Beauty Vixen

Another 10 I'm Tossing Post.
Wella Shimmer Delight - Shine Spray: I got this so long ago in a Glossy Box. I liked it quite a bit. Would I buy it again? No, I am using the silicone free shine spray from Pantene right now, it cost about $2 and is just as good.
Bath and Body Works Creamy Body WAsh in Butterfly Flower: I got this so long ago, back when the outlet first opened and Butterfly Flower was first discontinued. I really love the scent. I also really love butterflies (or papillons). The creamy formula is much nicer in the colder months than the regular clear body wash by them  Would I buy it again? Yes, but sadly the scent is no longer around and as for the creamy body wash, I never see it in the stores. Too bad.
Delon Green Apple Body Wash: I got this to refill my Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap System. I find the Lysol refills a rip off and just wasteful. Instead I usually buy econo refill hand soaps and top it off, but I was in a rush and went to my dollarma. All their hand soaps were made in China, but Delon products are made in Canada, so I opted for this body wash. I like the apple smell and it worked well. I got about 4 refills out of it.Would I buy it again?  Yes, I think for the $2 it worked well. I sometimes added a bit of dish soap to it, since it was just body wash and I felt it needed a bit  more cleaning ability.
Mark. Mist Opportunity: I've had this forever. I like it as a setting spray. Would I buy it again? No, it is discontinued, but I am also glad I've moved on to better things.
Almay Longwear and Waterproof Gentle Eyemakeup Remover:  I finally used this baby up. I really like how well it works to take all my eye makeup off without pulling or tugging. Would I buy it again?  Yes! I love this stuff!
Avon Ultra Color Rich White Gold Lipstick in Red Karat: Way back when I sold Avon, my coworker wanted this colour, she didn't like it so I ended up with it. It is a bright red with white gold flecks. It never really worked on me. Would I buy it again?  They don't make it anymore, but no.
Mark. Earth Perfume: Once again, back when I sold avon/mark I ordered this. While I liked it an used about 60% of it up I just don't wear it any more. It really smells like cucumbers. Would I buy it again?  They don't make it any more, but no.
Estee Lauder Cheek and Lip Palette:   This one is an oldie. I really don't know how long this has been hanging around in the back of my drawer. I believe I got this about 9 years ago. I used to use the blushes a lot. Would I buy it again?    I think every shade is discontinued. I do like the quality of the Estee Lauder blushes and would consider buying them again.
Cargo Lip gloss in Ecuador: This gloss is old! Oh my I should have tossed it a long long time ago. I got it as a gwp when I got a bunch of Cargo back in 2010. While I love the shade, it is time to say goodbye. Would I buy it again?  They don't make it anymore, but actually I would love to buy it again
Makeup Forever HD Loose Setting Powder: I finally used something up that is makeup! I used this mini HD powder up. I like it for under eye setting and light dusting. A little goes a long long way so it took a while to get though a jar even if it was little. Would I buy it again?  YES, I have another one that is the same size that I am currently working on

There you go 10 more items that are out the door.

Here comes another big empties post.

