Beauty Vixen

It is full blown fall right now, and as much as I am enjoying my Pumpkin Spiced everything I am actually anxiously awaiting Gingerbread season. In the meantime, here are some items I am loving right now.

NYX Powder Puff Lippie in Puppy Love:
I picked this up at my Rexall in the spring and started wearing it pretty much non-stop this fall. It is a tube that comes out a sponge tip applicator that leaves a soft look on the lips. It has a strange powdery like texture to it that feels dry. It happens to be really pigmented too. Puppy Love happens to be a nice coral shade.

Dermalogica Barrier Defense Booster:*
I started using this baby in the winter, now that summer's humidity is gone I am reaching for it again. My skin gets dry quickly and can get chapped and red fast. A little of this booster and my skin is instantly soothed and less red. I just adore it. Funny note, I have been shaking this stiff bottle to get out the product for months only to learn the grey bottom is soft and you just have to tap it to get the product out. I feel so silly.

Joe Fresh Tinted Lip Balm:
I love this tinted lip balm, so when I learned Joe Fresh was leaving Shoppers Drug Mart and all the items were 75% off I stocked up. Don't worry, Joe Fresh beauty products aren't going anywhere, they just won't be in SDM anymore. I really love how silky the balms feel, their light scent and how pigmented they are. I recently got my mother in law hooked on them because she wanted something that was like a lipstick but sheer and hydrating.
Left to right: Pecan, Lychee, Spice, Macaroon and Blackberry.

L'oreal Brow Stylist Boost & Set:
L'oreal has never, ever let me down in the brow category, this product is no exception. I picked it up on sale at my local Shoppers and do not regret it one bit. I love this little bent wand, it helps me apply the brow mascara just where I want and not on my skin. The formula helps build up my brows while tinting them just right. I think I may pick up the shade darker next time I see it on sale

Guerlain Meteorites:
So you may have seen in the past that I love Guerlain's Meteorites. I often pick up limited edition versions and even have their perfume (it smells just like them). Lately, I have been trying to actually use them more often, so I have been finishing off my makeup every day with 01 Blanc De Perle. It mainly is white pearls. It adds a nice glow to my skin and smells amazing.

So there you go, five more items I am loving.

What are you loving this fall?

I love a good brow product, luck for me Mary Kay has just launched some new brow goodies to make me super happy.
Volumizing Brow Tint
This is a brow gel, but also something a bit different. It is more pigmented than the average gel plus it features fibres to help fill in gaps, it is actually pretty opaque. As a result, it fills in your brows, sparse patches and covers gray in just a swipe.
It comes with a small (but not micro) wand on it, but the handle isn't very long. This combined with the fact you get quite a bit of product on the wand means things can get a bit messy if a precision application is your end game. In the end, it really isn't too big of a deal, it just takes a little bit of getting used to. I have been wiping my wand before using it and actually bent it so I could get a better application.
I love how strong the pigment is and the range in shades. There are four shades, Blonde, Dark-Blonde, Brunette and Dark-Brunette. I personally have been using Brunette. I find Dark-Brunette a bit too close to black, it really should have been called Black-Brown and that there was a true Dark-Brunette instead. I do like that there is such a dark shade for those that have darker hair/complexions.
Precision Brow Liner
These are some well names brow liners, they are very fine and let you fill in just where you need it. They retract, which is really fantastic, it gives you the ability to know you're not going to be wasting it but also use as much as you need.
They come in five shades, Blonde, Dark-Blonde, Brunette, Dark-Brunette, and Black-Brown. I personally have been mixing it up between Brunette and Dark-Brunette.
Overall I am really loving both these products. The Brow Tint works really well in filling in my bald patches while covering my gray hairs and tinting my brows to go better with my coloured hair. The only downside is the applicator could be better, but nothing that doesn't take much to get used to.

The Precision Liner is great for when I want a more natural look, to fill in my bald patches and to match my hair. It is a more subtle look for sure and I really like it on my BB, mascara and tinted lip balm days.

