Beauty Vixen

Summer is wrapping up, but while it is still here I thought I would do a light makeup look with some pink and purple in it. If that wasn't enough, I'm only going to use one brand, one of the best, Annabelle to create it.
What I used:

Foundation: Skin True in Natural Ivory
Powder: CC Colour Control Pressed Powder in Light/Medium*
Bronzer: Biggy Bronzer in Carabean Sun ( limited edition but the Zebra Bronzer is almost the exact same and just as big, plus it was recently voted the best bronzer in Canada under $21 by Elle Canada)*
Blush: Hazel
Eyeshadow: Quad Eyeshadow in Pink-A-Boo
Eyeliner: Kohl in Grapejuice
Waterline Liner: Smoothie in Grapefull*
Top Lash Mascara: Expandable*
Bottom Lash Mascara: InstaGlam in Psychedelic (purple mascara, woot woot)
Lipstick: TwistUp in Fuchsianista
Eyebrows: InstaGlam Brow Design + Fix in Medium/Dark
 What I did:
I put on a base of the Skin True foundation and while it settled into my skin a bit I applied the eyeshadow quad.

I put the lightest shade in my inner corners and below my brow bone. I followed with the next lightest shade all over my eye lid area . In my outer V area and my crease I ran a bit of the next shade along it and blended it out (this is the left bottom shade). I then lined my upper and lower eyelids with Grapejuice kohl liner and then smudged some of the darkest shade over that for a softened effect. I followed with some more of the second shade along my lower lash line.

I used the Smoothie fat pencil in Grapeful in my lower waterline for a bigger pop of purple.

Finally I used the brow marker and gel on my brows, Expandable mascara on my top lashes and Psychedelic  (purple ) mascara on my bottom lashes.

I powdered met face all over with the CC powder, then bronzed and blushed. Then applied the Fuchsianista TwistUp.
I truly love Annabelle,  way back in the summer of 1994, I was first allowed to wear  makeup, I often chose Annabelle liners for my lips and my eyes. I've been pretty darn loyal for the last 20 years and I have to say the brand keeps on impressing me. I am really in love with the Skin True foundation, it is so light but not greasy, gives me just enough coverage (and I didn't even use a concealer).

I love their new Quads, Chai Chai Chai might be my favourite but that doesn't mean I don't adore this Pink-a-boo quad. It is just so blendable and the looks you can create with it are just so fun. The bright pink really makes it  a bold look.

Instaglam Eyeliner + Mascara touch-up
Eyeliner : Oversized marker-pen with a felt tin applicator designed for ultimate precision, control and versatility. The perfect tool to achieve thin natural lines to dramatic shapes in one stroke.
Mascara: Small brush for ultra-precise and flexible application, wrapping even the tiniest lashes. Perfect to intensify your look by using on lower lashes & last minute touch-ups. Curling and defining formula. Buildable texture. Ophthalmologist Tested.- annabelle.ca
The perfect duo for a bold eye look, if I do say so myself. I big felt tipped liner and a mascara in one package, what else does a gal need? Well if the answer is colour, they've got you covered there as well.
I am a huge fan of coloured mascaras, but they tend to come in trend waves and are not always easy to find all the time. Luckily for me the trend has returned (for now) and Annabelle has heeded the call with their new limited edition Instaglam Eyeliner + Mascara touch-up in Psychedelic (purple) and Abyss (blue). While I've never been crazy about blue mascara, I have always sought out and gone to extreme measures to get purple mascara. So I thought why not give them both a try.

Now sometime I see a coloured mascara, get excited and then quickly realize that after I've shelled out good money that they really aren't that coloured after all, they dry almost black. These are not that type of mascara at all, they are bold and stay bright when they dry.

Instaglam also comes in a black shade, which is permanent, but the colours are not, so hustle to the store and get them now.hassle

So without further ado here they are.

Abyss (blue):

Psychedelic (purple)

So as you can see the mascaras are quite bold and colourful. What I also have to say is they are great one the lower lash line and they don't flake. I really like the formulation.

The liner shouldn't be forgotten, it is a big fat marker with bold black liner inside. It lasts all day and
now onto the liner, it is the same black liner on all the colours, which is a fantastic black that glides on easy and has a fat felt tip applicator. I find it really easy to use and quite a wet formulation so I know it will not dry up quickly on me. It gives me the pen liner quality I expect from Annabelle. I do find the fat packaging a bit tying to use, but after a short while I got the hang of it.
So there you go, the new Annabelle InstaGlam Eyeliner and Mascaras in Psychedelic and Abyss. I love them, what do you think?

Annabelle InstaGlam Eyeliner + Macara  is available now at most mass retailers and drug stores across Canada, as well as Annabelle.ca.  Its suggested retail price is $12.99.

Time for yet another haul.
Essentially I couldn't help but go a little nuts at Shoppers Drug Mart in the last few weeks.

First off I got some Essence goodies.

I guess there is yet another Essence limited edition collection out, Cookies and Cream. I grab a blush (Cakepop, That's Top!) and a matte jumbo eyeshadow pencil (Last Night a Cookie Saved My Life). I also grab one of their regular lines eyeshadow pencil (Cute Copper).
Top: Cute Copper, Middle: Last Night A Cookie Saved My Life, Bottom: Cakepop, That's Top!
Next up is some Annabelle. Shoppers had a bonus points thing on with their new InstaGlam products. I really wanted the purple mascara/liner duo  (called Psychedelic) and the Brow Design + Fix in Medium/Dark.

Brow Design + Fix - Design side

Brow Design + Fix - Fix side
Liner + Mascara - Liner side (its black)
Liner + Mascara - Mascara side (its purple)
Finally, I caved. I got the Urban Decay Electric Palette
So there it is, my latest haul. I like everything I got so far.
