Beauty Vixen

Getting my makeup done quick and easily in the mornings can sometimes be a challenge. Even worse is the times when you want to go out, look a little bit more done up and don't have the time. Well right here I am going to show you a look that takes no time at all, is bronzy and slightly glittery and chalked full of drug store makeup.
First let me explain why this is such a quick look...the Annabelle Roll-on Eyeshadow + Liner in Hazel...that's why. One side has a roll on glittery bronze shadow the other a glittery bronze liner. They fit in your bag easily so you can go from work to night easy and quick. I just like to put a glitter primer under it first.  After that it is smooth sailing.

Product used:
  • Almay Smart Shade Skintone Matching Makeup in Light
  • Almay Smart Shade Powder Bronzer in Sunkissed
  • Almay Smart Shade Concealer in light
  • Annabelle Eyeshadow + Liner in Hazel
  • Annabelle TwistUp in Nude of Fame
  • Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner in Universal Light
  • Annabelle Expandible Mascara
  • Makeup Forever HD Powder
  • ELF Glitter Primer
  • Rimmel Scandaleyes in Nude
How I did it:

Primed my eyes with the ELF Glitter Primer by patting it all over the lids. Rolled on the Eyeshadow half of the Annabelle Hazel. Took a fluffy brush and blended just the edges of the shadow. Took the liner side and drew on some wings.
I then took the Almay Smart Shade foundation and applied it randomly to the skin. Taking a short stipple brush (like Mac 130) I blend it out. I really like this foundation for quick makeup because it always matches me perfectly. They say it isn't just shade adjusting but also tone adjusting which is great for me since I can be pretty neutral in the tone department, making buying two foundations a common occurrence. Oh and it always looks really good on my skin. I then touch up areas with Almay Smart Shade Concealer where needed followed by the MUFE HD powder to set it all.
Now I love a good bronzy look, but bronzer and me are not friends...see I don't tan so there is really no shade that really looks right on me (cause I don't that, I'm not explaining this very well. I burn, burnt isn't a shade of bronzer, nor does it look good...oh forget it) so I like using it as a blush sometimes.I took Almay Smart Shade Bronzer and used it on my cheeks like blush and used any excess too buff out on my skin to attempt a bit of a bronzy look.
I filled in my brows with the Annabelle liner and coated my lashes with the mascara. I lined my water line with my absolute favourite nude liner by Rimmel. Applied the Annabelle TwistUp and was done. Twistups are fantastic because they are liner and lipstick on one, leading to easier application and a precision look on the go ( I guess that is why I now own 29 of them).
There that was quick and easy.  A little glitzy but not over the top...an easy way to get from day to night in no time flat.

Here comes another big empties post.