A bunch of shadows crushed in my palette. It mainly consisted of Wet N Wild shadows. I really liked a few of them but I could only rebut spoiled brat. It seems the availability of the palettes has decreased significantly since I bought them. Most stores only have a few to choose from.  The other shadows were pressed TKB Trading pigments and Lancome GWP shadows I deported. Nothing I was too eager to replace.
Vasanti Eye Wonder I got this a long long time ago, I like it and use it but not enough to hold on to it any longer. Would I buy it again? Maybe, it was good and quite large.
M Asam Magic Finish I got this in a glymm box so long ago. I still have a bit left but will never use it up. Would I buy it again? NO, although it is ok, it really has a potent smell and just not for me.
Olay PROx Eye Restoration Complex This I got long ago as well, in a Lux Box. Time to say goodbye Would I buy it again? Doubtful. I never found it to be that amazing of an eye cream. I did like it and a little went a long way, but I think it just wasn't for me.
Mark Calming Effect This is a milk cleanser that work well. Sadly I just don't love milk cleansers and it just never made its way onto my daily use list. Would I buy it again?  No, it seems like Mark no longer has skin care products.
Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo I got this last month and it clogged after two uses. Seriously, two  uses. This is crap. I tried everything to fix it but no luck. Sadly the more I read reviews, the more I see this is just how HE dry smapoos are, they clog after two uses. WTF? Would I buy it again? NO! I am tossing a perfectly good product due to manufacturing issues. I'm not pleased.
Andrea Eye Makeup Remover Pads I did not like these at all. SCRATCHY! ick. Would I buy it again? No, I much prefer the Annabelle or Almay ones.
L'oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Day/Night Cream  I love this cream. I used it all up. That never happens to me. It hydrated just right and was the right texture for me. Loved it Would I buy it again? YES, Love it.
Marc Anthony Oil Of Morocco I finally used it up! I feel like it too a long time to use such a small bottle of hair oil up, but I finally did. It wasn't too heavy or to fragranced, it was actually really nice Would I buy it again? Probably not, I really love the L'oreal Precious Oils Treatment but this comes a close second.
Life Brand SunThera3 Aloe After Sun Cleansing Wipes I got these last summer because I thought they would be great with my sun hives issues for stopping, well the hives. Sadly when I opened them they were dry. I got two packs and well they were both dry. Thanks a lot Life Brand, waisting my money and getting my hopes up Would I buy it again? Hell no!
Onyx Proffesional 100% Pure Acetone The basic acetone you get at walmart. I think they just canted the brand name now. Would I buy it again? Yes, I like pure acetone for nail polish remover, so if it is cheap I will buy it
Vaseline Spray and Go in Cocoa Radiant Not too much to say about this one, but I used up a body moisturizer…woot woot.  No, I didn't like it enough to justify its price. I am glad I tried it though.
Makeup Forever Mist and Fix This is the sec one one of these I've ever finished by MUFE. It makes for a every good fixer. I like it better than Mac Fix+, even the sprayer better. Would I buy it again? Yes, I am currently finishing some Ben Nye Final Seal and a Mac Charged Water, but once I am done I will most likely buy it again.
Rimmel Green Liner This is old. I won't like ….OLD! I kept it because I liked it so much and couldn't find another quite like it. I have now, so I am tossing it finally. Would I buy it again?  No, it is no longer made, or I would have years ago.
Lise Waiter and Hard Candy Lip Pencils I go these a long time ago and never liked their consistency or feel. Plus the colours looked bad on me Would I buy it again?  Nope.
Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains These are old as well….seems to be the theme. I loved these, they were some of the best stains I've ever tried. Sadly they were limited editions, and now old. Would I buy it again? YES ! If they existed I would in a second.
Marcelle BB Cream to Powder I got this in a Marcelle BB kit I bought a while back. It reminds me of Benefit SomekindofGorgous. Would I buy it again? YES! I bought a full sized a few months back and am loving it.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Powder  This is a tiny version of the powder. The lid broke, but I still used it up Would I buy it again?  Yes, I have another one on the go right now, but I really like it.
Vasanti Liquid Foundation in V1 I got this so long ago and thought I tossed it. I really love it. It is a great concealer/foundation. I love it with BB creams to give a bit more coverage. Would I buy it again? YES!
The Body Shop Satsuma Body Scrub I love this scrub. It has lots of gritty bits in it and is in a tube. Oh and I just generally love Satsuma Would I buy it again?  YES!
Bath and Body Works White Citrus Body Scrub This scrub is almost sugar like, it dissolves quickly when in the shower. It smells amazing and has a nice lather Would I buy it again? No, I peter my scrubs to have more grit to them, like seeds or nuts in them.
The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter I used this one up quickly, even thought it is small , I am impressed with how fast I used it up. Would I buy it again? Yes! I have tons though so it will be a while.
NeoStrata All-in-one Multi-Vitamin Complex these capsule are amazing. If my skin is remotely irritated it really does the trick to calm it. It always feels smooth and soft after using it. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have another one I am using right now.
Avon Advance Techniques Straightening Balm  This protects your hair from heat and helps you get straight hair, but I never used it. So it is time to toss it Would I buy it again? No, I never used it, it was good and I have no beef with it…but if I don't use it I wouldn't rebut it.
Crabtree and Evelyn Body Lotion I got this last year in Boston at a Double Tree Hotel. I kept it in my purse and liked it ok. Would I buy it again? No, but I do have more in my stash.
Color Brilliance Pre Color Treatment This spray helps fix porosity in hair before you colour it. Essentally if you hair just bleeds colour and won't hold it this is the product for you. I got it at sallys and it has lasted me 3+ uses. I passed it along to a friend who was trying recolour her hair after two years of ombre ends. Would I buy it again? YES!!! This is a must have to the at home hair colourer. If you go from light to dark or ever use a bleach to get rid of something you didn't like this will really help you keep your new hair shade in place. I wish I found it years ago.
Mac Mineralized Skin Finish Natural I finished it!!! This is amazing. It took me forever to kill this baby off. This is the second one I've finished, but it still took forever. Would I buy it again?  Not sure, mineral products don't do the best with my dry skin...but I still used it up and repurchased it last time. Time will tell.
NYX Jumbo Pencils I never, ever use these. They are nice, I've got bold and not so bold colours, but I never ever use them. Some of the lids have crack. It is just time to say goodbye. Would I buy it again? No, I really never use them, and they are nice, but I like Annabelles or Makeup Forever or even Essence jumbo style pencils more.
So that is it. My gigantic empties post.  I managed to do a lot of cleaning out this time around....and I am glad I did. No point in keeping stuff you don't like around.

