Beauty Vixen

Well, 2020 is over. That is a thing. I don't really know what to say about the year and I am sure you have  all heard it before and don't need me to drag on about it. With that I will present my favourite 5 for 2002.

Keep in mind I spent 2 months off work, then worked insane hours, had several breakdowns and just have not cared much about my appearances but more on my mental health.

Perspirex Comfort

Perspirex is one of those things I don't think of often but when I do all I have is love for it. I have used it for years and now they have a comfort version for those that are a bit more sensitive. I love that I can apply it and not worry about bathing or showing it off for a few days. I also love that in past years when I swam it wouldn't wear off either. And in the summer, I cannot state how great it is because lordy lordy so I sweat a lot in the summer and this stops and subsequently stops the smells.

Dr Teal's Relax & Relief /Eucalyptus & Spearmint

I love Dr Teal's (read previous posts on them here)! I buy their stuff all the time. 2020 has been a year of baths and me trying to control my anxiety. I went through about 5 bags of their bath salts, but right now I am using this mini one from a holiday set I picked up at the store.

I also love a good bubble bath so I also am always picking up that. I am using the Relax & Relief which happens to be Eucalyptus and Spearmint formulated one form the same set.

L'oreal 8 Second Miracle Water

I picked this up at the start of March before the first lockdown. I had long very damaged hair and I loved how well it smoothed and helped my hair feel softer and silkier. I stopped using it for a while because we were locked up and no one could see it. After my hair started to fall out  due to stress it really felt terrible so I started to use it again. I have to say it really did help what remaining hair was there. It feel smoother and softer.  It also does a fantastic job of combating frizz in humid weather.

Catrice Camouflage High Coverage Concealer

I wrote about these twice before and I have to say I adore them. These are the best concealers I have tried in a very long time. I can use just them alone or with foundation or BB cream. I pretty much love how they cover, are creamy and blend out. The beige tone of Porcelain is specifically amazing for my undereye circles.

Too Faced Shake Your Palm Palms Palette

It has been a while since I gave a mini palette from Too Faced a try. Well actually not true, the year before I tried the Hot Butter Rum one and loved it. When I picked this one up in the summer on sale I wasn't too sure if it would be great or no. I am just super happy with it. I love the shades, the finishes and looks I can create with it.  I really feel going forward I will probably be purchasing small palettes like this so that as trends and styles change I wont feel so bad about getting rid of large palettes or spending so much on them.

There you go, 2020... it was something.
Let me know what you loved last year!!!

It is that time of year again, the Sephora VIB Rouge sale happened and I went and bought a lot of stuff while I could get a discount on it.

I honestly only got the last of my orders the other day due to the ongoing Canada Post strike so I know it is a little late, but anyways here it is.

Sephora Collection: Enchanted Sky Palette ($13)
The last few years I have been extremely impressed with Sephora Collection's limited edition holiday products. I have used the palettes non-stop and have just loved their pigmentation, blendablity and colours. Of course, I was excited about this year's products as a result. Sadly there weren't as many smaller palettes, but I did manage to pick this guy up. It runs for $13 regular price and is extremely pigmented and buttery. I love that it is little and kind of a no-frills palette while still looking festive.
Sephora Collection: The Glowy Surprise ($17)
How cute is this? It is a holiday cracker style gift set. The gold sleeve slides off if you want to give it as a gift or put it on a table. A side note, I just saw a sneak peek at the Black Friday deals and saw there were two new Suprise crackers, so those should be exciting.

It contains a highlight stick, blush stick and long-lasting lipstick. The shades for the face seem to be holiday limited editions but the lipstick is a permanent item.
Sephora Favourites: Sunkissed Glow($48 /on sale for $24)
I have not picked up Favourites Set (that isn't a lip one) in so long, but they always deliver on value and variety.  This one features bronzer from some top selling brands and even has full-sized Ciate product. I have Benefit Hoola and Tarte Park Avenue Princess, which means I will be tossing them into some co-workers Xmas gifts.
Bite: Agave Treat Trio Mini Agave Lip Mask Set ($20)
I love Bite oh so much. Every year I pick up at least one set. This year I am treating my lips to their lip mask set. I am most excited for the Candy Cane one but I have also loved the Maple in the past.
TOO FACED: Gingerbread Spice Eye Shadow Palette ($59), The Sweet Smell of Christmas-Mini Melted Liquid Lipstick Set ($32), and Melted Gingerbread Girl Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick  ($25)
Soooo, yeah I went gingerbread crazy. I really wanted the Gingerbread palette, so I got it. It is so pretty and it smells so yummy. I also picked up Gingerbread Girl Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick to go with the Gingerbread Boy I already had as well as the set of 4 minis. I can say everything here is amazing and I am so glad I managed to get them all.
FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA: Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set ($28)
I really haven't tried much from Fenty yet, but everyone says I need Bomb Baby and this set seemed like a good value to try it out. I am pretty excited.
Makeup Forever: Empty Palettes ($2)
I have a few MUFE items that need a palette and these magnetic babies work well with many other shadows too, so I thought it would be a good time to get some more of them.

