The air is getting crisp, the weather a bit cooler, and Mary Kay has new items for the fall. Today I am going to share with you some new items I was sent from their new Fall launces.
First up there are two new permanent lipsticks that are ooohhhh so fall 🍂🍁. One in their Semi-Matte formula and one in their Semi-Shine formula.
Mary Kay Gel Semi-Shine Lipstick in Downtown Brown / $21
This full-coverage lipstick utilizes gel microsphere technology for rich, stay-true colour that delivers long-lasting wear – without leaving lips looking or feeling dry. Ultrafine silica microspheres actually lock in colour on lips. The lightweight gel formula glides on smoothly and cushions lips, leaving them feeling soft and supple. The clear top window makes finding your favourite shade a snap, whether it’s in a cluttered handbag or makeup drawer.

This best selling shade got a revamp with their newer Gel Semi-Shine Lipstick formula. I am a huge fan of the Gel Semi-Shine formula, it glides on smooth and feels silky and balm like on the lips and lasts a good chunk of time on the lips. Overall excellent wear and feel. As for the shade, this was apparently a best sellers of Mary Kay's until it got discontinued. I understand there is a bit of hype about its return and new formula. It is chocolaty brown with a good amount of shimmer in it.

Mary Kay Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick in Subdued Nude $21
Mary Kay® Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick is the first full-coverage lipstick by Mary Kay to utilize gel microsphere technology for rich, stay-true colour that lasts for hours – without leaving lips looking or feeling dry. With colour this pure, you can saturate lips, delivering a gorgeous level of colour clarity. And with beautiful shades to choose from, it’s a breeze to update your look to match your mood or fit your style. The lightweight gel formula glides on smoothly and cushions lips, leaving them feeling soft and supple. Plus, it’s formulated to provide a soft-focus effect with optical enhancers included to scatter light and blur the appearance of minor imperfections.

This is a new shade added to their permanent Gel Semi-Matte lineup. The formula is great for a matte, it is smooth and creamy washout being drying or cracking. The shade is a pretty nude that leans a bit brown that works for a bunch of skin tones.

Mary Kay Warm Hues Eye Shadow Palette / Limited Edition / $45
Drench your eyes in sunset-inspired shades that take you from dawn ‘til dusk. Bold, custom looks are on the horizon, thanks to six shades in three finishes that offer infinite possibilities. Highly pigmented hues have been constructed into creamy powders with high-colour purity and light-reflective pigments to deliver maximum payout in a single swipe. Feel the velvety texture glide across your eyelids with each application, and enjoy lasting colour, thanks to the power technology behind this stay-put, lightweight formula. Don’t let the sun set on your chance to grab this limited-edition† palette!
What would fall be without a great eyeshadow palette. This palette has a cute little sunset deign showing off the colours of a sunset (and therefor the shades inside it). The Warm Hues Eye Shadow Palette features six very fall warm shades, Golden Possibilities (metallic champagne shade), Bronze Horizons (metallic bronze shade), Peach Daydreams (metallic warm peach shade with glitter), Sienna Skies (matte terracotta), Dream Big Brown (matte warm brown) and Purple Vibes (warm purple shimmer).
Sienna Skies and Dream Big Brown are rich mattes that blend extremely well. Golden Possibilities and Bronze Horizons are creamy metallic that go on rich and blend out super easily. Peach Daydream is supposed to also be a metallic, but it had the worst pay off, no matter what I did I just got a bit of patchy glitter from it. Purple Vibes is also creamy and blends out well, but is a deeper shade that is warm eggplant purple.
Overall this is great fall or travel palette, I am naturally drawn to warm shades like these so of course I really like it.
MKMen Foaming Beard Wash / $21
Cleanse, pamper and refresh facial hair with this multi-benefit foaming wash. A plush foam texture pairs splendidly with the invigorating scent of peppermint to treat the senses. Beard care has never been so delightful! Gift this grooming staple for beards everywhere.
MKmen has launched a limited edition foaming beard wash for the fall, since Mr. Fox has had a beard for almost a decade now, I gave him this to try out and he gave me some feedback on it.
First off he really likes the foaming pump, he finds it easy to apply and he never gets too much product into his beard. He also said the foam made it feel like he didn't have to work as hard to get his beard clean, it was already foamy and ready to go. As for the scent, we both thought mint might be a bit strong for him, but it was mild and pleasant and when rinsed off it lingered just right (sometimes he finds beard products smell too strong and then he is left smelling it all day and interferer with his ability to smell food and work as a chef). He really liked it and thought it was the best beard wash he has tried in a very long time.
I also wanted to note there is a new beard oil that just launched. So, if beard oils are your thing then I suggest you check that out too.
Mary Kay 2-Step Hydrating Sheet Mask (Pack of 8) / $45
Feel hydration with every use of this 2-step sheet mask. The gel essence is filled with skin-conditioning ingredients known to moisturize and soften skin. Since it’s packaged separately from the dry mask, you can create a fun hydration experience whenever you’re ready to be pampered. When mixed with the rich, hydrating essence, the cellulose fiber sheet mask delivers a gel-like experience offering superior skin adhesion, so the mask stays put – whether you’re staying busy while you hydrate or pampering yourself with complete relaxation.
This a is a limited edition face mask that has two parts that combine right before using to really help hydrate your skin, a liquid and a mask side.  Fold it over a few times and squeeze the liquid side to the mask side and massage the liquid into the mask. Apply the mask and wait 15 to 20 minutes before removing.
This was my first time using a two step mask. I highly enjoyed the way the mask felt on my face. It had ton of essence in it when I removed it from the packet which was a great feeling. The fit of the cellulose mask was little on the small side for me, but honestly I would rather have smaller than larger for my face so it was just fine with me. It also stayed put really well while I did things around my house.
Overall, I would say that it was a good experience wearing it. I will also note there was no noticeable scent to it. My skin felt hydrated and soft when I was done wearing it. Not sticky and I didn't need to use any other moisturizers immediately after. So overall it was a great mask for me.
So there you go, what is new at Mary Kay for Fall 2022. Personally I love everything about it. I love that an old favourite lipstick is back and a new one with it too. The sheet masks are fantastic and I hope they become permanent. The hubs loves the foaming face wash which is a great win. Finally the eye shadow palette is everything I want in a fall palette.