Oh my, I never did an empties post last month.(but I did do a video)..so that means this one is going to be big.
Hair Stuff:
Baléa Deep Moisture Hair Mask: I got this on clearance (see the red sticker) I paid a whopping $0.99 for it. And you know what? It was amazing. Would I buy it again? Yes, but I feel it was discontinued (hence the price)
L'oreal Argentine Resist Instant Repair: I tried this out since I was trying to grow my hair, I liked it but like masks that have to sit on your hair a bit more.  Would I buy it again? Maybe...right now I have a few too many masks on the go.
Live Clean Clarifying Shampoo: I got this a while ago to use on my makeup brushes. It does a pretty good job of stripping the gunk off, I do find I go through it pretty fast though.   Would I buy it again?  Yes, I've got another one on the go right now.
Mark. Locks it in Place Hair Spray: Buildable, smells pretty darn good, works well   Would I buy it again? Maybe, I got a bottle of Sebastian hair spray I wanted to use but it seems to be a busted can (nothing comes out, no propellent maybe?).
Dollarama Hair Brush: ok this was a silly one, I got this a while ago to hold me over until I found a new one I liked better.  Would I buy it again?  Well, maybe, it actually was a good brush but now I have two Sonia Kashuk brushes that I love so much more.
L'oreal Power Moisture Conditioner: I love this conditioner, while my hair is probably way too damaged for it, it still worked really well in the harsh winter months.
Elin Bianco Hair Mask: This is FANTASTIC!!! I adore this. This tiny tiny sample lasted so long, so little is needed.  Would I buy it again? YES!!!
Skin and body stuff:
Curel Hand and Cuticle Thereapy Cream: I got this in a GlossyBox, it was ok. It had no scent to  Would I buy it again?  Maybe....not too likely.
Spectro Jel: We were gigantic Spectro Jel fans in this house, until we discovered the Biore Skin Balancing Cleanser. That wins over the Spectro any day. Would I buy it again? Not anymore.
Dermalogica Microfoliant: I got this so long ago in a Loose Button Box. I finally used it up. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have a big bottle of it now.
Marcelle Vitamin C Gel: I love this stuff, so moisturizing Would I buy it again? YES! I have another one on the go. Cannot live without it now.
Lady Speed Stick:  I do not know where this came from, I never buy speed stick and I remember why now. This has done nothing for me, It sucks so I am tossing it Would I buy it again? NO!
Mark Self Sanctuary Lemon Sugar Body Spray: I loved this...now it is gone. Would I buy it again? Maybe one day when I get through some of my other body sprays
Bath and Body Works Wildberry Dahlia Foaming Hand Soap: Would I buy it again? I got this as a gift at xmas time. I like the scent a lot. Would I buy it again?  no, foaming hand soaps are just watered down soap that costs more.
Other:
Miscellaneous Polishes: Most of these are crackles that I am pretty darn over.
Revlon Polishes:  I got these two in the crapy Glossybox filled with old items. Needless to say I didn't like my colour, or the one my co-worker hated and gave to me. They kinda suck(oh and they are old shades).
Estee Lauder Eye Makeup Remover: I got this at the Estee Lauder sale, I liked it a lot (even more since it was only $4).  Would I buy it again? Yes, I have more of it on the go right now.
Urban Decay Primer Potion: I got this with my Naked Palette a long time ago, the lid crack, it dried out. I didn't really care  Would I buy it again? No (GASP)!!!!  I have lots of primers and actually like Too Faced's Primer Insurance better.
Estee Lauder Mascara Sample: ok it was a sample of mascara, I used it, now it is old. Goodbye.  Would I buy it again?  No, I can't even really remember much about it now.
Essence Eyeshadow Primer: I got this when Essence first launched in Canada last year. I used the whole tube up.  Would I buy it again? Yes! In fact I have another bigger tube on the go right now and I love it! I highly recommend for anyone on a budget (or wants to find something at their local Shoppers).
L'oreal Youth Code Eye Cream: I got this a long time ago and finally used it up   Would I buy it again? Maybe,  I actually liked this a lot but I have moved on to a new eye cream (one by Marcelle).
Lise Watier Lip Gloss: I got this in a Loose Button box a long time ago, the lid cracked and it wouldn't stay shut any more  Would I buy it again?   No, I didn't love it enough.
Maybeline Great Lash Mascara: I don't know why I had this, or where it came from  Would I buy it again?  NO, I like bigger, fuller  brushes now a days.

