GE Shower Water Filtration System - Review

By Tuesday, January 18, 2011

A few years back my hair was disastrous. I never used a hair dryer, straightener, curling iron and only washed my hair 3 times a week at the most, so why was my hair dry and brittle, literally falling apart? Well the hard water was the culprit. My hair dresser said it must be the reason since I was doing everything else right.

Well I live in an apartment, which means installing a water softener system was not an option. I did a bit of research and saw on sephora.com some shower filtration systems that cost about $100 each. After getting over the shock of the price tag, I went on to finding the GE Shower water filtration system at home depot. I picked it and a new shower head up and have never gone back.

My hair got better, my skin got softer, my tub needed less scrubbing...it was a miracle. Oh, and my shower head stopped getting nasty mineral build up on it. Best $30 bucks spend on my apartment ever!

GE Shower Water Filtration System - $30.19 at Home Depot Canada
Once and a while I get a new filter and I stay happy. I am ripping this baby out of my shower when I move out later this week.
Replacement Filter -  $20.39 at Home Depot Canada
Overall:
It is a cheap way to  soften water in places that cannot get soft water treatments installed or where money is tight. I love it and would recommend getting it and trying it before shelling out the big bucks for the sephora models.
