A week ago much to my surprise, a box showed up filled with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Polishes. Woot woot, I was happy. I realized shortly after that Influenster sent them to me to participate in their latest VoxBox.
While I definitely am not a stranger to the Complete Salon Manicure formula (hey check out an old post featuring all my SH polishes that I had at the time) it has been quite a while since I picked up any new ones.
I was lucky enough to be sent Red My Lips, Jaded and Pat On My Black.
For me all these polishes went on extremely smooth and the brush might just be my favourite of all time. It really is hard to mess up your nails while using this brand's brush and formula. I also found it lasts longer than other polishes on me before it chips, this is a big surprise for me since after 24 hours my nails are always chipped and wrecked.
I'm glad I have some more to add to my collection for very much loved Complete Salon Manicure polishes.

- Red My Lips is a very true red. It is glossy and vibrant. Just that traditional perfect red nail colour.
- Jaded is a blue green shade that took a few coats to go on opaque and smooth. I needed three coats to make my nails look truly streak free.
- Pat On the Black is polish that looks black in the bottle (or almost black) but goes on a deep eggplant. Two coats and I was happy.
- Base Coat
- Strengthener
- Growth Treatment
- Color
- Top Coat
- Chip-Resistant
- Gel Shine
So pretty much you don't need a base coat, you don't need a top coat, you don't need a growth or strengthening treatment --this one bottle is all you need.

Pros:
- Great bottle - Love that rubber part for easy opening
- great colours, the limited editions and the regular line of colours are fantastic (there are 50 colours in the regular line)
- Great wide but curved brush for easy application and less strokes (I adore this brush)
- Great coverage - most shades take two coats to give you a great opaque look
- Shine - there is lots of shine in most shades - which means you can go without a top coat
- Easy to find at most drug stores and grocery stores
- Holds up to my crazy life better/longer than most polish - dish washing, washing dozens of dogs, cleaning, bashing my hands into things, etc.
Cons:
- Pricy for a Sally Hansen product - but not as pricy as Essie or OPI
- I still think you need a top coat for chipping
Overall:
I think this is a great polish line that you can pick up just about everywhere. The colours are always interesting and the limited editions have been legendary (Hidden Treasure anyone?). While I don't think you need a base coat with it for it to adhere well, I do think a top coat makes it last longer and keep it more vibrant. I do think compared to Sally Hansen's Extreme Wear line (when on sale you can get it for a buck) it is quite expensive but it still generally is about $8-$10 at most stores and there is always hope for a sale if you'd like to find it cheaper.For me all these polishes went on extremely smooth and the brush might just be my favourite of all time.