Ok so that is it for my empties, below is the video I made last month that features many of the items.

A new month, a new empties post..woohoo.
As you can see not everything fit in the mail box, and I am ok with that, I just want to toss/recycle the stuff already.
Bliss Raspberry Champagne Soap Suds Body Wash / Bubble Bath This was a small bottle I got at xmas time at Sephora. Would I buy it again? I would say no, I liked it but it had sparkles in it and I hate sparkles in body products. Other than that it was good.
Avon Anew REveralist Gel This was a night gel with a whole lot of silicone in it. Would I buy it again?  No, it actually is only half used.
L'oreal Total Repair 5 Hair Masque I love this stuff. Not sure how many I've gone through already, but it works wonders on my hair. Would I buy it again? YES!!!! I don't have another one on the go right now, but I will be grabbing one as soon as it goes on sale.
Avon Naturals Kids Amazing Apple Detangling Spray Yes it is a kid product, yes I love it. It works really well and my hair is growing so I want to take care of it when brushing it out. Would I buy it again?  Yes, one is on my next avon order.
Generic Pencil Sharpener name says it all, it got gooped up and nasty after years of use. Would I buy it again? I got a new one from Essenece, it is blue and has a lid.
Garnier Eye Roller I got this 2 years ago and never used it up Would I buy it again?  I would not, I am using the tinted version and loving it.
Nars Eye Primer this was a sample I got in a small nars set at sephora Would I buy it again?I might, I liked it, but didn't think it was better then any other brands.
Ardell Eye Makeup Remover Wipes  I got these for lazy days or really stuborn stuff Would I buy it again? Yes.
Sally Hansen Clear Polishes I never used these up, and frankly I hate them.
Bioré Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser I love this stuff and so does my man, read about it here. Would I buy it again?  Yes, I am waiting for a sale though.
Bach Rescue Remedy ok so this isn't beauty, but I did keep it on my vanity/desk. Why? I don't know. What I do know is that after a decade plus of using it, the only thing that works is its placebo effect and the fact the drops of booze calm me down. There I said it. Would I buy it again? No, I have gotten so many over the years and used to swear by it for my panic attacks and night terror, but now I know it is just a placebo effect (I know too much information).
Annabelle Mineral Foundation  a friend gave this to me, Would I buy it again? Discontinued, and to be honest it is about 3 shades too dark. I'm not sure why I kept it this long.
Makeup Forever HD Primer I love this stuff, it makes for a great primer, but I am glad I used it all up. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have another tube from when I got a set this holiday season.
L'oreal Volouminous Power 24H Mascara  I used it up, I love the brush so much I kept it. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have another tube ready to go when I use up some other mascaras. I really want to try the waterproof version.
Anastasia Brow Gel I got this in a glymm box a long time ago Would I buy it again? I have another on the go, and I love how it is a strong gel, but I will not pay their price for it, that is just nuts.
Essence Eyeliner Pen I used this one up, loved the precision to this brush Would I buy it again? Yes, but I believe they have replaced it with the Stays No Matter What version, which I have to still try out.
Rimmel Brown Eye Pencil Ok this baby is so old there is not real name left on it. Regardless I think they no longer sell it or I would have replaced it along time ago Would I buy it again? I did like it and would get it again but instead I am trying out the Essence brown retractible pencil.
Estee Lauder Night Cream This was a sample I got from my sister in law who works at an Estee Lauder counter (got to love that) Would I buy it again? Yes, I liked it a lot, but I have many lotions on the go right now.
Mark. No Place To Run Pencils I loved these when they first came out, but sadly they have gotten a bit dry over the years and now need to be tossed Would I buy it again? Yes, I really did like them.