A bunch of shadows crushed in my palette. It mainly consisted of Wet N Wild shadows. I really liked a few of them but I could only rebut spoiled brat. It seems the availability of the palettes has decreased significantly since I bought them. Most stores only have a few to choose from.  The other shadows were pressed TKB Trading pigments and Lancome GWP shadows I deported. Nothing I was too eager to replace.
Vasanti Eye Wonder I got this a long long time ago, I like it and use it but not enough to hold on to it any longer. Would I buy it again? Maybe, it was good and quite large.
M Asam Magic Finish I got this in a glymm box so long ago. I still have a bit left but will never use it up. Would I buy it again? NO, although it is ok, it really has a potent smell and just not for me.
Olay PROx Eye Restoration Complex This I got long ago as well, in a Lux Box. Time to say goodbye Would I buy it again? Doubtful. I never found it to be that amazing of an eye cream. I did like it and a little went a long way, but I think it just wasn't for me.
Mark Calming Effect This is a milk cleanser that work well. Sadly I just don't love milk cleansers and it just never made its way onto my daily use list. Would I buy it again?  No, it seems like Mark no longer has skin care products.
Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo I got this last month and it clogged after two uses. Seriously, two  uses. This is crap. I tried everything to fix it but no luck. Sadly the more I read reviews, the more I see this is just how HE dry smapoos are, they clog after two uses. WTF? Would I buy it again? NO! I am tossing a perfectly good product due to manufacturing issues. I'm not pleased.
Andrea Eye Makeup Remover Pads I did not like these at all. SCRATCHY! ick. Would I buy it again? No, I much prefer the Annabelle or Almay ones.
L'oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Day/Night Cream  I love this cream. I used it all up. That never happens to me. It hydrated just right and was the right texture for me. Loved it Would I buy it again? YES, Love it.
Marc Anthony Oil Of Morocco I finally used it up! I feel like it too a long time to use such a small bottle of hair oil up, but I finally did. It wasn't too heavy or to fragranced, it was actually really nice Would I buy it again? Probably not, I really love the L'oreal Precious Oils Treatment but this comes a close second.
Life Brand SunThera3 Aloe After Sun Cleansing Wipes I got these last summer because I thought they would be great with my sun hives issues for stopping, well the hives. Sadly when I opened them they were dry. I got two packs and well they were both dry. Thanks a lot Life Brand, waisting my money and getting my hopes up Would I buy it again? Hell no!
Onyx Proffesional 100% Pure Acetone The basic acetone you get at walmart. I think they just canted the brand name now. Would I buy it again? Yes, I like pure acetone for nail polish remover, so if it is cheap I will buy it
Vaseline Spray and Go in Cocoa Radiant Not too much to say about this one, but I used up a body moisturizer…woot woot.  No, I didn't like it enough to justify its price. I am glad I tried it though.
Makeup Forever Mist and Fix This is the sec one one of these I've ever finished by MUFE. It makes for a every good fixer. I like it better than Mac Fix+, even the sprayer better. Would I buy it again? Yes, I am currently finishing some Ben Nye Final Seal and a Mac Charged Water, but once I am done I will most likely buy it again.
Rimmel Green Liner This is old. I won't like ….OLD! I kept it because I liked it so much and couldn't find another quite like it. I have now, so I am tossing it finally. Would I buy it again?  No, it is no longer made, or I would have years ago.
Lise Waiter and Hard Candy Lip Pencils I go these a long time ago and never liked their consistency or feel. Plus the colours looked bad on me Would I buy it again?  Nope.
Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains These are old as well….seems to be the theme. I loved these, they were some of the best stains I've ever tried. Sadly they were limited editions, and now old. Would I buy it again? YES ! If they existed I would in a second.
Marcelle BB Cream to Powder I got this in a Marcelle BB kit I bought a while back. It reminds me of Benefit SomekindofGorgous. Would I buy it again? YES! I bought a full sized a few months back and am loving it.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Powder  This is a tiny version of the powder. The lid broke, but I still used it up Would I buy it again?  Yes, I have another one on the go right now, but I really like it.
Vasanti Liquid Foundation in V1 I got this so long ago and thought I tossed it. I really love it. It is a great concealer/foundation. I love it with BB creams to give a bit more coverage. Would I buy it again? YES!
The Body Shop Satsuma Body Scrub I love this scrub. It has lots of gritty bits in it and is in a tube. Oh and I just generally love Satsuma Would I buy it again?  YES!
Bath and Body Works White Citrus Body Scrub This scrub is almost sugar like, it dissolves quickly when in the shower. It smells amazing and has a nice lather Would I buy it again? No, I peter my scrubs to have more grit to them, like seeds or nuts in them.
The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter I used this one up quickly, even thought it is small , I am impressed with how fast I used it up. Would I buy it again? Yes! I have tons though so it will be a while.
NeoStrata All-in-one Multi-Vitamin Complex these capsule are amazing. If my skin is remotely irritated it really does the trick to calm it. It always feels smooth and soft after using it. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have another one I am using right now.
Avon Advance Techniques Straightening Balm  This protects your hair from heat and helps you get straight hair, but I never used it. So it is time to toss it Would I buy it again? No, I never used it, it was good and I have no beef with it…but if I don't use it I wouldn't rebut it.
Crabtree and Evelyn Body Lotion I got this last year in Boston at a Double Tree Hotel. I kept it in my purse and liked it ok. Would I buy it again? No, but I do have more in my stash.
Color Brilliance Pre Color Treatment This spray helps fix porosity in hair before you colour it. Essentally if you hair just bleeds colour and won't hold it this is the product for you. I got it at sallys and it has lasted me 3+ uses. I passed it along to a friend who was trying recolour her hair after two years of ombre ends. Would I buy it again? YES!!! This is a must have to the at home hair colourer. If you go from light to dark or ever use a bleach to get rid of something you didn't like this will really help you keep your new hair shade in place. I wish I found it years ago.
Mac Mineralized Skin Finish Natural I finished it!!! This is amazing. It took me forever to kill this baby off. This is the second one I've finished, but it still took forever. Would I buy it again?  Not sure, mineral products don't do the best with my dry skin...but I still used it up and repurchased it last time. Time will tell.
NYX Jumbo Pencils I never, ever use these. They are nice, I've got bold and not so bold colours, but I never ever use them. Some of the lids have crack. It is just time to say goodbye. Would I buy it again? No, I really never use them, and they are nice, but I like Annabelles or Makeup Forever or even Essence jumbo style pencils more.
So that is it. My gigantic empties post.  I managed to do a lot of cleaning out this time around....and I am glad I did. No point in keeping stuff you don't like around.

