Summer is here and sunscreen has taken centre stage in my life. I have two family members who have battled (and won) the war with skin cancer, as a result, I take sun protection very seriously. If that was not enough of a reason to use sunscreen, I am a pale gal, and Mr. Fox is a ginger. In other words, we burn, and we burn bad.

Today I am going to look at my favourite sunscreens of 2018. What have I been using? What have I been loving? Why do I love them so? Here we go...

Coppertone Clearly Sheer Spray Sunscreen - SPF 50

I love a good spray sunscreen! This I can't state enough. As much as I love them, Mr. Fox loves them more. As a man with hairy arms and legs, he finds lotions and gels a bit cumbersome and heavy no matter what, so he likes sprays. He also is pretty prone to breakouts on his body and face, so a spray that feels light and isn't greasy is a must. Throw in a higher SPF for his ginger paleness (it also comes in SPF 30) this spray is where it is at.

Lightweight, breathable and won't cause breakouts, it really is a win-win product.

Aveeno Protect Hydrate Sunscreen - SPF 60

Aveeno is known for being pretty darn gentle on your skin. This sunscreen is also a great moisturizer, hence the hydrate in its name. With a higher SPF of 60 (it also comes in SPF 30 and SPF 45), I really like that it is packed with Colloidal Oatmeal, which is great for sensitive or itchy skin, but also hydrating.

I love that this is a lotion and a sunscreen with a nice high SPF to it.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost - Water Gel Sunscreen - SPF 50

This sunscreen isn't like all the other sunscreens. Now that I sound like a cheesy pickup line, I think I might need to explain why this one is so different.

It is a gel! It is a gel loaded with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and still has a higher SPF of 50. As a result, it is super hydrating, fast absorbing and leaves no white cast. This also makes it great for the face (which they really should advertise more, because darn it, this is a great face sunscreen).

If you want a sunscreen that feels light, hydrating and like a gel, this one is for you. At the end of a day out and about in the sun, my skin usually is a bit dehydrated and needs some serious moisture, but not when I use this. My face loves it, it can breathe and doesn't break out at all, and makeup looks great on top of it.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer - Dry Touch Sunscreen - SPF 110

Sometimes I want a stronger SPF! When I know the sun is out in full force, when I am going somewhere tropical, when I know I am going to be out all day long at a festival or a party, those are the times I reach for a sunscreen with an SPF of 100 or more. I used to get mocked for this, but I really burn bad, and it really is my best defence against that happening.

I have always trusted Neutrogena when it comes to the high SPF factor, in fact, they are the only brand for the longest time that made an SPF 100 product, so it is the only one I buy.

Neutrogena's UltraSheer line is pretty lightweight, so I don't end up feeling like it is heavy or takes too long to absorb. My skin never feels greasy or sticky after using it. It also hasn't caused any breakouts at all on me.

This high SPF sunscreen has saved my skin (literally) dozen of times and for that I love it.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer - Face And Body Stick - SPF 50+

I have been using this sunscreen for a few years now, I love the concept of a stick sunscreen. You can travel with it and it won't count as a liquid when you fly, you can pop it in a purse and never worry about it leaking. With SPF 50 it is a great high SPF, which is what I always look for (an ongoing trend in this post, I know). It is about the size of a men's deodorant stick, so it has plenty of product in it and you won't fly through it quickly.

While I do sometimes use this as my all over sunscreen, it is usually when I am pretty covered up and just applying on small parts like my shoulders, neck and ankles. The main way I do like to use it is as a travel touch up stick. I can touch up my sun protection as needed and it is so easy. I also love to use it on my face, it is great and doesn't actually feel heavy on the skin, it feels hydrating.

Mr. Fox loves to use this on his face, shoulders, back of neck, ears and all the kind of strange place that are sometimes hard to get at with a spray.

Since it also part of the UltraSheer line, it is lightweight and isn't greasy.

Live Clean Sport Mineral Sunscreen Spray - SPF 30

Sport sunscreen are great because they feel dry on the skin, they don't sweat off (or drip into your eyes) and they last in the hot icky long days of summer. Sport sprays are even better because they are really easy to apply and reapply. This one happens to be both, plus a mineral sunscreen!

This is my go-to lake and cottage sunscreen. It is fully biodegradable, making it a great option if you run on a septic tank or swim at a lake, ocean or river.

I really was skeptical of it at first, it sprays out a bit thick and white but smoothed into my skin nicely. I also wasn't sure if an SPF of 30 would cut it for me, but it was great. My skin loves it and it does a great job of protecting my skin from the UVA/UVB rays.