Thanks for reading my empties and mini reviews.

July went by fast didn't it? I spent the last week of it in sunny (and crazy hot) Mexico. Had a great time, but I fried my hair in the sun, pool and ocean, didn't wear much makeup at all, and got burned to a crisp snorkelling with sea turtles (worth it).

So now back to reality it is, here are my favourites for July.

Mark. Give it to Me Straight.  Super Smoothing Lotion
With the frizzy humid days that we have had in Toronto recently it has given me a good chance to try this stuff out. It locks humidity out, smooth out hair and protects it from heat. I have loved the results when using my straightening iron with it, but also just love it on hot days to tame my wavy hair and keep it a bit more straight and under control.

Mark. Double Duo. Shape and Gloss Kit
This little flippable duo is easy to carry around and convent. I love putting a bit of the balm in my hair when pulling it back or into braids. The wax part is great for fly aways and just general taming when out. In this humidity it is just great.

L'oreal Kerastase Reflections Chroma Reflect Masque
This was a tiny little one dose sample, and I am so glad I took it on vacation with me. After swimming and sweating all the time I was showering about 3 times a day. Every-time using conditioner to repair my hair (no shampoo I go co-poo remember) but it was still getting fried. Then I used this...one dose but it did a great job. I loved it and might get some more after I use up all my beloved L'oreal Total Repair 5 Repair Masks that I have hanging around ...I have quite a few by the way.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in 51
I got this in June and have barley used it but I love the finish an texture of it...just love it.

L'oreal True Match Lumi
I love the finish of this foundation, I love how it feels and looks on my skin. I wish I could say I love the spf 20 in it, but it only covers UVB and therefore I have to forget the spf all together (sorry it is true). But I still really love this foundation and have worn it whenever I get the chance.

Marcelle BB + Antiaging + SPF
I love the texture and finish of this BB, it is just as amazing as the original. It is so great on hot days to fix up your skin without fuss and muss, also great to skip heavy moisturizers because it does it all. Unfortunatly only UVB coverage as well so, a little disappointed there and I still have to put on sunscreen.

ELF Studio SPF 45 Sunscreen UVA/UVB Protection
This stuff comes in a big black box with a large puff inside. I have chosen to use this as my powder in the summer because one it is effective as a powder and two gives me 45 spf level protection in a mineral form. I use the load a puff and press and roll method to apply (see my video above), not only does this work great it makes it last all day. I sometimes mist my face afterwards if I want a less powdery look.
It can leave you a bit pink if you just brush it on. Being mineral based you don't have to wait the 15 minutes for it to start working and can go out right away. For $3 definitely worth checking out, it is also great for those that find liquid sunscreens break them out or just pain hate them

On a side note here are two FAILS for the month:

Mark Anthony Easy Lites:
This did not do a thing for me. All I ended up doing was running my GHD through my hair 5000 times and damaging it. I see on youtube it works on others, but they seem not to have colour treated hair, where I do. The bottle says it works on colour treated hair, but now I doubt that.

