Orofluido Asia Zen Control is a hair care line intended of those who suffer from dry and frizzy hair. Specially fomulated with ingredients known in Asia to help tame frizzy hair due to humidity, this line smells great as well as feels great when you use it.

Tsubaki Oil helps with frizz control, it making the hair soft and manageable
(oh and shiny too). Bamboo Extract adds strength and elasticity to the hair. Finally Rice Oil helps nourish and smooth, preventing split ends and giving you hair that is soft and smooth.

The shampoo is slightly creamy and lathers richly. My hair never felt stripped or dry when using it (which is fantastic). The lather was very luxurious but not over the top, somehitng that just felt nourishing and rich. I feel I never need to much of it when I use it, a little goes quite far.

The conditioner has a pump ( a nice idea I would like to see in the shampoo too) so I never squirted too much out, which is always a good thing with me. It is rich and creamy, more on the thicker side. I found if I used too much my hair could be left feeling slightly heavy. When using it I try to keep away from my scalp to avoid that heavy feeling and it has been working out great for me. I really enjoy this conditioner.

The Elixir is a post washing oil that you add to towel dried hair. For the past few weeks it has been the only product I have been adding to my hair after washing it, my hair has been left so much more soft and manageable. Just don't over do it, that's my only warning about it (but that goes for all hair oils).

It also has the added benefit of being a treatment. If you put it quite a bit into your dry hair before bed and wash it out in the morning it can be a great pre-was oil. You can also leave it in for 10-20 minutes before washing if that is easier for you. Either way my hair really absorbed the oil well and always looked great after using it as a pre-wash treatment.

The Elixir bottle has a small opening in it, so you have to shake it to get it out, I always feel like I am trying to get malt vinegar on my fires when I do this since the bottle is made of glass and shaking really is the only way to get it out. I really like the quality and look of the glass bottle and would not change it at all.
Finally the mask is a great treatment for once or twice a week. I have such fried hair that I love a good mask. I found this one left my hair feeling really nice and nourished and not any heavier then the conditioner did. My hair is always really nice and manageable after using it.

Since my hair has been short it has gotten more wavy, and sometimes curly. I find that after working in the humid environment that I do I can get a lot of frizz surrounding the top of my head and that I can get out of control waves. Since I started to use the Orofludio Asia Zen Control line, my waves look better and that my hair is far less out of control though out the day. It has been an improvement to say the least.

I also enjoy the fragrance quite a lot, the Asian Zen Control line is supposed to speak to the whole experience of having your hair being done, so fragrance is a large part of it. My friend Kelly says it reminds her of Armani Code, which I am not familiar with, but I do enjoy the fragrance of these products quite a bit.

Have you suffered from Frizzy, Dry and/or Damaged hair? What type of products do you like to tackle those issues?

This winter has been cold, and I mean cold. In Toronto this February has been one of the coldest on record. Lucky fore me I discovered Palmers Olive Oil Formula line of hair care products at the end of last year. My hair has been feeling soft and hydrated all winter thanks to it.

Here are the products I've been using.
  • Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Smoothing Shampoo moisturizes and smooths frizzy hair, replenishes moisture and nutrients and removes product buildup. The balanced blend of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Hair Keratin Amino Acids and Vitamin E cleanses thoroughly and leaves hair softer, with a smoother texture, easier to style and healthier and stronger.
  • Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Replenishing Conditioner's incredibly rich formula smoothes out frizzy hair, increases moisture levels and softens tight curls. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is combined with Soybean Oil and Hair Keratin Amino Acids to protect the hair from environmental aggressors and hot styling tools. Hair becomes shinier with extra bounce, softer and less frizzy and easier to style.
  • Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Conditioning Spray Oil, a luxurious natural spray oil, helps condition hair and scalp with its special formulation of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Vitamin E. This easy to use spray oil is ideal for braids and weaves. -palmers.com
First off I want to say how impressed I am with the shampoo. As a former Co-washer shampoo is sometimes not always my thing. That being said, I love this shampoo. It is creamy and moisturizing, doesn't strip my hair at all. Plus because it removes product build up so well I feel my hair is left soft and bouncy even though it is such a creamy shampoo.

My hair is extremely damaged from decades worth of chemically treating it, I now have to be extra careful about what type of products I use on it. Luckily the conditioner is like a masque and when left on for a few minutes does the same work as one. My hair always feels so soft after I use it.

Together the shampoo and conditioner leave my hair soft, hydrated, conditioned and light and fluffy, which is to me extremely surprising considering its key ingredient is Olive Oil. I really wouldn't have thought the light and bouncy hair I got could have been achieved with such a rich combination of products.
top is the shampoo and the bottom the conditioner
Finally the Spray Oil, I prefer not to spray it directly into my hair, but squirt it into my hands and work it from the ends up. I tend to avoid my roots unless it is the weekend or I am experiencing some scalp dryness (which happens more in the summer for me). I feel as long as you don't go and use it in excess your hair will love it.
Final thoughts:
I love the conditioning results I've gotten with these products over the last few months. My hair really feels softer and less dried out.

Have you tried any of Palmer's hair care products? What do you think of them?

Finding the right hair oil for you can be quite the challenge. I've gathered a few that I adore and while I'm at it, they don't cost a whole lot.

