I've been to Ikea a lot recently, it is just 10 minutes from my house. I have finally gotten everything I need complete my new Vanity-Desk.

So my vanity-desk is made up of the following:
  • HELMER-as legs (2) $49.99 each
  • VIKA AMON -as the table top (100 x 60 cm) it was $9.00 for the white version only.
  • RIBBA Frames- these are used to hold up the shelf $4.99 each
  • ANTONIUS Shelf- This holds up my monitor (79x28cm) $6.00
Also:
  • LENNART Drawer System -This is I guess a paper storage system, it has 3 large drawers. I've slid it between the two helmers - $14.99

Above and on the desk I used:
  • RIBBA Shelf - Two of these picture shelfs provide me with storage for bottles and smaller items (55cm long) $9.99
  • DEKA Curtian - This inexpensive curtain set holds photos and dries my brushes for me $9.99
  • NORRORA - These come in sets of two (one big and one small) I have two small and one large on my shelf $6.99
  • LAGRA - This light is clipped to one of my shelfs...I generally keep it there for extra light $3.99
all done...shelfs and all
Non Desk Items:

IDEAL Candle Dish - I am going to put my perfumes on this somewhere else in my room (25x25cm) $7.99
MOGDEN Jar With Lid - I am putting this in the washroom to hold Q-Tips $4.99

Sunday is my Satuday, and by that I mean the first of two days off. I usually try to get some things done around my place on Sundays...today was a big one.

Last Sunday it was cleaning out the closet this sunday it was setting up my new desk/vanity and putting together a sink cabinet from Ikea.

The desk/vanity went smoothly, and will look better when the full damage from the radiator leak is fixed (the floor isn't done so the bed is moved right over and everything smooched into my vanity/desk area) and my shelves are put up. Trust me when it is done it will look amazing.
Here is a sneak peek. The keyboard and track pad can be slid underneath the monitor for more table top room when needed.
As for the sink cabinet, it was a Fullen and I got it on sale for under $25. Unfortunately for me when I opened the box I saw this...
Damage. Horrible damage. Parts in tissue paper and duct tape. Ughh. Sooo, I hauled myself onto the bus and went to Ikea on a Sunday! Let me repeat, Ikea on a Sunday!!!!

I made the best of the situation and after waiting 40 minutes for the exchange I went and got myself a meatball dinner.  I also went to the store and got some cookies and chocolate. The heart shaped cookies are amazing!!
After all this I finally put the cabinet together and the final result...
It mainly holds the toilet paper that we have no place to store and epsoms salts. I am very happy with it.

I am using the term Vanity loosely here...really it is a desk, but it is what I had and I hate to toss a perfectly good desk for no reason.
I made a video, I hope you all like it.
Things I used to organize:
  • Dollarama Vases  $2 each
  • Dollarama Vase Filler $2 a bag
  • File sorters from walmart about $4
  • Boxes - various gift boxes and boxes from Dollarama
  • Drawer organizers - Dollarama $1 a package
