Project Pan 2020 Update

By Thursday, April 16, 2020 , ,

I figured it might be a good time to do an update on my Project Pan 20 that I am doing this year.
It definitely hasn't gone as planned. I got the flu earlier in the year and it really put a set back on my makeup applications, and now I am in lockdown so I haven't been wearing any makeup at all.

My skincare, on the other hand, has been going ok, but not fantastic. I should be trying more to use them up but I lack motivation.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Lite:
I feel I made a bit of progress on this one. It might not have been so wise to choose a stick foundation for this project since I seem to gravitate to liquid more. The pinker side has definitely gotten some good use and the yellow a tad. I made some progress but not a ton. I may call it a day and toss this when my next update comes along.
I still like it and would buy it again, just not with the size of my current collection.
Mac Twig Lipstick:
I love this shade, why didn't I use it more before? It is great and I got a new lip liner that works with it (and the other lip products) so I have really been loving its look. Sadly I haven't worn anything in almost a month so not much product has been used up.

Nars Dolce Vita Lipstick:
This one also has been great. It is sheerer and lighter than Twig so it actually spent a lot of time in my purse for days I actually want to touch up my lips. I love the formula and the finish. Once again not a lot of wear recently so only a little got used up.

Joe Fresh Tinted Lip Balm in Spice:
This one has the least amount of progress. I wore it a bit early in January with lip liner and it was great, but right now I need more moisture on my capt lips so it hasn't gotten any wear at all. I do love the formula which is why I have four of these right now.
Milk Lip + Cheek in Werk:
I wore this on my cheeks every day I wore makeup, it was a great choice with my lipsticks, but not for my lips as it is so dry. I don't think I made too much progress but I am enjoying it and look forward to using it some more. I really like it on lazy makeup days with just a tinted moisturizer under it.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette:
This is my biggest regret for this project. I chose it over the Naked Basics 2 palette because it was discontinued, but the truth is it just makes everything I do with it look muddy. I actually pulled out 2 and started using it more. I may have to just scrap this from the project because it isn't working for me at all. That being said I did honestly use it a lot, just with other products too.
Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight:
I am a little disappointed I didn't use this up better, there wasn't a lot when I started and I feel I used it quite a bit. Oh well, hopefully, I can use it up by the next update.
Wet N Wild Photofocus Rose 3-in-1 Primer Water:
I love this so much, maybe its because I love rose, maybe because it leaves my makeup so nice when I am done. I just like it. I have about 5 uses left so I have done a good job using it up.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance:
Ok, this one is done. I just can't fight with the tube anymore and I like so many other primers more. It was just time to say goodbye.
I am choosing to replace it with Schwarzkopf BC Conacure pH 4.5m Color Freeze Spray Conditioner. I have found my hair to be damaged lately and I need to work on it while I am at home. I clearly like this because I have already used 1/3 of it up. It is great for repairing my hair and conditioning it, so let's hope I use it a lot.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer:
I used this a good amount in January and February because I was trying to just moisturize, conceal and go. I still love the formula but need extra hydration with it. I feel I have about 10 applications left.

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation:
So I still love this foundation, I used it quite a bit and it looks great on my skin. I fully suspect in I have about 6 more uses left in it, so time will tell if I actually use it up before my next update.
Guerlain Meteorites in 01 Blanc de Perle:
I used this every day for a month and a half and see no progress, but I do know the pearls are getting smaller because, well they have to be. I love this and am so happy I was using it more, the finish it gives my skin is great and I love the scent.
Hard Candy Sheer Envy Coconut Water Primer Stick:
This is a primer stick that is so hydrating and exactly what I need most of the year. I completely remember why it is I love it and why this is my second stick of it. I don't think I'll get through it any time soon since I don't need too much when applying.
Joe Fresh Translucent Powder:
I really haven't been using powder this year, my skin is just too dry. When I have I did use this powder and it has been great. I am in no way sure how much is left and how long this might take.to use up.
January 2020 products
Pixi Rose Tonic:
You can see from the level between the label I have actually used a lot of it. It was at the top of the label when I started the project. Unfortunately, I have gotten really lazy in the last few weeks. I love the idea of this toner and how it hydrated weightlessly. I am definitely getting back into the habit of applying it more often in several layers for hydration because darn my house is dry.
Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting Lotions (8% AHA and 2% BHA):
I was religiously using these but have since lapsed. I really like how by switching the AHA and BHA each day has benefited my skin. I am trying to start using them again. I have no clue how much is still inside but I would guess about half.
The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter:
This one got some good use. I love this stuff so much for melting off my makeup and SPF. It really is a great first cleanse. I stopped using it because I don't need to dissolve as much stuff off my face lately. I think this might be one of the best eye makeup removers.
Darphin Lumiere Essentielle:
Finally a product I used up! I had a modest amount of this lotion left so to use it up feels real good. I love how thick and rich it is. I hate the price tag so I will most likely never get it again. Once again....woot I used this baby up.
I am going to replace it with The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA for the project. I want to use it up and my skin likes it a lot. It is light but hydrating, which is what I need right now.
Fresh Rose Hydrating Gel Eye Cream:
I managed to use about half of what I started the project up. I just am not the best at being consistent with my skincare and eye cream is not my top priority at that. I do like this and hope to use it up by my next update.
Erno Laszlo Timeless Skin Serum:
I said in my first post that I didn't know how much was in here, well I used it up after two uses. Which felt good and silly. I liked it but I wouldn't buy it again because I like so many other serums.
I replaced the serum with Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum. It was pretty much full when I switched to it and as you can see almost done. It seems I really like serums. I chose this one because I had a pr sample and a friend gave me a bottle so to use one up would be a good idea.

So there you go, how the last 3 months have been on my Project Pan 2020. I really was trying! I cannot stress that enough. I felt awful when I got lazy in Jan and Feb because of how busy I was and how sick I felt, but I had just gotten back on track when society shut down. One thing I learned the last few weeks is not to be hard on my self, and I honestly think that has been my big learning point. So this project might not turn out how I want this year, but it really isn't a big deal, it is nothing in the scheme of things. Goals aren't always met in life and that is life.

So to quote the great Jerry Springer, take care of your self, and each other. xoxo.