Do you love brow products as much as I do? What do you look for in a good brow product?

Quo recently celebrated its 16th birthday. With this milestone came a whole new line of products. Today I am going to look at the brow products that they just launched.

Brow Wow Powder:

This is a powder brow product but it comes in a tube with a little doe foot type applicator tip. I've seen a brand or two offer products like this but never thought of it for me. Boy have I changed my mind. I love applying eyeshadow as my brow powder, but it is inconvenient at best. I need a brush and  a shadow and to be honest for travel that end up taking some space. This though is a mini tube that com acts the process into one item. I thought the powder would have a lot of fall out since it loose, but it doesn't. It seems to magically stick to my hairs. Now that I have greys hanging out in my brows it makes it even better. I got mine in the shade Taupe, not a shade I thought would suite me but it does. It is a much more light brown then taupe shade.
Eye Brow Powder Kit:

This my favourite item in the kit. I was actually quite shocked at how much I love it. You get two jars with sifters in them, one with a darker shade and one with a lighter. You also get an angled brush and spooly and a clear brow gel. Together you mix and match powders until you get your perfect brow powder. Its loose so you think it might be mess, but the lids do a good job for mixing. I usually sift a little of each into their lids and dab the angled brush back and forth until I feel I have a nice shade. I then swipe it through my brows. Followed by a brushing of the spooly side of the brush. I sometimes use the brow gel and sometimes I don't. Anyways I am loving it, I can go as bold or as tame as I want and I always get the shade I am looking for on that day.

Precision Brow Pencil:

This is one of those micro tine automatic eyebrow pencils with a nice tiny brush on the other side. There isn't to much to say about this one but I love it (shocking I know, I just love brow products). It is a firm pencil so it is great for when you are trying to fill things in or create some fine lines.  I got it in the shade Brunette. I find it a smiler shade to the Brow Wow in Taupe.

Double Agent:
Double Agent is a fat oversized pencil with two ends to it. It is designed to accentuate you brows and brighten your eyes. The Brow Lifter side goes under your brows (usually under the outer side after your arch) and can be blended in as a nice highlight that opens your eye up. It is a light pinky shade that really can make your brows look just great. The Eye Brightener side is meant to brighten your inner eye area. It is an off white she Both sides are really soft and easy to blend.
I currently love all these brow products, but then again I do have an issue where I must have all the brow products in the world....I don't quite know why, but they might be my favourite item to have.

I highly recommend you pick up at least one of these items, I can't suggest just one since I love them all, but also because everyone is so different in what they like. If you like a pencil the Precision pencil is fantastic, if you like powder, both the kit and the Brow Wow Powder are great buys. I think everyone can benefit from the Double Agent even on easy going days just to make the eyes pop just that little bit more.
Do you have a go to brow product that you just love?

Time for yet another haul.
Essentially I couldn't help but go a little nuts at Shoppers Drug Mart in the last few weeks.

First off I got some Essence goodies.

I guess there is yet another Essence limited edition collection out, Cookies and Cream. I grab a blush (Cakepop, That's Top!) and a matte jumbo eyeshadow pencil (Last Night a Cookie Saved My Life). I also grab one of their regular lines eyeshadow pencil (Cute Copper).
Top: Cute Copper, Middle: Last Night A Cookie Saved My Life, Bottom: Cakepop, That's Top!
Next up is some Annabelle. Shoppers had a bonus points thing on with their new InstaGlam products. I really wanted the purple mascara/liner duo  (called Psychedelic) and the Brow Design + Fix in Medium/Dark.

Brow Design + Fix - Design side

Brow Design + Fix - Fix side
Liner + Mascara - Liner side (its black)
Liner + Mascara - Mascara side (its purple)
Finally, I caved. I got the Urban Decay Electric Palette
So there it is, my latest haul. I like everything I got so far.