Extra bonuses for this one is Live Clean is a Canadian brand, Canadian made, free from parabens and phthalates, vegan, Reef Safe, non-nano, petrolatum free, silicone free, non-greasy, non-whitening and the aerosol is air-powered with no chemical propellants. Oh, and water resistant for up to 40 minutes.

There you go, my top go-to sunscreens for this summer.

Finding time to get things done, especially at night, is not my thing. I am usually pretty wiped out from my days and get pretty lazy. Lucky for me Aveeno has some great new products from their Positively Radiant line that help me get maximum benefit for my skin with minimal time and effort.

A facial is something I 100% do not have time for right now. Sadly my skin is paying the price. I really love that this product exists for that reason. It is a face wash with a mild chemical exfoliant in it that helps you get your face clean and removes dead skin while you are in the shower. In 60 seconds it cleans, exfoliates and gives you fresher skin. I usually use this after I wash my hair and apply conditioner (I have to leave that on for 2 minutes so it is a good use of the time). The product works with the steam in your shower to work even better.

I really enjoy the texture of the wash, it is creamy with a very minor texture to it. I do find it does a great job of cleaning my face and getting rid of all the makeup and dirt on my face. Like all washes I find it works best when you use a makeup remover first. I like that it is a convent in shower product that I can use when I am already in the shower and not before or after, it almost isn't a step at all.

The only downside is that my washroom doesn't get overly steamy, or I should say it takes a long time to get steamy, so I never know if it could be working better or not. I really want to invest in a facial steamer machine anyways, and I highly suspect it would be great to use with that. WEather or not the steam in my place could be more effective with this product, I do really like that it is meant for in shower use. I now have a cleanser / exfoliant specifically designated for my shower and I reach for it quite a bit just because of that.

Face masks are my favourite skin care thing in the whole world, and sadly I get so busy that even a simple sheet mask will go without being used because I just honestly don't have the time to use them or forget. This might be why I love sleep masks so much, you just use them in place (or in addition) to your normal night time routine and leave them be. While many sleep masks require you to rinse them in the morning, not this Aveeno one, you just leave it on, which I really like.

At night, after you've cleansed, just apply a thick layer of the Overnight Facial and let it do its work. Wake up with softer and nourished skin. Easy, which is why I like it.

It is a pretty normal night cream consistency, not too thick. It also has a minor amount of mica in it, so you will find a shimmer on your face in the morning, which is supposed to leave you more radiant.

Since I have very dry skin, it gets absorbed quickly and doesn't linger too long on it. That being said no night mask dose. I do love the texture and feel of it.

Every morning after I have used it, my skin feels hydrated and soft and generally more plump then when I do not.

Overall, the Positively Radiant line of skin care products is one I really like and these two facial products that save me time and energy are no exceptions. I really like how they work quickly and effectively with no fuss. I usually use the in shower wash at night followed by the sleep mask and wake up with really nice feeling skin, I honestly have been really happy with the results. I would recommend them both to anyone looking to get products that are easy to add to your routine without complicating it, or someone who is looking for a way to get better results from a minimal step routine.

This is one big empties post. November was a good month for tossing stuff.

Clinique Take the Day Off Eye Makeup Remover: There are two of them here, I got the GWP sized bottles at the Estee Lauder Sale a while back. Would I buy it again? Maybe, it works good for a duo phase remover, but I am currently loving my Almay remover (read review here).

The Body Shop Drops of Youth: I picked up a bunch of these at a 3 for $30 sale at The Body Shop. I really like this serum. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have a few more bottles and certainly plan on using them up in time.

Bioderma: I picked up this tiny bottle at my Rexall to give it a try. I like it quite a bit. Would I buy it again? I have a gigantic pump bottle of Marcelle Cleansing Water that I love and want to use it up (read a review that here).

Clinique Toner: I got this GWP sized bottle at the Estee Lauder sale as well. Would I buy it again? Maybe, I didn't find it fantastic but I didn't dislike either.

Biore Steam Activated Cleanser: I used this in the shower on Sundays for about a year. I really liked the feeling it gave my face and how clean it felt. Would I buy it again? Probably not, I have so many cleansers and just don't need any more right now.

Equate Facial Cleansing Cloths: I got these just to try, I needed wipes and didn't want to spend a lot. Would I buy it again? Maybe, they worked OK.

A whole bunch of mascaras: OK so it was time to binge toss some mascaras! So the long and short is I liked all of theses, and loved some. They all get my approval.

