Beauty Vixen

Holiday season is just about here and that means giving time period. I absolute adored the gift giving selection Mary Kay comes up with for the holiday season each year, these are some of my go to products for gifting and I thought I'd show you what they are offering this year
There are some new items and some returning limited edition items and some absolute favourites among it so Let's get started.

Satin Hands Peaceful Pampering Set Citrus Rose $55.00
Mary Kay's Satin Hands set is a must have for me, I haven't been without one in probably a decade. This holiday season their Citrus Rose scent is back for limited time. The limited edition set has 3 steps, Protecting Softener, Refining Scrub, and Nourishing Shea Cream as well as cotton gloves. While I love the Citrus Rose scent, the set is also available during the holiday season in White Citrus and Fragrance-Free.
Mint Bliss Energizing Lotion for Feet & Legs & Holiday Socks /3 fl. oz. / $16.00
After my hands, my feet are my most important thing for me to take care of in the winter, Mary Kay's Mint Bliss lotion is just great for them. I've been using it since last holiday season and it leaves my feet so soft. It is a light but nourishing lotion that has a light minty scent that feels and smells amazing. This holiday season they've bundled up with a free cozy pair socks. I like to lotion up my feet and legs right  before putting them on, in the morning my feet feel so much softer.
Silkening Dry Oil 5 FL. OZ. / 147 ml $24.00
This is a limited edition body oil that helps keep the body smooth and soft while being lightweight. It has a scent that they are calling Peaceful Garden.
Top Notes: Fresh Cut Stems, Bergamot, Cilantro, Muddled Spearmint
Middle Notes: Peony, White Tea, Violet Leaves, Water Lily
Bottom Notes: White Woods, Oak Moss, Musk
I really like this scent, it plays well on my skin. In addition to that I really love how the oil feels on my skin post shower or bath. It is just so soft and lightweight, all the while being hydrating.
Masking Minis / 1.2 oz each  / $20.00
Pampering yourself or others during the cold holiday season is a must, it just is so hard on our skin. Mary Kay has you or you loved ones covered with their Masking Minis, its a duo of two of their most popular face masks. TimeWise Moisture Renewing Gel Mask is a mega hydrating mask that helps soothe dry and chap skin.. ClearProof Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask deep cleans skin and reduces shine and has a gentle cooling sensation (it's the rosemary and peppermint in it). This limited edition set is great because you could break it up and give it as two gifts of give it all at once to someone, or like me keep it for yourself.
Men's Hair and Body Wash Gift Set $30.00
One of my favourite items for holidays past from Mary Kay was this set. It has two fantastic men's Hair and Body washes that my hubby really loved, True Original and MK High Intensity Ocean
Shower all the guys on your list with this scent-worthy set of multitasking hair and body washes and a little mesh drawstring bag.

Both body wash scents aren't available outside this collection, so it is the only time to grab them.

Men’s Fragrance Gift Set .25 fl. oz. each $39.00
Speaking of great gifts for men, this limited edition trio of scents makes for a perfect gift. You get CityScape Cologne Spray, MK High intensity Cologne Spray and MK High Intensity Sport Cologne Spray. Currently this is the only way you can get MK High Intensity in any format.

I personally think it is the perfect gift for any family member who likes these kinds of scents, last year I gave it to a friend and he really liked them all.
• Cityscape® Cologne Spray

Just like the men's set, this is a great trio perfect for gift giving. You get Dream Fearlessly Eau De Parfum, Love Fearlessly Eau De Parfum and Live Fearlessly Eau De Parfum.  The three scents were inspired by Mary Kay Ash. Perfect for travel or even just at home, they spritz bottles are great (because I hate roll-ons) and they last a long time being Eau De Parfums.

Last year I gave this to my mother in law for Christmas and she loved it!