This weekend I ran around a lot, as a result I hauled quite a bit.
Picked up Be Better Pure Argan Oil Moisturizer from my Rexall. Be Better is their own brand and from the recent flyer I received I am guessing they are relaunching it. They have a full line of Argan products but this one really caught my eye. It is 100% organic argan oil from Morocco, that is it, no other ingredient inside it. Right now it is on sale for $11.99. I thought I would try to mix it into my hair and skin products for some extra oomph.
I popped into my Sally's and tried to find a colour filler for my porous hair, no luck. Instead I got these items. The Feria is supposed to be a big bottle of the stuff you get in the box, which I love so why not get a big bottle. The spray might help me fill my hairs porousness before I colur it again.
I then went next door to Walmart and grabbed some goodies. The mascaras were the price of just one so I am glad I saw them. Having never tried baby lips before I really thought it was about time I fixed that and purchased Oh! Orange!. I caved and got a Rimmel Apocalips in Galaxy and a face scrubber.
Mac finally is realizing some new matte paint pots, so I got Layin' Low, Smoky Pink and Perky. Perky is not matte but it is a repromote of a favourite of mine. I also got a Pro Longwear Lip Colour in Cling Peach.
Finally at Shoppers I got a Essence clear mascara/brow gel and a hair/eye mascara in purple.

A new month, a new empties post..woohoo.
As you can see not everything fit in the mail box, and I am ok with that, I just want to toss/recycle the stuff already.
Bliss Raspberry Champagne Soap Suds Body Wash / Bubble Bath This was a small bottle I got at xmas time at Sephora. Would I buy it again? I would say no, I liked it but it had sparkles in it and I hate sparkles in body products. Other than that it was good.
Avon Anew REveralist Gel This was a night gel with a whole lot of silicone in it. Would I buy it again?  No, it actually is only half used.
L'oreal Total Repair 5 Hair Masque I love this stuff. Not sure how many I've gone through already, but it works wonders on my hair. Would I buy it again? YES!!!! I don't have another one on the go right now, but I will be grabbing one as soon as it goes on sale.
Avon Naturals Kids Amazing Apple Detangling Spray Yes it is a kid product, yes I love it. It works really well and my hair is growing so I want to take care of it when brushing it out. Would I buy it again?  Yes, one is on my next avon order.
Generic Pencil Sharpener name says it all, it got gooped up and nasty after years of use. Would I buy it again? I got a new one from Essenece, it is blue and has a lid.
Garnier Eye Roller I got this 2 years ago and never used it up Would I buy it again?  I would not, I am using the tinted version and loving it.
Nars Eye Primer this was a sample I got in a small nars set at sephora Would I buy it again?I might, I liked it, but didn't think it was better then any other brands.
Ardell Eye Makeup Remover Wipes  I got these for lazy days or really stuborn stuff Would I buy it again? Yes.
Sally Hansen Clear Polishes I never used these up, and frankly I hate them.
Bioré Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser I love this stuff and so does my man, read about it here. Would I buy it again?  Yes, I am waiting for a sale though.
Bach Rescue Remedy ok so this isn't beauty, but I did keep it on my vanity/desk. Why? I don't know. What I do know is that after a decade plus of using it, the only thing that works is its placebo effect and the fact the drops of booze calm me down. There I said it. Would I buy it again? No, I have gotten so many over the years and used to swear by it for my panic attacks and night terror, but now I know it is just a placebo effect (I know too much information).
Annabelle Mineral Foundation  a friend gave this to me, Would I buy it again? Discontinued, and to be honest it is about 3 shades too dark. I'm not sure why I kept it this long.
Makeup Forever HD Primer I love this stuff, it makes for a great primer, but I am glad I used it all up. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have another tube from when I got a set this holiday season.
L'oreal Volouminous Power 24H Mascara  I used it up, I love the brush so much I kept it. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have another tube ready to go when I use up some other mascaras. I really want to try the waterproof version.
Anastasia Brow Gel I got this in a glymm box a long time ago Would I buy it again? I have another on the go, and I love how it is a strong gel, but I will not pay their price for it, that is just nuts.
Essence Eyeliner Pen I used this one up, loved the precision to this brush Would I buy it again? Yes, but I believe they have replaced it with the Stays No Matter What version, which I have to still try out.
Rimmel Brown Eye Pencil Ok this baby is so old there is not real name left on it. Regardless I think they no longer sell it or I would have replaced it along time ago Would I buy it again? I did like it and would get it again but instead I am trying out the Essence brown retractible pencil.
Estee Lauder Night Cream This was a sample I got from my sister in law who works at an Estee Lauder counter (got to love that) Would I buy it again? Yes, I liked it a lot, but I have many lotions on the go right now.
Mark. No Place To Run Pencils I loved these when they first came out, but sadly they have gotten a bit dry over the years and now need to be tossed Would I buy it again? Yes, I really did like them.