It really is rare that I like everything in a launch, but heck it happened this time.

Catrice has released three new limited edition palettes, Basic BAE, Badass BAE and Self-Made BAE. I was lucky enough to receive Basic BAE to try out.
Being basic has never been better with Catrice's Instagram inspired palette featuring 12 intensely pigmented eyeshadows in classic neutral shades with matte and shimmering finishes. Hands up for the basic bae! Shades include: #BASIC, #WIFEY, #SQUAD, #GOALS, #NOFILTER, #MUA, #TWINNING, #EXTRAAF, #MOTD, #MCM, #WCW, #TBT
There are 12 shades in the palette with a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes. They all are highly pigmented, have a buildable formula and easily blended out.
First off I love the packaging, little take out coffee cups on the package is 100% a basic and one hundred percent me. I pretty much have a coffee or tea with me all the time.  I also really thing the shade names are pretty cute with all the common hashtags.
As for the shades themselves, I think they are a great balance of matte and shimmer neutral shades. You can create so many pretty nude looks with it.  They blend out really well and you can layer the shades because the formula is buildable.
At $14.99 I think this palette is worth every cent, it has a much higher-end quality to it that reminds me of some previous Too Faced palettes I got in the past (specifically Sugar and Spice form Holidays 2014).

Overall, I really like this palette and highly recommend it if you are in the market for a new nude palette or just want to try something new. It is compact and sleek with really nice shades that are of great quality. I am going to take a look strong look at the Self-Made BAE palette because it looks so pretty, it is purple and plum tones.

Catrice Cosmetics can be found at select Shoppers Drug Marts, Loblaws and Superstores nationwide.

Mary Kay's fall collection is here! It features two limited edition matte lipsticks and two limited edition quad palettes. I have been playing around with for a little while so I thought I'd share with you what I think of them.
Mary Kay has launched two limited edition palettes for fall. They both feature new and permanent shades from their new Chromafusion line of shadows. They come in their four shadow pan palette, that is magnetic and let's change up were and even what you keep in them.
Mary Kay Chromafusion Radiant Confidence Petite Palette Bundle ($53)
With two mattes and two shimmers, this palette has a good mix of shades for only having four in it. With light shades, a mild peach gold and a popping blue and warm brown it can create a fun look that I think a lot of people will like for fall.
Radiant Confidence
Toffee – A light terracotta matte - I love this shade lid or under my brows. It darker than most shades I would choose for under my brows, but it works out really well and would suit so many skin tones since it is a bit darker.
Golden Peach – A medium golden peach shimmer - This is a nice peachy shimmer with gold in it that goes on lighter than in the pan but can be built up to look darker or used wet for a more bold look.
Radiant Blue – A bright blue shimmer - This blue is bold and bright and oh so shimmery. It comes off bluer when applied. Since I have blue eyes I don't reach for blues often but love this as a liner
Mahogany (permanent shade) – A warm brown matte - This is a great medium darkness warm brown, it works really well for a lot of things, crease, liner and even my brows.