Bold set shown
I'm very much in love with these lippies, they are just so darn pretty!!! I also love them as stocking stuffers, you can toss one into a stocking or wrap a pack up as a gift.
Highlight Brush & Contour Sponge Set $18.00
This is a cute little brush and sponge set, the perfect gift for any makeup lover in your life. The set has a mini Highlight Brush, brush guard and mini Contour Sponge. My one niece is just getting into makeup for fun, and I totally remember that stage of my life, I think of how cool it would have been to have gotten brushes like this at that age. I also just adore Mary Kay's brushes, they are some of my favourites to use.
So there you go, all the limited edition products that Mary Kay has available this holiday season. I personally love all of them and think they would make great gifts.

Since the holidays are fast approaching I thought it might be time to talk about a gift that might be perfect for the man in your life, Manscaped The Perfomance Package.

Manscaped is a cheeky brand known for its clever word play and being the official sponsors of the UFC and The 49ers as well as being on Shark Tank.

The brand has launched its first 'above the belt' trimming tool, the Weed Whacker. It is a nose and ear trimmer. The Performance Package takes the Weed Whacker and adds it to its already popular  Perfect Package 3.0. Today I am going to take a look at this set that makes the perfect holiday gift.

THE PERFORMANCE PACKAGE

What you get in the package
-Weed Whacker / ear and nose hair trimmer
-The Lawn Mower 3.0 / waterproof trimmer
-Crop Preserver
-Crop Reviver
-Magic Mat
Plus free
-Shed / travel bag
-Anti-chafing boxers

Now that we know what is in it let's break it down and give it a review.

THE LAWN MOWER 3.0

This is the star product in the Manscaped line up. It is the third generation of their clipper. It features their SkinSafe technology to prevent nicking sensitive skin. It has a 600mA li-ion rechargeable battery that lasts about 90 minutes so you can get even full body shaving jobs done. It also features a slim and light weight waterproof deign. Finally it has an adjustable guard that has two lengths. There also is a little stand that you can use if you want for charging and storing.

Since we are talking body trimmers, this is already going to get TMI, so why not go all out here. Mr. Fox is a hairy guy, very hair, so he often shaves his chest and privates and requires me to shave his back. So I am going to compile this review from what feedback he has given me plus my own from using it on him.

I love that this is a light weight clipper, it is small enough for my tiny hands, but doesn't slip around. It is light weight so my hand doesn't get tired quickly. In addition to all this it glides along the skin so nicely that I have never had such an easy time clipping his back. His previous trimmer has a metal flat area that goes along the skin and as a results skips...a lot, and that can hut. This clipper has plastic along that area making it slide along the skin and cuts that hair easily. It is by far the best clipper I have ever used on his back.

Mr. Fox says it isn't as sharp as his previous clippers, but it works quick and it seems much safer. He also really liked that you can order replacement blades, something other clippers don't offer.

WEED WHACKER

This is an ear and nose hair trimmer. It has 360° rotary dual-blade system, a 9000 RPM motor, waterproof capability and a 600 mAh li-ion battery. It also has the same charger as The Lawn Mower so you can save some counter space if you just use one charger. You can even replace the blades as it wears out.
Mr. Fox has really been enjoying this one. Since hitting 40 hair kind of starts popping up in strange places, so it has become incredibly handy. He usually use it after trimming his beard and says it clips really well.

Crop preserver

This is an anti-chafing 'ball deodorant'. It is a talc like gel that contains no talc that helps keep privates, body parts and pits from sweating and chafing. With aloe vera, tapioca starch and triglycerides it helps keep you dry and smelling great. It has a residue free and oil free texture that helps protect sensitive skin.

Mr. Fox works in hot conditions and likes to work out too, so this has come in pretty handy for keeping him from chafing and getting uncomfortable. He really likes how it feels and despite the strange concept really likes it and how it works.

CROP REVIVER

This is a toner spray meant for your balls. Made with aloe and witch hazel it helps keep your privates cool and from flaring up after shaving....essentially after shave for your boys.

Mr. Fox thought it felt really neat, it gave a cooling effect while stopping any razor irritation that sometimes can happen after shaving.

You also get with the kit:

The Shed, which is a faux leather grooming bag. It  has a handle and a sturdy zipper while being water resistant. It managed to fit all the tools with no problem for easy storage. It is a top quality bag.

