Beauty Vixen

NIVEA is one of those brands that I know all of you have heard of and most of you have used as some point in time. With over 100 years of experience behind them and over 100 million jars old each year, NIVEA knows what they are doing when it comes to skin care.

NIVEA Creme

NIVEA Creme wont clog pores, is great for your body, face and hands. This is NIVEA's standout and most iconic product and for a very good reason. My mother has used this everyday for as long as I can remember, in fact it is the only product she has ever used on her skin.
I love that it can be applied thinly as a rich moisturizer or thicker for an almost mask like product to really hydrate my skin when it is parched.
NIVEA's Creme is gentle enough to use on children, I clearly remember using it when I was a kid and I would get pink wind burned skin from playing out in the snow for hours. As an adult I like to use it when my hands and arms start to crack and get chap. Most products contain too much water and fragrance for these areas and can cause my skin to actually start to get really red and inflamed (I say angry) and will actually burn (a lot!!!).  NIVEA's Creme never dose this to my skin, it just soothes my skin and provides really rich hydration to it.

Creme has been a staple to me all my life, I guess it has always been in the background, but I doubt I could actually live without it. A small tin can last you a very long time, a large tin possibly forever. I know for a fact my mom keeps one on her vanity, her purse, office and car, and I don't blame her one bit. If you've been debating trying out this iconic product or have just forgot about it, I recommend you pic up a tiny jar and give it a try.

Q10plus Anti-Wrinkle Replenishing Pearls

This serum features a clear gel that has bright yellow pearls inside it. When pumped the pearls get crushed and released with the gel. The result is a moussy textured serum that absorbs into your skin quickly and easily while feeling incredibly light.
Coenzyme Q10 is something our skin lose as we age, causing aging and wrinkles. Q10plus Pearls helps restore that Q10 to your skin. The pearls are a concentrated form of Coenzyme Q10, which results in a highly potent product that becomes active when crushed into its serum.
Being in my 30's, fine lines and wrinkles have become more and more of a concern of mine. I want to fend them off the best I can as soon as I can. My skin has always been very dry, so a serum is always part of my routine to try to boost my hydration levels as much as possible. The idea that a serum can have powerful anti-wrinkle properties like Q10 in it while still being light and quickly absorbed by my skin is quite the amazing thing. My skin gets the hydration and anti-aging ingredients it needs in one easy step that is light and feels great on my skin.

Coenzyme Q10 is just one of its key ingredients, it also contains Hylauronic Acid and Creatine to help combat fine lines and wrinkles. The pearls in serum formal results in a fresh and active formula with every pump.

I love how smooth and soft my skin feels after applying the serum to my skin. I feel my skin is feeling more hydrated and looks less dull and more youthful the last few weeks that I have been using it. This one is definitely staying in my daily routine, because I am loving it.
Have you ever tried these products from NIVEA? Is their Creme a classic staple in your life too?

*These products were sent to me for review, all opinions are my own.