Mary Kay Chromafusion Feel Fierce Petite Palette Bundle ($53)
This one is is a more traditional fall palette that once again has two mattes and two shimmers. I am in love with the super pretty pomegranate and popping Hummingbird as a liner. This one really speaks to me because it is exactly the type of palette I would pick up for fall.
Feel Fierce
Rose Gold  (permanent shade)– A light, rose gold shimmer - this is a light rose gold shade with
Pomegranate – A deep red/pink matte - there isn't much more to say, but it really looks like the shade of the outside of a pomegranate.
Hummingbird – A rich green with purple shimmer - It is hard to describe this one, but it is blue brown shimmer that pops when applied wet. I really enjoy using it as a liner wet.
Onyx  (permanent shade)– A true black matte - This one is a basic matte black, it has a slight blue undertone when swatched but reads black on the eyes. It is quite pigmented and blends out easily. It is by far one of the better matte blacks I've dealt with recently.
Mary Kay's fall collection features two matte lipsticks. I mean would it really be fall without matte lipsticks?  Mary Kay did add some great nude matte lipsticks this past spring to their collection, and I did fall in love with them, so I will these are also pretty awesome and stand up with the same quality.
Matte Lipstick in Tenacious Taupe $20.00
Tenacious Taupe is a great taupe shade that a nice nude taupe shade. Despite me not loving lots of taupe nudes, I really like this one, it is matte but smooth and looks really nice without any patchiness.

Matte Lipstick in Spice Of Life $20.00
Spice of Life is the perfect name for this shade, it is a spicy brick red that leans more blue-toned. It reminds me of the shades I used to wear in the mid-90s but more modern and definitely fall. It goes nicely with the Pomegranate eyeshadow, it is a similar type of shade.

The formula for both is smooth and creamy and almost gel-like, I love how it feels on my lips. When I compare it to other matte formulas I found it much more actual matte while still feeling smooth on the lips.

I created a look using the Feel Fierce palette and Spice of life lipstick.
I used Rose Gold lightly under my brow and in the inner corner of my eyes. I blended that into Pomegranate in the middle of my lids and then my outer third of the lid I used Hummingbird. I then used Onyx as a liner. My lower lid I lined and smoked out Hummingbird. This has been my favourite look to make with it. I also love to just ut Rose Gold on my lid and Hummingbird as a liner for a quick look.
Overall I love this little fall collection. It isn't overwhelming, it is just right. I love the matte lipstick formula, it is soft and non-drying, while the palettes have great mixtures of shades and are soft and blend out extremely nicely.

930 Maverick
Stand up and stand out, Maverick.
You're a rebel with a cause who shines in one of a kind colour. -the back of the package.
Revlon recently launched their Looks Book Eye Shadow Palettes. Aesthetically they are tiny, slim, adorable and feature each palettes name down the front.  Inside is a palette with 8 shades, matte, shimmer and metallic (the Insider palette is all matte). While I honestly thought this palette would be larger before I saw it in person, I was quite happy to see how tiny it actually was.
Maverick features a predominantly burnt orange shade range with some gold tossed in for good measure. At first, it reminded me of the Urban Decay Naked Heat / Naked Petite Heat palettes, both of which I have.
It is slightly smaller than the petite (or a basics) palette, and also thinner, making it a great palette for a purse, touch-ups or even a trip. Most of the shades don't align with the Petite Heat palette, they, for the most part, are pretty different.
On to the pigmentation. This palette amazed me with its pigmentation! I was in shock. I haven't swiped a palette for pay off like this in a long time, none the less from a drug store brand. They are bold and have great pigment to them. They also are incredibly buttery which lends to blending out really well.
An extra bonus is that this palette is made in Canada! Which you know, always gets me.
Overall I am loving this little gem, it has shades I like, a good amount of mattes as well as metallics and shimmer. The pans themselves are a bit tiny, but with the right shadow brush are no problem to navigate. The pigment and buttery texture make this palette well worth its cost. I am going to head out and get the Insider palette because I really want to try an all matte one.

Have you tried any of the Revlon ColorStay Looks Book Eye Shadow Palettes yet?

Spring has sprung and that means a new seasonal collection from Mary Kay. This season has some interesting lip options from deep bold stains to nude lipsticks, highlighter drops to a new palette. Let's take a look.

Matte Nude Lipsticks ($20 / 3.3 g)
Mary Kay has three limited edition matte nude shades for their spring collection.