Boxers, these are anti-chafing boxer briefs.

Magic Mat, these are disposable mats (you get 3) for doing your grooming on. You can collect the hair and dispose of it with ease. In reality they are just a little newspaper, so it is fun and cute but not a necessity. They certainly add a bit of charm to the set.

Overview:

Overall I think this is a great set and so does Mr. Fox. We both love the clipper and nose and ear trimmer. The additional products that are included are a nice touch that round out the kit and make it bit more special and they all work well. We both think it makes a great gift.

There is one con, we both with there were a bit more guard options for the Lawn Mower. Other than that it is pretty much a perfect set.

You can pick up any of the Manscaped items over on their Canadian website (ca.manscaped.com) or amazon.ca. Right now for the holidays you can save 20% on their site by using the code GIFT.

Mary Kay is known for great limited edition collection, this holiday season is no exception. Filled with excellent gifts for the holidays, this collection is quite a good one.
Mad About Masking / $30
This one must have been popular last year because it is back. It is a set of four single use face masks in a cute little box.
  • Miss Pore-fect: The absorbing properties of clay leave your skin looking mattified and shine-free.
  • Energy Queen: Start your day with an uplifting mud mask that features Japanese green tea extract.
  • Lady Serenity: Soothe skin with a cream mask that treats with aloe vera extract and provitamin B5 (panthenol).
  • Dewy Gal: Get a glow before your big night out with the hyaluronic acid, glycerin and vitamin E from this moisturizing gel mask.
These cute set is perfect for stockings, pre-teens or teens or anyone who loves skin-care.

Hand Cream and Lip Balm Set / $21
Winter is hard on our hands and lips, which is why this gift set is a perfect gift for just about everyone on your list. In three scents there is something for everyone.

The lotions are luxurious and incredibly hydrating, prefect for these cool months. The lip balms are equally hydrating and feel smooth on the lips while smelling incredible.
  • Coconut Mousse: Light, airy and oh-so-enticing. Features notes of airy coconut, jasmine petals and rich cacao. A perfect present for the sassy sophisticate.
  • Berry Parfait: Dreamy, creamy and fresh. Features notes of pink strawberry, raspberry and vanilla absolute. An ideal gift for the romantic dreamer.
  • Citrus Sorbet: Sparkling, sweet and full of zest. Features notes of bergamot, apple blossom and amber. A delightful choice for the lively free spirit
The Iconic Lip Vault / $60
Mary Kay's lipsticks have become some of my favourites the last few years. The gel formula is amazing as is the colour payoff. Now you can gift (or gift for yourself) a trio of classic shades packed in a very giftable tin. The tin has a cute little drawing of three women with the three shades of their lips. As I am a sucker for tins I really like it.

    Shades include:

    • Gel Semi-Shine Lipstick in Raspberry Ice
    • Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick in Mauve Moment
    • Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick in Crushed Berry
Men’s Hair and Body Wash Gift Set / $29
This set is perfect for the man in your life. With two travel sized men's hair and body washes and a cute mesh bag set is super handy for those that want to try something new.
Both scents are not normally available in hair and body wash which makes it a bit more special. True Original is a fresh and clean scent with lemon and Fuji apple top notes and amber and cedarwood middle notes and pinch of patchouli. High Intensity Ocean is a citrus-marine scent that has Italian bergamot, green mandarin, sea mist accord as top notes, nutmeg and geranium and water fruits as its middle notes and tad bit of patchouli and oak moss. This is my by far my favourite scent for my hubby and unfortunately it was limited edition, so this is pretty much my only chance to get some more of it in my life.

