Beauty Vixen

So it's New Year’s Eve,  and technically a Saturday,  but I thought it would. E a great way to wrap up the year by doing a 5 on Friday post.

I know I haven't done these too regularly but it is a good way of reflecting.

1. I had time off.

While the majority of December is dedicated to work, and the exhaustion that goes along with it, I've had most of this week off. I worked the 27th and 28th and that was it.

I definitely needed the R&R because I was physically and mentally exhausted.  I even got a cold, so I spent the last few days recouping. I'm grateful to be able to have the time off to recover.

2. Christmas!!!!
Christmas happened. Last Friday I went to my brother's for sibling Christmas.  It was cancelled the last two years so I really was excited.  I get to see all my nieces and nephew on my families side. It was much needed and honestly one of the best moments of the whole year for me.

We also did a smaller Christmas at my aunts. It was delicious and was also a great time.  I really love my family and the last 3 years have been really hard on me being so separated.

3. Nanny's Christmas Cookies
My mom made me a Christmas cookie cook book of all my grandmother's recipes. Its sweet and oh so thoughtful.

4. Photo Album
My aunt gave me as a Christmas gift a photo album she made of our family's history. From family trees, to photos to heart felt stories, it's one of the most touching things I have ever been given.

Above is a photo of me as a baby with my mom.

5.Time with the hubby.

The hubs has also had this time off, so we got to spend some time just together.  It's a small thing but it's a nice thing.
We watched Top Gun Maverick and Glass Onion: Knives Out. Both were fantastic!
I hope 2022 was good to you, I hope 2023 is even better. I hope to be a bit more out there next year.

Holiday season is just about here and that means giving time period. I absolute adored the gift giving selection Mary Kay comes up with for the holiday season each year, these are some of my go to products for gifting and I thought I'd show you what they are offering this year
There are some new items and some returning limited edition items and some absolute favourites among it so Let's get started.

Satin Hands Peaceful Pampering Set Citrus Rose $55.00
Mary Kay's Satin Hands set is a must have for me, I haven't been without one in probably a decade. This holiday season their Citrus Rose scent is back for limited time. The limited edition set has 3 steps, Protecting Softener, Refining Scrub, and Nourishing Shea Cream as well as cotton gloves. While I love the Citrus Rose scent, the set is also available during the holiday season in White Citrus and Fragrance-Free.
Mint Bliss Energizing Lotion for Feet & Legs & Holiday Socks /3 fl. oz. / $16.00
After my hands, my feet are my most important thing for me to take care of in the winter, Mary Kay's Mint Bliss lotion is just great for them. I've been using it since last holiday season and it leaves my feet so soft. It is a light but nourishing lotion that has a light minty scent that feels and smells amazing. This holiday season they've bundled up with a free cozy pair socks. I like to lotion up my feet and legs right  before putting them on, in the morning my feet feel so much softer.
Silkening Dry Oil 5 FL. OZ. / 147 ml $24.00
This is a limited edition body oil that helps keep the body smooth and soft while being lightweight. It has a scent that they are calling Peaceful Garden.
Top Notes: Fresh Cut Stems, Bergamot, Cilantro, Muddled Spearmint
Middle Notes: Peony, White Tea, Violet Leaves, Water Lily
Bottom Notes: White Woods, Oak Moss, Musk
I really like this scent, it plays well on my skin. In addition to that I really love how the oil feels on my skin post shower or bath. It is just so soft and lightweight, all the while being hydrating.
Masking Minis / 1.2 oz each  / $20.00
Pampering yourself or others during the cold holiday season is a must, it just is so hard on our skin. Mary Kay has you or you loved ones covered with their Masking Minis, its a duo of two of their most popular face masks. TimeWise Moisture Renewing Gel Mask is a mega hydrating mask that helps soothe dry and chap skin.. ClearProof Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask deep cleans skin and reduces shine and has a gentle cooling sensation (it's the rosemary and peppermint in it). This limited edition set is great because you could break it up and give it as two gifts of give it all at once to someone, or like me keep it for yourself.
Men's Hair and Body Wash Gift Set $30.00
One of my favourite items for holidays past from Mary Kay was this set. It has two fantastic men's Hair and Body washes that my hubby really loved, True Original and MK High Intensity Ocean
Shower all the guys on your list with this scent-worthy set of multitasking hair and body washes and a little mesh drawstring bag.

Both body wash scents aren't available outside this collection, so it is the only time to grab them.

Men’s Fragrance Gift Set .25 fl. oz. each $39.00
Speaking of great gifts for men, this limited edition trio of scents makes for a perfect gift. You get CityScape Cologne Spray, MK High intensity Cologne Spray and MK High Intensity Sport Cologne Spray. Currently this is the only way you can get MK High Intensity in any format.

I personally think it is the perfect gift for any family member who likes these kinds of scents, last year I gave it to a friend and he really liked them all.

Women’s Fragrance Gift Set .25 fl. oz. each $39.00
Just like the men's set, this is a great trio perfect for gift giving. You get Dream Fearlessly Eau De Parfum, Love Fearlessly Eau De Parfum and Live Fearlessly Eau De Parfum.  The three scents were inspired by Mary Kay Ash. Perfect for travel or even just at home, they spritz bottles are great (because I hate roll-ons) and they last a long time being Eau De Parfums.

Last year I gave this to my mother in law for Christmas and she loved it!

I'm very much in love with these lippies, they are just so darn pretty!!! I also love them as stocking stuffers, you can toss one into a stocking or wrap a pack up as a gift.
Highlight Brush & Contour Sponge Set $18.00
This is a cute little brush and sponge set, the perfect gift for any makeup lover in your life. The set has a mini Highlight Brush, brush guard and mini Contour Sponge. My one niece is just getting into makeup for fun, and I totally remember that stage of my life, I think of how cool it would have been to have gotten brushes like this at that age. I also just adore Mary Kay's brushes, they are some of my favourites to use.
So there you go, all the limited edition products that Mary Kay has available this holiday season. I personally love all of them and think they would make great gifts.