I avoided doing my empties post last month, so this months has it in it too.
L'oreal Total Repair Extreme Shampoo and Conditioner I used these both up at the same time, sort of shocking, that never happens. The shampoo is just as creamy as the conditioner and they both work very well to help restore damaged hair. If you like the Total Repair 5 line you will like this too. Would I buy it again? YES! I really really liked this and the shampoo helped convert me back to a shampoo user at 4.5 years of being co-washing my hair
Avon Naturals Kids Amazing Apple Detangling Spray I used up one of these and then bought this one right away. I really liked it. Sadly this bottles pump never wanted to work. So I bought a new spray bottle and used it right up Would I buy it again? No, the pump thing pissed me off, it just was strange how it would spray but not well and suck the bottle inward. I plan on trying another brand of detangling spray next time.
Bath and Bodyworks Shea Cashmere Dry Shampoo I love the smell of this, so does my husband. After one use it went haywire, squirted straight out and ruined my hair. Here read these reviews READ! See I am not the only one who hated it. Plus it was crazy empty after that two uses, like empty. I am going to take it back at some point for a refund or swap, that is one good thing about BBW, they have a guarantee on all their products. Would I buy it again? No, this product is pure crap.
L'oreal Preference Conditioner  I have tons of these hanging around, so I finally used it up.
Boscia Recharge Night Moisturizer I got this in a glossybox, and I finally used it all up Would I buy it again?  No, I didn't like it very much.
Marcelle Soothing Cleansing Water I got this bonus size a while back and finally used it up. By far one of my favourite cleansing waters. Would I buy it again?  Yes, in fact I got another one at the Lisa's sale this spring.
Marcelle Hydra C Gel  This was a staple for me for a long long time. I've maybe gone throughout 3 of them over time. I love that it is a gel that keeps my skin very hydrated Would I buy it again?  Yes, definitely, but for now I want to use up some of the skin care I have hanging around.
Ponds Wipes I used these up quick. I got them on sale and they did their job quite well. Would I buy it again? Maybe, if they are on sale, other wise I'm buying generic wipes.
Nivea Lip Balm I got this also in a glossy box. I don't like it, it is soft and smooshes too easily. Not that hydrating ....mehhh Would I buy it again?  No.
B. Kamis Lip Balm Also a  glossybox item....meehhh. It was ok, nothing special. Would I buy it again? I don't think they make it anymore, but $21 for a lip balm is too much.
Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Gel Lotion L-Bifidus & Grape I got a bunch of these a long time ago when they were on sale and I had a coupon. I think they cost me $2 each. Now they are sold in a larger size with a pump. I am the worst for moisturizing and yet I have the driest skin ever. This helped because it was a gel that got absorbed fast. Would I buy it again?  Yes, I have another in  Peach Oil (think like apricot seed oil) and I am quickly using it up.
The Body Shop Honeymania Bath Melt I used this up fast. It does create a wonderful bath filled with lots of bubbles. Would I buy it again? No, I am trying not to use Honey/Sugar in any of my bath items from now on.
The Body Shop Honeymania Body Scrub I think this scrub is great for its creamy factor but sucky for its far to fine crystals. I can't scrub anything with crystals this fine. Would I buy it again? No, sticking with the Satsuma scrub or others.
The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter I like this butter because it is Satsuma scented, but really wish it was a bit thicker. Would I buy it again?  I don't know, I have a massive stockpile to work through before I can buy any more body products, butters included.
Bath and Body Works Fresh Picked Body Wash in Tangerines I got this for xmas from a client, I really liked it. I mainly used it for baths and not as a shower gel. It smells very fresh and fruity. Would I buy it again? I don't think it is still sold by bath and body works, but if I ever use up my stock pile I would consider it.
The Body Shop Almond Hand and Cuticle Cream  I finally used this tube up.  It is a very light and fast absorbing hand lotion. Would I buy it again? I would consider it, right now I am using the rose version.
L'oreal Youth Code Serum Corrector I finally used up this great serum. I love the regular version this one seemed to work a bit at diminishing my barley there skin pigmentation. Would I buy it again? Yes.
Hard Candy Lash Call Mascaras  I cannot believe I still had these. They were hidden away somewhere and I thought I had tossed them years ago. These were fun bright mascaras I never wore too much Would I buy it again? No, I don't need bright coloured mascaras but they were good for what they were.
Masque Bar by Look Beauty I got this handed to me on the street during TIFF this year. It appears to be a new brand at Shoppers Drug Mart.  Would I buy it again? I don't know yet. I wonder how much they cost. I have a second one that I want to try out before making any choices.
Pari Beauty Precious Glow I never ever use this shimmery eye primer Would I buy it again? No, it just isn't for me
Elf Mineral Eye Brightener I love this. I hated the studio version, it was just all big sparkles, but this is fantastic for setting the skin under your eyes. Would I buy it again? Yes, already on my next jar of it.
Elf Studio Eye Primer & Liner Sealer I had this a while, and I just decided it was too old and should be tossed. I never used the liner side much but more the primer. I feel the primer is comparable if not better than Mac Painterly. Would I buy it again? Yes, I already have a new one on the go.
Wet N Wild Fergie Liner  This was dried out when I opened it and I just failed to toss it until now. Would I buy it again? I would try it again if I saw it, but I don't think it is sold in Canada.
Maybelline Fit Me Stick Foundation I bought this in the exact same shade I have the liquid in and they pother a perfect match. I completely empties this and even scooped the innards out. I absolutely adore this foundation! Would I buy it again? Yes, I want another one right now, but I am determined to use up a few foundations first.
Delon Nail Polish Remover  This was a dollar store purchase. I got it because I really needed a nail polish remover and it is made in Canada. It worked quite well. Would I buy it again? Maybe, I didn't mind it
Bath and Body Works Candle in Apple Crumble I used this tiny candle up. Not my favourite scent. Would I buy it again? Nope.