So there you go, all the goodies I picked up this year during the sale. I am pretty happy with myself.

What did you get during the Holiday VIB, VIB Rouge and BI sale?

Every once and a while, Sephora releases a Sephora Favourites 'Give Me Some Lip" set. Last year there was great nude lip set, this year they are doing it again.

Filled with full size and minis of various nude shades, this set is a great way to try out a bunch of new lip products at a great price.

It costs $33.00 Cad and has a value of $103.00, it has 2 full sized and 4 minis in it.
The set contains:
- 1.55 g (mini) Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Honeycomb (beige nude)
- 1.55 g (mini) Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian (nude)
- 0.25 g (full sized) Estée Edit The Barest Contour lip Liner in 05 In The Buff (satin nude)
- 1.7 g (mini)  Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème in 246 Slow Burn (creamy nude rose)
- 2.3 mL(Mini) Too Faced Cosmetics Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick in Queen B (matte soft mauve)
- 3.4 g (full sized) Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 1993 Comfort Matte (medium brown)
Urban Decay's 1993 and Estee Edit liner in The Buff work perfectly together making it great that you get a full size of each (less chance of running out of one). They are both mid range brown shades.

Bite has won me over in the last few years with their lipsticks, I already had Honeycomb as a mini from their xmas Perfect Bite Set so this one is going away until I finish the other. I can say it has quickly become my go to nude.

Buxom provides this years lip gloss option with White Russian. I also have this from a past set too. I seem to have never reached for this one, so I am going to give it more of a go now. It is a more opaque lip gloss that has a pinky nudeness to it. I find it can really create lines on your lips when it settles.

Marc Jacobs' Slow Burn is a rosy nude. I have two other mini MJ lipsticks but never wear them, maybe this one I will get more wear out of.

Too Faced's Queen B provides the long-wearing matte gloss in this set. I actually really am liking the Melted Matte line, so I am glad to try out another one. This nude runs more mauve then the rest.
Overall I am liking this set. I get to try out some new products for a great price (UD lipsticks run $21). I think it is worth checking out if you are in the market for some new nude shades in your life.

What do you think of the set?

The Fall Sephora VIB Rouge Sale came and went and I managed to haul a bunch of goodies.

Sephora Cat Nap Eye Mask ($18)
I picked one of these up last year and fell in love with it, so I thought why not get this years. This years is white with some gold trim on it.

Too Faced Naughty Kisses & Sweet Cheeks ($45)
I am a big fan of Too Faced, as such I can never resist getting something during the holiday season. This set is great because I get to try out their Lip Injection formula and get three new Love Flush Blushes.
Each blush gets a matching lip gloss and are packed in little boxes that say TO and FROM on them, making them great break apart gifts. I plan on keeping all three though, because all these are just too pretty.
The set has in it Lip Injection gloss in Milkshake and Like a Boss and Ultimate Lip Plumper. Love Flush Blush in Crazy in Love, Baby Love and Dream Lover. All are in deluxe sizes. The glosses sell for $17 alone in this size so I think the value is pretty good.

Too Faced Merry Kissmas The Ultimate Liquified Lipstick Set ($32)
This Too Faced set is all about lips, featuring 4 deluxe minis of their Melted line I just had to have it.
It comes with Melted Liquid Long Wear Lipsticks in their best selling shades Chihuahua and Fig. It also has a Melted Chocolate shade in Honey and a Melted Matte in Lady Balls (a fantastic red for the holidays).
Beauty Blender Liner.Designer Pro ($22)
I have been eyeing this beauty blender item for a while. It has gotten a bit of mixed reviews.
Essentially it is a little soft silicone guitar pic shaped device that sticks to your skin and lets you make eye liner flicks easier. It comes in a case with a mirror and a suction cup for the mirror so you can put it on a wall. This particular silver toned case is a VIB exclusive item.
BECCA Glow on The Go Shimmering Skin Perfector Moonstone Set ($24)
I got one of these mini sets last year in Opal, I loved it so much. I also chipped the powder and then it just popped out of the pan onto my desk. I was really upset, I have better hopes for Moonstone.
Moonstone has a lot more sparkle to it then Opal if you ask me.
I also redeemed 100 points for a deluxe Too Faced Melted Matte in Sell Out.
So that's all I went and splurged on, I didn't go too crazy and I think the gift sets got me more bang for my buck.

