I picked up three Canadian themed lipsticks recently.
Bite #BiteToronto lipstick. Bite (a Toronto based brand) came up with a road trip themed collection and I had to pick up #biteToronto. It is described as a spiced maple shade.
Mac Proud To Be Canadian is another one I grabbed (also a Toronto founded brand). This is a rich red shade that is so darn pretty.
Finally, I grabbed a Sephora Collection #lipstories lipstick from their Destinations collection. The collection features a bunch of US cites and then Canada. So I picked up Sephora Loves Canada. These paper tube lipsticks feature fun pictures. For Canada, we got a close up of a mug that says Canada and a maple leaf, all of which is odd, but whatever. It is a matte and has #matte embossed in it. This of the three is the only one not made in Canada, it is made in Italy.
Wet N Wild Eyeshadow Trio: I got this from a recent collection from them. It wasn't much, but I liked the Rose Quartz shades.
No7 Lift & Luminate Dark Spot Concentrate: So my Shoppers Drug Mart had a lot on sale the last few months and I got a lot. I have been looking for a dark spot roller for years and this was just $3 so I got 2.
No7 Instant Illusion Wrinkle Filler: This was also on sale for $3 so I got it. It seems to be a silicone filler for wrinkles.

Essence Never Give Up Your Daydream Palette:
I wanted to try this palette for months, I finally found one at my Superstore that wasn't trashed so I grabbed it. So far it really has been fantastic, soft and silky, really pretty shades.
The Inkey List Q10: I have wanted to try this out since I attended the Canadian launch of the brand. I really love how well things work and the affordability.
No7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream: My Shoppers Drug Mart had this on clearance for $5 so I grabbed it. I am always looking for a good night cream and the price was right.
Physician's Formula Charcoal Detox: This was on sale at my Shoppers Drug Mart for $3, so I grabbed it. It will be my first time trying out a stick face mask.
Physicians Formula Butter Blush in Beachy Peach: I got this at my local Shoppers Drug Mart it was on sale for $5, so I really couldn't say no.
Ok, so that is it. I got quite a few things, but didn't go too crazy at least.

Ever since I coloured my hair purple (yeah for purple hair), I've been wearing more purple. It seems to naturally look good on me, and now it just happens to play up the purple on my hair, so why the not?
Since purple and lavender shades look just about good on every skin tone, I thought I would share with you some of the purple lip items I've been loving and show off some of my lipstick collection.

I am going to show you the tube/sticks and then swatches below.  If there happens to be a blog review about any colour already on here, I will make the name of the shade link to it.

Lipsticks
Left to right in both photos:
Joe Fresh Baie Sauvage (cream), Stila Gemma (colour lip balm stick), Bite Barberry (matte creme), Bite Mauvember (luminous creme), Buxom Swinger (cream), Cover Girl Vixen Violet (long lasting cream-gel), Maybelline Violet Vixen (opaque cream)
Left to right for both photos, all are from Mac:
heroine (matte), plumful (luster), Evening Rendezvous (matte), Plum Princess (matte), Rebel (satin).
Cubbie Sticks:
Left to right in both photos:
Bite Aubergine (matte creme) Wet n Wild LieLac (matte), Revlon Darling (gloss stain), Revlon Shameless (matte balm)
Glosses and Stains:
left to right for both photos:
Stila Fuchsia Vinyl (long lasting gloss), Joe Fresh Baie Sauvage (long wear liquid lipstick), L'oreal Berry Persistent (stain gloss), Wet n Wild That's My Jam (gloss), Buxom Pucker Up (gloss), Hard Candy Wisteria (matte gloss), Revlon Parisian (stain), NYX Sugar Cookie (gloss), Urban Decay Bittersweet (gloss), Almay Just Plum (gloss).
So there you have it, my purple lipstick and gloss collection.  Some of these items have been discontinued or were limited edition, but it is still a great look at how one colour can vary so much.

Do you have any favourite purple items in your collection?