Oh my, I missed my July empties post, so this one is big!
L'oreal EverCream Cleansing Conditioner: I love this stuff, as a devoted co-pooer (seriously check out this post here, I will be doing an updated routine sometime in the fall) I believe I need this stuff to live now. Would I buy it again? Yes, I am already working on a new bottle.
Sebastian Re-Shaper Hair Spray: so I got this back when Glossybox was in Canada as a gift from them. It is worth $20, but it doesn't work!!!! There is propellant in it, AT ALL! I can only get trickles out. No the nozzle is not clogs, just not excellent. So I have to toss a full bottle of pricy product. Would I buy it again? No, that is a lot for hair spray.
Avon Advanced Techniques Serum: I liked this, but I used it up. Would I buy it again? Probably not, I like other serums more. It was a great value though.
L'oreal Precious Oils Colour Radiance: I loved this oil so much. It was cheap, big, worked well. Nothing bad to say at all only love for it Would I buy it again?  Yes!!! A million times yes, but for now I am using the L'oreal EverSleek Precious Oil Treatment (which I also love).
L'oreal Everstrong Reconstructing Conditioner: I got this to repair my over coloured hair, I also saw it was the only conditioner with protein in it...so yeah that was another reason I got it Would I buy it again? Yes, I am currently working on another bottle I got on sale. I love the scent too!
Bath and Body Works Butterfly Flower Bubble Bath: I loved the scent Butterfly Flower, this was an ok bubble bath, I feel the body wash would have worked just as well. Would I buy it again?  sadly discontinued scent
Neutrogna Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock spf 100: I got a friend to get me this in the USA, I love the high spf. Would I buy it again? Yes, sadly not sold at this high an spf in Canada, I would however consider buying something with a lower spf in the same formulation.
The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body Butter: I love cranberry , but this older batch smells strange on me so I am tossing it Would I buy it again: Yes, Cranberry Joy is a classic holiday scent that I love.
All these broke!!! So mad. I replaced the Essence and the Hard Candy, both which shattered. May I note Hard Candy, while a fantastic company, had crap packaging where the hinges will often break. Thee Hard Candy Bronzer was in Tiki. The BBW Perfume was Beautiful Day and the highlighter was a mini Jose Maran. I liked all of them and was sad to loose them.
Just listing the mascaras, bottom to top Avon Superextend, Marcelle Power Volume, Elf Eye Makeup remover pen, Max Factor Vivid Impact Mascara (x) and Avon Superextend Extreme. I like them all, I would rebuy the Avon Superextend and Marcelle right away.
Elf Primer: I buy it because it is cheap. Would I buy it again? Yes, I've got a new one and some colour corrector ones right now.
Elf Lip Lock Pencil: You are supposed to put it around your lips to prevent bleeding, it goes on clear and waxy. It is quite old so I am tossing it. Would I buy it again? Yes, I got a new one started.
The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Lip Butter: I love the texture of their lip butters. The lemon one reminds me of lemon curd. It is pretty old and starting to smell off. Would I buy it again?  Sweet lemon is no longer in production, but I would consider it in another scent.
Avon Anew Rejuvenate Glycolic Facial Treatment: This bottle has a pre-measured dropper to put glycolic acid on daily. Would I buy it again? Yes, I think Avon has renamed the product though.
Nivea Rich Regenerating Night Care: I got this so long ago, I am finally just tossing it. Would I buy it again? No, it is just too thick, even for me.
New SKin Scar Therapy: I got this to try to make some of my more prominent new scars fade faster or look less three dimensional (puffy). I gave up after a while. Would I buy it again? No! I don't think it works at all. Just grease.
Joe Fresh Fresh Glass Lip Gloss: This might be the worst gloss ever. Smells strange, tastes worse, no pigment  Would I buy it again? NO!
A whole load of polishes!!! I am choosing to toss these because I will never wear them again. There are also two perfume rollers filled with an old classic of mine, The Healing Garden's Green Tea. I loved the scent so much when I was a teen that my hubby got me a whole bunch when they were on clearance when we first dated (way back in 2000)....for some reason I found these in a box a while back. I must toss them but I am a bit nostalgic looking at them.
These dollarma wipes I found in my closet, they must have fallen back there a long time ago. I used to use these for wiping up spills on my desk and cleaning up after swatching. I heard that last year many of these had bacteria in them and were recalled, never again will I buy them.
Davids Tea Main Squeeze 28 g  I used up this one time use pack to make a big jug of ice tea. I really liked it, but Mango Fruit Punch is still the best fruit iced tea around Would I buy it again?  No.
Davids Tea Mamma Mia 50 g  I used this one up quite quickly. I love it for its strong Hibiscus taste and the tang that comes along with it. Would I buy it again? Yes, I might get some next summer.