Mini Blending Sponge Set / $16
Who doesn't love a good sponge set? I know I do. This little set has four mini sponges in an ornament. Two tear dropped shaped sponges and two with an angle to them. Meant for wet or dry application. I love these shapes in their full size so minis are equally exciting to me.
Mini Essential Brush Set / $18
Another great stocking stuffer is this brush set. It comes with a little case and 3 miniature eye brushes (eye shadow, eye blender and detail brush/eyeliner). The brushes are tiny but great quality, and pink...can't forget the pink.
So there you go, some limited edition Mary Kay goodies that are great for the gift giving season, but also great for you to treat yourself with too. I really like the idea of giving any of these to a loved one and think they make great co-worker gifts too.

Christmas is almost here, but if you are anything like me you probably still have some gifts to buy. Today I am going to talk about some great stocking stuffers or value gifts you can easily find and pick up.

All these items are from FarleyCo, a great Candian distributor of beauty products, they can be found on their site but also many great stores like Rexall, London Drugs, Walmart and others. Check out FarleyCo.ca to find out where each brand is sold.

Flexitol Very Dry Skin Cream ($12.99):

Dry skin is all around this time of year, and I think I can fairly state that everyone would appreciate a little bit of extra skin cream in their lives.

I personally wash dogs for a living and then dry them, my skin gets dry and chapt and well frankly bleeds. One thing my skin cannot handle is fragrance this time of year or added water, which is why Flexitol's Very Dry Skin Cream is so great.

It is thick and a little goes a long long way, all the while being made for very sensitive skin that is reactive. It has 12.5 Urea in it, which is known to aid those with extremely dry skin. Safe for those with Eczema, Psoriasis, Dermatitis and just winter itchy skin this stuff is amazing I highly recommend trying it out. Oh, it also isn't greasy.

EcoTools Start the Day Beautifully Kit ($18.99):

With an eco outlook to their brand, EcoTools is one of the best brush lines out there. They always have great sets and kits that make for great gifts. This year their STart the Day Beautifully Kit caught my eye.

With 5 brushes (angled foundation, blurring, defined crease, angled liner, full blush brush) it has everything you need for your whole beauty look as well as a great tray to store them in and look cards to help you create the perfect look.

I think this set is the perfect gift for anyone who just doesn't' know where to start with makeup and brushes or a teenager. I remember getting my first brush set from my mom when I was 16 for Christmas and it started a love affair that has never ended. At $18.99 it makes a great stocking stuffer too.

    7th Heaven Masks ($1.99+):
I love a good face mask, and I can almost be certain that your loved ones do too. 7th Heaven makes fantastic masks in pouches that mean you can pick up one or a few for everyone whos stocking you need to fill. They are easy, fun (I mean look at that packaging) and they are great quality. Since they are individually wrapped, they never dry out, get oxidized or get contaminated by our fingers, making, plus you can try out a who bunch of different one at a very low without committing to a large container, all at reasonable price point.

I have the Pink Guava Peel-Off one here, but I have in the past I have used their mud sheet masks and even foot ones. My hubby always loves a good peel-off mask, so this one is a great one to toss into his stocking this year.

    Mesmoreyes Full 3D Lashes ($6.99):
Lashes are fun and always a welcome addition to my life, so if I like to get it I like to give it. Mesmoreyes Full 3D Lashes have multi-layered lashes for a 3D effect. They also have a bunch of different shapes available with handy eye shape descriptions so you can get the right fit for your lashes (or your loved one).
I really love Mesoreyes' lashes, they are fantastic quality at a good price. Plus clear bands are what I love so I love these (naturally).
    Real Techniques Mini Brushes ($8.99):
I love REal tEchniques, this should be no surprise to you. I have so many of their brushes, sponges and sets, all of which I love. Their Miracle Sponge is my ride or die sponge, you will be prying that from my dead hands one day. That being said RT has some great mini brushes for the holidays. I have the Mini Medium Sculpting Brush here and it is adorable.

So it is tiny, which automatically makes it adorable, but it is also just as good as the full-sized versions. There also is an Expert Mini Face and Mini Multitask Brush. Pop one of these into a stocking and I am sure you are going to hear an AWWW because it is so darn cute.

So there you have it, some fun beauty stocking stuffer ideas. I personally would love to get any of them in my stocking this year.

What do you love to find in your stocking?