Baccio Nude is the lightest of the three shades, it is pale beige nude shade. I find this one too light for my skin tone (note I am pretty darn pale), it just doesn't flatter me. Bellissimo Nude definitely darker than Baccio Nude but still relatively light. It is a warmer nude that still is in the beige shade range.  It is a really nice nude for my skin tone and I like it.  Perfetto Nude is similar to Bellissimo Nude but has a peach tone to it. This is by far my favourite, it takes the idea of a nude, but makes it something more with the peach.
Overall these are some creamy mattes that shift around a bit when you wear them but are comfortable because of it. I do wish there were some deeper shades so that more people could wear them. Baccio Nude is the least forgiving of them, I find it shows lines and it patchy in coverage. The other two shades are much better wearing.
At Play Sticks ($17 ):
One of the more interesting items in this new collection is the At Play Sticks. There are colour correcting sticks, contour sticks and a highlight stick.
There are two Colour Correcting Sticks, Wipe Out Redness is green and Ditch Dullness is purple.

There are two Contouring Sticks in Get Sculpted 1 and Get Sculpted 2. 1 is lighter and 2 is darker. Get Sculpted 1 is clearly the one I reach for being pale but is definitely suitable for those quite a few skin tones darker than me. Get Sculpted 2 is quite a bit darker so it is definitely a great option for anyone who has a deeper skin tone.

Finally, we have a Highlighting Stick in the shade Rose Gold Glow. This stick is shimmery with a very peachy rose gold tone to it. This is the only one of the sticks that are not matte. I really wish this was a lighter or less pink toned highlighter. It is more of a shimmering blush for me but would work well on other skin tones.

All of the sticks are incredibly creamy and can be blended out with very little effort. I really like to use a brush to buff them out. While I really love these sticks, I wish there was a peach one for counteracting undereye circles (although Mary Kay has a permanent concealer that is peach).
Illuminating Drops ($25.00 / 15 ml):
Nothing says warmer weather than a bronzy glow. These drops can be used to highlight or to add a sunglow kiss to the skin. They come in a pretty decent sized glass bottle with an eyedropper.

Bronze Light is the darkest of the three new drops. It is a golden-copper shade that is very similar to Benefit's Sun Beam, just a tad bit deeper. Golden Horizon is lighter than Bronze Light and leans more to a true yellow golden shade. Silver Sands is the lightest of the three, it is a rosy silver shade that I think should have a name that reflects that. This one is hands down my favourite of the three.

The formula is smooth and blends out extremely well. I do enjoy adding it to my foundation for an overall glow or to deepen up my foundation in a bronzy manner, but what I really like to do is dab it on my skin for a highlighted glow. My favourite is on the cupid's bow and the apple of my cheeks.
Lip Tint ($21 / 2.5 g):
There are three of these new lip tints, Desert Flora which is a deep purple-red, Magenta Mirage is a deep red and Canyon Coral a basic orange. All the shades go on the lips darker than you may think, your natural lip colour also makes it a bit deeper.

I was most excited to see these babies in the spring collection. They are markers for your lips. Years ago I used to use so many lip stains like this and just adored them. These are different though, they aren't really a stain, they are a tint. Meaning? They are water based and can fade a bit faster and transfer when they get wet. I learned though Rachelle over on Makeup Your Mind's post that it can transfer to your tongue too (eeek)!
Anyways, I actually really do still like these. I like to use them underneath other shades of similar lipstick to give them some extra lasting power or even on their own. The big downside is the tubes will dry up faster than you might like being the marker format that they are.
Perfect Palette ($25):
Finally, we get a new palette. A few months back Mary Kay launched their new ChromaFushion palette system, with eyeshadows, blushes, contours and highlights. There was also two palette options a  Pro (large) and Petite (small), which left the middle range kind of empty. This pretty rose decorated palette fills that gap perfectly.

It has a mirror so it is great to bring with you when you're on the go, but it also holds 4 blush/highlight/contour sized pans or 12 eye shadow pans. I created this cute little palette to show how great it is.
I really like this size and pattern, I really hope they consider making it a permanent item.

So there you go, some new limited edition items from Mary Kay for Spring 2019. I really love the Perfect Palette, the At Play sticks and especially the Illuminating Drops. The Lip Tints are a bit of a miss, but I am still enjoying them, I just don't know if they are worth the hassle of them getting on your teeth and tongue and the lack of long wear. The nude lipsticks have a really nice feel on the lips but not too varied in shade range so probably won't work on a lot of people.

Are you excited for Spring? What beauty products are most exciting to you?