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner - travel bottle
Ok this was a great conditioner, it was, but the travel size was awful. Why? Well it is so thick that it won't come out and the bottle is so small and the formula so thick that you get two uses out of it. You end up after one use needing to flush it out with water to get the rest out. So I would buy a full size but never a travel one of it again, just not worth it.

I love butterflies, just love them, and this is all because 3.5 years ago I got Monty, a papillon. Papillon means butterfly in French, and well therefore he is butterfly dog. I love him and have grown to love butterfly things as a result.

We have prints in our living room of butterflies, I have jewellery and note pads, pretty much I feel the need to get cute things with butterflies on them.

So when I saw Mark's All the Highlights Soft Glow Illuminator with a nice big bright butterfly in the middle of it I was excited.

I debated for a while since the price tag was $20 and a little high considering I already have more blushes than I can store.

I went a head and got it...it looked amazing...
... I debated never touching and just keeping it, but that would be silly. So, I swatched it and...what the...
...Overspray??? OVERSPRAY!!! I just spent $20 on a blush because it had a butterfly on it and it was OVERSPRAY? [Insert swearing here.]

I am sure this a fantastic highlighter, bronzer, but it is no butterfly item. I feel so let down and disappointed.

Mark, label oversprays next time, in the mean time this item is being returned.

I believe this is my fourth empties post. I think after this I will just loose track, so starting in the spring it will be seasonal (ex. Spring 2012 empties post, Summer 2012 empties post).
The Body Show Spa Wisdom Hand and Foot Cream I love this cream with a passion. It has a texture I cannot explain and does amazing things for ones dry icky skin in the winter months. I am glad I used it all up though, I have far too many hand cream to try. Would I buy it again? YES, oh yes, but for now, use up some of my other goodies.
Avon Planet Spa Greek Seas Firming Gel Avon launched so many of their Planet Spa lines, cancelled others and then abruptly got rid of them all, it was hard to keep track of everything. I liked this gel, I used it in the summers when I wanted something light and even as an aloe gel sub. Would I buy it again? No, it was nice, I liked it but there are other things out there, plus I can't.
Mark Mist Opportunity This mini spray bottle is empty. I have a full bottle so I might refill. Would I buy it again? Yes and no...I've got a full bottle so I don't need to.
Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat I got this at the Revlon sale years ago for a buck. I liked it a lot, but now it is thick and gooey and and the end of its life. Time to toss. Would I buy it again? If I went to another Revlon sale and it was a $1 again, yes!
Dr Hauschka Bath Oil Samplers Maybe 3 years ago I got a whole gorgeous set of these 0.34 fl oz bottles of bath oil. I knew they were pricey and wanted to use them at the best times. Years past and I never used many of them. I finally decided I had to use them up. They are nice and I like them. I love my baths but I still felt they were waisted on me. Would I buy it again? I would consider buying a full bottle of one of them and then it would seem like a better value, but I doubt it.  It was a great gift.
AHA Cuticle Eraser I never used this, ever. It smelt strange (like wet dog, well not the way I know wet dog to smell, but the way others do). Would I buy it again? No.
Clinique Happy I love happy and happy heart. Love! This baby is finally used up though. It makes me sad since my full sized happy heart is almost gone too. Would I buy it again? Yes, but for now I have 5 large roll-ons of different happy perfumes to try to use up.
Various lip and eye products....
The green lip gloss- I thought it would be like spring bean by mac. I liked this Avon lip gloss but never wore it. BTW smells so nice.
Gooey looking tube is Bonnie Belle Clear Mascara- I used this as a brow gel. It got gross as brow gels do. I paid $1 at dollarama for it. I would get it again
Elf Lip liner and brush- eh one colour for lip liner sucked.
Mark lip glosses...time to go. I never wore them, they were nice. But I never wore them
Smashbox mini lip gloss. Smells strange (always did) so it must go.
Elf shadow primer - the mineral version is better so this one had to go.
Hard Candy Liquid liner -this stuff sucked. I've never disliked a HC product NYX glitter liner. This stuff was too runny, half of it disappeared quickly (I don't know how) and Annabelles is better so I am moving up.
Purple lip gloss is the same as the green from avon. I liked it, it smells nice but I never use it.