Did you get anything at the sale?

Too Faced is known for their bronzers and their vast selection of them. Their Little Black Book Bronzers features their complete collection of bronzers so you don't have to choose just one to try out, you can try them all.
Best of all they are all permeant selections, so if you fall in love with one (or two, of all of them), you can go an buy a full sized. It basically a great way to try a bunch of bronzers out without guilt and get yourself a full bronzer wardrobe without the full commitment.
Each bronzer comes in a  smaller format, hence the "little" in the palettes name, but all are a great size if you ask me, plus there are 8 in it.
Chocolate Soeil:
This is a classic bronzer and probably the most famous in the set. It is a matte bronzer that contains cocoa powder and it actually smells like chocolate! I like this one for contouring since it is matte and blends so well.

Milk Chocolate Soleil:
Just like the Chocolate Soeil, it contains cocoa powder and is matte, but it is lighter. Because I am so fair I love this one for my everyday bronzing needs.

Dark Chocolate Soleil:
just like the other Soleils this one is gorgeous, smells like cocoa and is matte, but it is deeper. While I am definitely too pale of a gal to pull this one off on a daily bases I have used it a bit lightly mixed with the Chocolate Soleil when I contour and have really found it is a great blendable bronzer.

Snow Bunny:
This is a bronzer that I consider also a blush. It has 4 stripes on it, two bronzer shades, one pinker and one that is a highlighter. It isn't easy to just select just one so your best bet is to just blend them all together for a luminous bronzer-blush shade.

Pink Leopard:
This bronzer features 3 shades in a  leopard spotted design in it.  When swished it all together you get bronzer that is glowy and stunning. It has a lot more pink shades in it, which is why it is a great blush for the fairer and a great illuminator for those with darker skin tones.

Beach Bunny:
Just like Snow bunny this is a striped bronzer. This features 4 stripes of bronzy and glowy shades that can be blended together to make luminous glow bronzer. Since it doesn't have the pink shade in it like Snow Bunny you can wear it just as a bronzer or as a bronzer blush.

Endless Summer:
This one should last you 16+ hours (hence the endless part of its name), it also has a pretty nice glow to it.

Sun Bunny:
Featuring two shades this laminating bronzer has a pretty pink undertone that gives you a bit of a flushed look to your face. You can mix and blend the shades to make it lighter or darker depending on your needs/wants.
So there you go, Too Faced Little Black Book of Bronzers, a palette that is super cute filled with 8 great bronzers for what every your needs or moods are. I love this set because I am not the biggest bronzer user, so a full sized of any of these would never get used up, so now I can indulge in a bunch of different choices without guilt of having 8 full sized hanging around.

You can pick it up at TooFaced.com.

Flush all day and night with the blush of true love. The long-wear, fade-proof, smudge-proof formula keeps your cheeks perfectly flushed for up to 16 hours. Pigment-rich, high-impact shades give a pretty pop of color for any skin tone. -toofaced.com
Too Faced's Love Flush is a line of long lasting blushes that just so happen to be packaged in the most adorable heart shaped compacts. They also have really cute song related names, an adorable floral and bunny pattern on them and mirrors on their lids and the colours on the compacts match the colour of the blush inside. So, yeah they are pretty darn cute.

They go on really smooth, are super pigmented (a little goes a long long way so be careful when applying) and they just plain fantastic.
I got the colours  How Deep Is You Love? (a Watermelon Pink), I Will Always Love You (a Gilded Peach), and Love Hangover (a Perfect Warm Pink, according to Too Faced).
They claim to last 16 hours, but I don't feel any blush lasts that long on me. But what I can say is, they are pigmented and because of that they do last.
These swatches took so little blush to make. I just barley swabbed them with a q-tip and picked up so much blush.

I love how smooth and even they are when they go on, no patchiness here. They also are just so vivid, it wouldn't take much to get this really built up on someone. I also feel the shades could work on so many skin tones.

The Love Flush blushes are a permanent item and can be found at TooFaced.com or Sephora. They free of  parabens, sulfates and phthalates, which is always a great thing.
I personally am in love with all three that I have, but I think How Deep Is Your Love? is my favourite. It is so vivid and bold, it also is just a fun colour, and well yes that song has been stuck in my head for days.

Have you tried any of the Love Flush blushes yet? What do you think of them?
