Affordable Beauty: $20 Challenge game plan

by - Sunday, September 02, 2012

So I am planning on going through with the $20 challenge, which is no easy feat  here in Canada.

I've gathered all my value makeup products into two bins and will be creating a few looks over the next few days.
I really hope to come up with some good looks since I believe value brands have come a long way in the last little while.

Here are some brands I hope on using:

NYX
Wet N Wild
Joe Fresh
Avon
Essence
Hard Candy
ELF
the bins
Now I have read some comments from people saying that using ELF is cheating, I'm not really sure how but ok..I mean it is a challenge to use less than $20 and that seems to be a good brand to use.

ELF in Canada is not cheap, if you can find it at Winners it is over double the price of what it cost in the USA (IF you can find it not damaged or at all) and ordering it comes with a hefty shipping price tag no matter what.

I was wondering if people wanted to see more different looks (ex. smokey, natural, bold, green, etc) or more of looks from just one brand (ex. an Essence look, an Elf look, a Joe Fresh look, etc)? So let me know so I can deliver.

Brushes wont count because, heck that would suck.

In the video I am wearing these products. I really didn't bother doing any math before hand so I know I went over.
Joe Fresh Brow Powder in auburn - $2.50
Hard Candy Glamoflauge in Light - $5.95
Hard Candy 1000 Lashes mascara in Mermaid Teal - $5.95
Essence Lipstick in Creamy Nude - $2.99
Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Bling Bling - $2.49
Hard Candy Blush in Living Doll - Came in a set with 3 other products - $5.95
Essence Eye Primer - $2.99
Wet N Wild in Walking on Eggshells - $2.95
Total = 31.77 .

Oh I really went over...crap. Ok I promise to do better next time and not use any discountiued items like the Joe fresh eyebrow powder