Essence All About Matt!: This is the second one of mine that shattered. Sigh.Would I buy it again? No! I like it and love the formula, but honestly I never did anything violent to it, never traveled with it, just stayed in my drawer. It is just to fragile.

Essence Stay All Day Liner: This liner dried up on me Would I buy it again?Maybe, it was a good liner.

Makeup Forever HD Blush: This tiny bottle had a big air bubble that made it dry up on me Would I buy it again? Maybe, a full size might be too big for me.

Rimmel Liner: This forest green liner was a favourite of mine, but the lid cracked and the writing is all worn off. Would I buy it again? I don't think it is made anymore.

Elf Studio Eyebrow Treat and Tame - Treat Half: I love the bow gel part of this but think the growth part dose nothing. Lucky for me the tube I am using right now had some faulty glue, which let this side pop off so I could toss it. Would I buy it again? Not this side, I hate it but I will always love the tame side.

CoverFX Concealer: This shade just never suited me Would I buy it again? Yes, I love CoverFx.

Temptu Concealer Wheel: The case cracked and it is pretty old. Would I buy it again? YES, I just got a new one at IMATS

Elf Studio Foundation: I really like this foundation, more than I would have ever thought. I am tossing this one because it has started to smell and I got a new one to replace it with Would I buy it again? Yes, I just opened my new one.

Revlon Beyond Natural Concealer and Highlighter: This is so old, I really wanted to use it all up but thought its time had come and I should toss it. Would I buy it again? Yes, but I don't think it is still sold.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer: I got this in a Glossybox, sadly it expired in September, so I only got to use about half of it - and I tell you I really tried to use it up Would I buy it again? No, I liked it and it is well priced but I just didn't love it. I give it a B-.

Various Temptu: So a long time ago I got the S/B set from temptu then two of the full sized (02 and 03). I then got the moisturizer and the primer. I also got a OCC primer. They all expired and well I got a new S/B set in the summer. Would I buy it again? I bought the S/B set again and I use it for other peoples makeup, I do like it a lot. The primers and moisturizers I would not.

Bath and Body Works Candles: These are small candles. The leaves is so old it is still in a plastic container while the Black Berry is glass. I liked the smells quite a bit. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have quite a few still.

Crown Brush Cleaner: Would I buy it again? Yes, I just got another one at IMATS.

ELF Studio Lip Primer and Plumper: I have two here. The primer sucked but the plumper was great. I chose to toss them because I stopped using them Would I buy it again? Maybe, I just never used it.

Urban Decay De-Slick: I got this trial size with a gwp bag from Sephora. Would I buy it again? Maybe, I might try another type of their spray another time.

Rosebud Salve: I thought I tossed this a long time ago.Would I buy it again? No, it is essentially pink Vaseline.

Diane Lai Lotion: This lotion is for seriously sensitive skin - and works great. I love the airless pump and the light lavender scent. Would I buy it again? Yes! It works great.

Bath and Body Works Wild-berry Dahlia Hand Soap: I got this for a gift last year. Would I buy it again? I like the bbw soaps quite a bit so I would consider buying it next time I need soap.

Bath and Body Works Wild Berry Tulips Body Lotion: I had to toss this, I got it as a gift last holiday season. While I like it the scent was just too strong and lingered all day. While that sounds great it just wasn't a smell I liked enough to do that and it made me queasy after awhile. Would I buy it again? In another scent yes.

The Body Shop Candied Ginger: This one is old, it was in my stockpile. I believe the scent has been replaced with Ginger Sparkle. Would I buy it again? Yes, I like the smell but definitely don't need any new washes right now.

The Body Shop Monoi Miracle Oil: I like this oil but found it a bit thick. I just wasn't reaching for it anymore so it was tie for it to go Would I buy it again? No, I like the other oils made by them more.

The Body Shop Coconut Milk Body Lotion: This is a spray on lotion, I like it but never find myself using it Would I buy it again? Nope, I like it but I am for the most part tossing 3/4 of a bottle.

The Body Shop Shea Body Butter: I used this one up completely ! I used it in my purse for my hands most of the last month. Would I buy it again? Yes! I loved this body butter.

Salon Grafix Invisible Dry Shampoo: I used this up finally! Would I buy it again? Maybe, I liked it but didn't love it.

Liz Claiborne Palette: This was a palette that I got ages ago. I never used it much so I am tossing it. Plus it got pretty sticky with the coating the case had. Would I buy it again? I don't think it is still a real thing, but no.