Valentine's Day has come and gone, which means it is time to do a bit of an update on my Finish 8 By Valentine's Day challenge. So how did I do?
1. The Body Shop Nutriganics Drops of Youth:
Done! I used it up. I have a backup bottle, and I think I will pull it out ASAP since it just got relaunched in a better packaging.

2. L'oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set - Makeup Extender Setting Spray
Done! I did great on this one, I finished it within a week. I am now using Urban Decay's De-slick setting spray.

3. Mac Prep + Prime Fortified Skin Enhancer
Failed! I barley dented this one. I still have som much to use up. I am going to continue to try to finish it off sometime soon.

4. Mac NC15/NW20 Chromographic Pencil:
Failed! I did not finish this one either. Sadly, I misplaced this tiny thing about 4 times and started using other pencils. I really want to finish it up so I will try some more.

5. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude:
Tossed! This one smelt strange....really strange. So I just tossed it

6. Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal
Tossed! It is just too shimmery for me for day to day. Ick. So I am tossing it.

7&8 Benefit Lolli Tint and Lolli Balm:
Almost there! I am almost done with the balm, the tint not so much. I will continue to try to wear them more often. I love how they look with my new purple hair.

Ok so 2 done and 2 tossed that gives me a 50% success rate. I just 3 very close to done items left  and one half full item to go. I will try to get them out of my life by the start of spring.

Is there anything you've used up recently?

I have so many makeup and skin care products on the go the the idea of ever finish something becomes an issue. To be 100% honest, a big issue. I start to feel like a hoarder when I have too many foundations, or lotions, or well anything on the go at once. This is why I am doing a finish by challenge. Instead of the usual 5, I'm going with 8. Why?  Well, because they are the 8 things I am close to finishing and just really want to move on from them.

1. The Body Shop Nutriganics Drops of Youth:
I love this serum, it is light and absorbs right away. It makes my skin feel fantastic. I also have at least one bottle stored away as back up. Seeing as this bottle is so low the dropper doesn't work I feel I can use it up and maybe move on to something new, or that extra bottle.

2. L'oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set - Makeup Extender Setting Spray
I love this setting spray. If you can, try it. It is just as good as some much pricer bands, but much cheaper. The bottle holds fingerprints, but  that really doesn't matter. What matters is how well it works. While I love it, there is little left and I have other sprays I need to use. So it hurts me to use it just to toss it and move on, that is what I am doing here. I will definitely repurchase once I use a few other sprays up.

3. Mac Prep + Prime Fortified Skin Enhancer
This is a primer, I've had it forever, and have a back up of it. I need to just use it up. I feel that although I've had it a long time, it really hasn't vanished from the bottle. So I am going to give using it up my best shot. If I don't make it, well it is going in the back to mac pile so I can try some new primers out and not feel bad about it.

4. Mac NC15/NW20 Chromographic Pencil:
I love nude pencils for my water line. Love them. But now I have too many and this one was my first. I am trying by best to just use it up, so I don't have 5 on the go at once. Plus I cannot find the cap for it, so really it need to get used up.

5. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude:
I have had this so long, I think I might even have a back up (and a million deluxe sample sized ones), it was the first tinted moisturizer I ever used, and I love it so much. But now I have what seems like a million TM and BB and CC hanging around, and this one needs to retired. It is really good for the winter time, so I am giving it a good go to see if I can use it up

6. Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal
This is a Tinted Moisturizer with a concealer on the end. While I just got it last year when Target was exiting Canada, I didn't learn until it got home that it was expiring a mere months later. So now it is expired (I am assuming the spf is useless now) and the concealer end is almost gone. It is just me and this TM left and I am going to try to just use what I can up before tossing it. I really wish Pixi put expression dates on the outside of boxes, just saying I wouldn't have bought it if I knew.

7&8 Benefit Lolli Tint and Lolli Balm:
I have these minis, but I also have another mini of the tint and a full sized balm waiting to be started. Since I love these so much I figured I could make them my signature shade for the next month and half and try to use them up so I can open the new ones. I really do love these.

That's it, hopefully I do well. I will give you updates around Valentine's Day to let you know how it all went.

Is there anything your trying to use up right now?