This past Monday I took some time to go to the Lisa's Costmetics Warehouse Sale. This sale is a big favourite of mine, held twice a year in the spring and in the winter, I often find some great deals and amazing gifts at very amazing prices.

This was my fourth time at the sale and probably the first time I got my self absolutely no makeup whatsoever. I purchased perfumes for others, smashbox sets for a friend, nivea for mothers day and chocolates for others too. In fact the only thing I got myself was 3 magnetic polishes, tweezers, 3 sets of lashes, a chocolate bar and a tin of cookies.

There were still amazing Smashbox sets from sales back, but nothing new, so nothing struck my eye. Lots of great Annabelle products, but  I had all the liners I wanted. Really I am shocked I got myself nothing. I even said heck, I am getting a perfume, something big for myself (at a cheap price), but nothing struck my fancy. I feel kinda strange about this situation, have I finally reached my makeup limit?

Any way this what I got

3 Tivoli magnetic polishes ($2.99 each)
3 Tivoli lashes ($1.49 each)
2 Cadbury tins of cookies ($9.99 each, one is for my mother in law)
1 Cadbury chocolate bar 230 g ($4.99)
1 tweezers ($)
1 L'eau D'issey Gift Set -1 x 50ml Eau De Toilette Spray, 1 x 100ml body lotion (not going to say price since it was a gift, but a REALLY good price)
1 Nina by Nina Ricci 50 ml ($40.00 picked up for a friend)
1 Smashbox Beauty Bliss Collection ($25.99 picked up for a friend)
1 Nivea 400 g ($6.99, gift)
1 Lysol wipes ($1.99)

Overall I still think it is a great place to grab a mother's day or father's day gift, or heck any gift. If there were new Smasbox set I would have probably grabbed at least one. I still believe the sets are a great deal, the mini primers are worth the $25.99 alone, none the less all the other great stuff inside.
Perfume seems be the the star of the show, and as well it should be, most are over 50% off and a great deal with a huge selection. My mother picked up her husbands favourite cologne, for half of what she paid for just a bottle at Christmas she got a four piece set! Annabelle lipsticks were $1.99 so she got a few of those too.

There is really nothing bad to say about this place.
Go early and expect a line. Well worth the trip.
