Ok, so here goes. Rembmer when I got the Maple VoxBox and it had Impress Manicure Nails in it? Well here is a link to the  review on the nails that I did for that box.

Now here is the thing, Inflenster sent me another VoxBox (yippie) this time filled with two sets of Impress Manicure Nails.

So it is kind of odd that all the tasks are just about the same and I already did them.

But any who I am going to do a quick little post about the nails and my mani that I did with them.
The nails I recived
First off let me say that I do really like these nails and a week before getting them I bought two sets at the Lisa sale. That being said, I do not like the one pattern I was sent....so with that I am using them to demo this post. There is nothing wrong with them, just not me, no no no they are not me. Who they are, I do not know.
What's inside
More of what is inside
So my first step is to always dup the nails out and lay out the ones that will fit the best. This time I wasn't so sure on my middle fingers so I put out two.
Then I wash my hands, dry them, use the file (oh who am I kidding, I use my own nail file) and then wipe them down. Now we get to the exciting part, peeling. Start with you non dominant hand and work pinkie to index then do your other hand. Then thumbs. All you do is peel the tab off and pale down. I like to hold them down for a few seconds so they really stick
For some reason I started with my ring finer, but here it is,
The end result:
I do find they don't stick to the ends of my nails well, leading to a gap that collects both dirt and pulls my hair when I run my hands through it.  I  have never worn them for more than a  weekend since these really don't hold up to the type of wear and tear a dog grooming could put them through.
Overall they are great when I need a nice looking manicure that takes about 3 minutes to do and has no dry time. As well they are nice when my nails are split and broken past the quick, nothing I could do traditionally with nail polish could ever make my nails when in that condition look good and these do.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

As a novice when it comes to nail I thought I would share with you the Impress Press On Nails that I just put on.

First off I watched their youtube video.
then I prepped my nails with their nail prep pad. So far this is easy enough for me.
Then I spilled out all 24 of the nails on my desk so I could begin laying out the 10 I would need.
To pick out your nails lay them against yours to see if they fit. It pretty much is a trial and error things. Small is better than bigger in this case.
I then peeled the backs and stuck them on. Pressed firm to make sure they stuck.
Ok, so there you have it, it took about 4 minutes to do.
So what do  I think? Easy and they look good when on. I personally don't like this crackle pattern, it just doesn't suite me in 2013/2014. I also find there is a bit of jagged part under the middle of the tip of the nail.  So far they are the easiest of all the press on nails I have ever tried

I received this product complimentary for testing and review purposes from Influenster, it does not reflect my views of the product.

Nail art is all the rage and to celebrate L'oreal Paris Canada's first ever venture into nail art they held a mini workshop for some beauty bloggers. I was so lucky to attend.
First up we got to learn about all the new products being launched, secondly our host, the fantastic Tam Bachik gave us some trend updates and finally he taught us some tips and tricks to helping us obtain the perfect red carpet nail.
Nail Lingerie:
Nail Lingerie are stick on nail art sheets, L'oreal's happen to all be more accents then full coverage stickers, hence the lingerie.

Top Coats:
The eaisest way to transform a nail polish and make it nail art is a nail art top coat. We got to see three in person, Confetti, Matte and Gold Carat.
Press-On Couture:
These come in  8 varieties that are super flexible for anyones nails. The best part, if you ask me, is the patterns. Nothing too over the top but just some great options and colour combos.
I love that with the pink they are mainly all the same and a few that are reversed so you can play up the nail art more if you want to.

New Shades:
Finally there were some great new shades, with new brushes...that I am in love with.

On to the workshop. These were the cute little setup we got to work with, 16 shades hanging out on our table, 8 new, 8 already in the collection, the Nail Lingerie and 3 new top coats.
So I learned some new tips and tricks to applying nail polish.
1. Wait for the layers to dry before applying the next one. Now that just sounded obvious, but you really want to let all the layers let their solvents evaporate to prevent bubbling or that dreaded soft nail (you know, 2 hours later and you can still dent you nail polish, that is why it happens! Who knew?).
2. If you have more flat nails apply with the brush more upright. If you have curvy nails apply it with the brush more vertical so the brush can curve to the nails shape.
3. Take an art brush or an old eye liner brush and wipe around your nails with it and some nail polish remover. This will clean it up nice and make your nails look more polished (also if you do it before your top coat it will give you lots of time to let the layers dry).
4. When applying the Nail Lingerie, pick a sheet just slightly wider then your nail. Our nails curve so they are wider then they look.

So what did I create?
I used Greyt Expectations withConfetti Top Coat. I love the grey, I love the confetti, I feel like I have mini egg nails and love it.
I also managed to create a red look. I used He Red My Mind with the Matte Top coat and The Gold Carat on the thumb and ring fingers