Thanks for reading my empties and mini reviews.

Oh my gosh, look at that big bag of empties!
A baggie full of really old pigments. There are 2 Annabelle and 4 L'oreal. These are at least 7 years old. Time to go...bye bye.
Miscellaneous Lavender Bubble Bath. So this came in a set I got at Xmas, now it is gone. It was a decent bubble bath.
Dollarama Cleansing Wipes - 25 wipes - $1.25 - I pick these up every once and a while for cleaning up. I rarley use them on my face but they are great for brushes and other things that get dirty while doing makeup. Would I Buy Again? Yes, they were better back in the days they were unscented but I've already got a new package.
Noxima Disposible Razor - I picked a package of these up a while back thinking they might be good. They got dull and rusted faster than I thought they would. Would I Buy Again? No.
L'oreal Total Repair 5 Conditioner - 385 ml - I still love this stuff. Leaves my hair nice and soft. Would I Buy Again? YES!!! I love this stuff. On my  new bottle as we speak.
Cover Fx Skin Prep FX PRimer - 5ml - I love this primer, used it up slowly though Would I Buy Again? Yes! On my new bottle right now.
SmashBox Photo Ready Primer  I got a bunch of these small bottles in sets from the Lisa's sale.  Would I Buy Again?  No. I gave many away, and simply don't think the pure silicone formula of this primer does it for me any more.
Herbal Esseneces Tossle Me Softly Flexible Style Hairspray - 236 ml - I got this so long ago, glad to see it go. The nozzle would always get crusty or clogged and I just never loved it.  Would I Buy Again?  No.
Clinique Happy Heart - I loved this and regular happy for such a long time. I am so sad to see it go.Would I Buy Again? Maybe. I think it might be time for a change.
The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter -200ml - I finally use this up. I really am bad with lotion usage. I love the Satsuma scent. Would I Buy Again? Yes, but I have so many lotions to use up it will be a long time.
Alberto Difining Hair Wax - 60 g - This was a good stick wax, while not empty I needed to make room for new stuff. Would I Buy Again?  Yes. I had to move past this wax since I got a new one that was smaller, if they still make this I will buy it again.
Onyx 100% Pure Acetone- 16 fl oz - I love this stuff, cheap and easy to find. The best stuff to rip polish off quick and cleanly. Would I Buy Again? Yes.
Estee Lauder Eye Makeup Remover  - GWP size - I got this at the warehouse sale. I love it. Would I Buy Again? Yes! I am onto another bottle right now.
L'oreal Extra Volume Collegen  I love this mascara, that is all. Would I Buy Again? Yes
Rimmel Day 2 Night Mascara this was a great mascara, two wands, just great  Would I Buy Again? Yes.
Revlon Lash Glue This glue is latex free and requires no waiting time at all. Great, packaging is good too, but gets messy fast. Would I Buy Again? Yes. Must find ASAP.
Essie Matte About You - This is my second bottle that just dried up on me without using it much at all. Would I Buy It Again? No. I've moved onto the ELF version.
Revlon Makeup Remover I got this years ago and found it while cleaning. Would I Buy Again? No