1. L'oreal EverSleek Precious Oil Treatment:
EverSleek Precious Oil Treatment with Argan Oil from Morocco is infused with argan oil, sunflower oil and olive oil to heal, banish frizz and protect. This cocktail of natural oils instantly penetrates hair to condition and seal in smoothness. Hair is left sleek and shiny, without feeling weighed down or coated. -lorealparisusa.com
Promising to not just coat your hair, but to infuse it and over time reduce frizz and increase shine, this new oil is fantastic.  The argan oil softens and adds shine, the sunflower oil smoothes and the olive oil penetrates and conditions. I've already become quite the fan. It smells lovely and seems to work the magic it describes. Best of all, it wont break the bank. Retails for $14.99

2. The Body Shop Beautifying Oils:
LOOK GREAT, FEEL GOOD WITH OUR BEAUTIFYING OILS. USE ON BODY, HAIR AND FACE. OUR BEAUTIFYING OILS PROVIDE AN INSTANT MOISTURE AND GORGEOUS SHINE FROM HEAD TO TOE.  - thebodyshop.ca
These babies smell amazing. I love to use them on my skin but they are amazing for your hair too. The Body Shop suggests using it before washing your hair as a mask or into damp hair after being washed to tame it and add shine. Either way your hair is going to look and smell amazing. Regular price $14.00.

3. Marc Anthony Oil Of Morocco - Argan Oil Treatment

Daily, lightweight oil for strong, glossy, frizz-free hair. Whether your hair is curly, straight, thick or thin, this Argan Oil Treatment will become a daily staple in your beauty regimen. No matter what your style, your hair will always look its best when it is strong, healthy looking and shiny. -marcanthony.com
They recommend using a few pumps on damp hair and if your hair is really dry putting some in your hair every night. Personally I use it every night before bed. This is my just 'shy of being a serum' oil, so I often mix it with a pump of serum if I am putting it on wet hair. Usually sold for  $10.99.

L'oreal Paris Precious Oils Nutri-Sleek

The 1st universal treatment for your hair enriched with a rare blend of 6 precious flower oils. It can be used before shampoo as a mask, before styling or as an extraordinary finishing touch. It nourishes and protects hair, brilliantly shines and amazingly softens. Overall, sublime smoothing care for sumptuous hair with a silky finish. - lorealparis.ca
If you love a good thin hair oil, this is for you. I mean thin, because the constancy of it and the Colour Radiance oils are definitely lighter then the traditional oils, but I love that, and I bet you will too. They don't grease up your hair, they leave it light and the oils get absorbed quickly, which is nice too.  Retails for $9.99.

L'oreal Paris Precious Oils Colour Radiance
The 1st universal treatment for your hair enriched with a rare blend of 6 precious flower oils. It can be used before shampoo as a mask, before styling or as an extraordinary finishing touch. It nourishes hair and protects colour, brilliantly shines and amazingly softens. Overall, sublime colour care for a luminous finish. -lorealparis.ca
This oil I reviewed a while back, and 8 months after I started using it, I am just about done my first bottle. There is so much in here I just end up using it all the time. I love loading my hair up with it before washing (like a mask). As well when my hair feels really damaged it is great to just apply several times in the day. As I said in my previous review, I threw out my Moroccan oil because I loved this so much more. Retails for $9.99.

Here is one oil I hated!!!
Live Clean Exotic Nectar Argan Oil

Exotic Nectar Oil Treatment is a light-weight treatment that restores natural shine and lustre making hair silky and shiny without feeling greasy. - live-clean.com
ICK! That is all I have to say about this product. When I first started to use hair oils I thought I would try this one out, it was pretty cheap and I knew where to buy it. It was like a watery gel, nothing oily about it. It just made my hair feel sticky and icky. ...eww. Just thinking of it makes me mad. I did not like this one at all.

L'oreal Precious Oils come in two varieties to complement their already existing hair care lines, Nutri-Sleek and Colour Radiance. I've personally been using the Colour Radiance oil since late September and could not be happier.

Experience the first 5-in-1 miracle hair perfecter enriched with precious flower oils! Precious Oils is a versatile, non-greasy treatment for hair that nourishes before shampooing, protects & softens before styling, and provides shine as a finishing touch! -lorealparis.ca
They come in gorgeous glass bottles (seriously thick glass, it look really nice) that hold 100 ml of product, the best part is they retail for about $9.99 (I've seen them on sale for as little as $6.49). I'm not going to lie, when I first saw the glass bottles and the size of the product I really thought they must have mis-priced it, there was no way something that big and nicely packaged was going to cost me that little.

So as I said I've been using the Colour Radiance Oils for some months now and I cannot tell you how in love I am with it, but I am going to try. This product made me throw out my Moroccan Oil! No lie, I no longer use Moroccan Oil at all. I've moved on to this lighter and more useful oil (at about a 1/3 of the price).

I love that it can be used pre washing my hair as an oil treatment to protect my hair. I adore that I can use it on dry hair and feel like it isn't going to weigh it down. I use it wet after every washing of my hair, but to use it in the mornings on dry hair is amazing benefit too. I love the pump, I feel I am never going to overdose my hair again (or waist a lot of expensive product).

Did I mention it is cheap! At $9.99 I can afford to use this stuff everyday over and over again and load my hair up before washing it.
Pros:
  • Light texture that never leaves my hair greasy
  • Can be used as a pre treatment
  • Can be used wet or dry
  • It has a fantastic pump
  • It cost only $9.99!!!!
  • It protects my hair colouring
  • Smells great
  • Available at most drug stores and grocery stores
  • 100ml is  a pretty big bottle
Cons:
  • Often sold out!
Overall:

Ok so I think those are good enough reasons to try it out, at the very least it isn't much of an investment. Personally, I just love it and I am so glad there is a mainstream hair oil that is made for colour treated hair and is at an affordable price point.
The bottle I've been using/loving
