I recently saw a bunch of new Hard Candy Products at my local Walmart. Naturally I bought a bunch of items.
CC Colour Correcting Tinted Moisturizer Stick in Porcelain:
Improve the look and texture of your skin with one stroke of CC Stick, a multi-benefit formula. The marbled purple and green center-core helps even-out skin tone by reducing red sallow skin while the foundation provides buildable coverage for a flawless complexion. -hardcandy.com
I love my Maybelline Fit Me Stick, so I was drawn to this right away. The core is a strange blue and green shade that in no way shows when applied. The porcelain shade is just right for my skin tone. It is thick and rich but blends well. I think I am really going to like this product this summer for some fuller coverage looks.
So Baked Contour Trio in 3rd Wheel:
Illuminate, contour and highlight with So Baked Sculpting Trio for a healthy looking, captivating glow. The baked trio includes a luminizer for highlighting cheekbones, a satin-finish blush for cheeks and a glowing bronzer that helps contour and define. -hardcandy.com
I love the regular so baked bronzers in Tiki and Hula Hula, so when I saw this I had to grab it. The same great bonzer is combined with a very pretty blush and an amazing highlighter. Overall it reminds me of the shades in the Mac Wonder Woman Bronzer.
Glamoflauge Lite Duo Concealer in Ultra Light:
Cover blemishes, scars and all other imperfections with the ease of Glamoflauge Lite. The blendable, double-ended concealer stick comes with two different colored tips for customizable color combinations, allowing you to achieve the perfect skin-tone match. -hardcandy.com
I have the original Glamoflauge, and while I liked both the pencil and the liquid that comes in it, I do find it a bit much for everyday and around the eyes. This baby is amazing, it is CRRRREAAAMMYYY, and the two shades work amazing together. One is more yellow and one more orange, together they are amazing. I definitely am already in love.
So those are my first impressions, I in no way regret buying any of these. Here are some swatches:
So naturally I went to Mountain Equipment Co-op and went nuts. Now for those of you that don't know MEC is a great Canadian outdoorsy store that sells so many amazing things and at great prices.
I ordered some things online and grabbed a few in store.
Cactus Creek Travel Wallet $12. This is a hidden wallet meant for camping or traveling. Since I am going to Europe I thought it might be wise to bring this along to hide my money.
Chaos Multi Tubular Headware $12. This essentially is a fancy tube headband. It says it has lots of uses, I just liked the colour.
I realized after I got it I had a black and white bandana patterned one exactly like it from Ardene. I am glad I got this though, it is neat and pretty.
Nike Hat $24. I really like this hat, which is odd. So I got it, nothing like a good hat in the summer time.
Nalegine Bottles. Small $0.65large $2.40. These just seemed like a wise idea for toiletries.
Gear Ties $3.00. I got these because Sonia Travels pretty much told me to get them. They seem great for my cords and other annoying things while traveling.
GoTubb: These little containers pop open and Sonia Travels says they are great for lotions. I trust her on this. Sadly I can't find them on MEC site.
So that is it…I got some goodie, spent some money. I am happy with my choices.
I have lots and lots of goodies from this month that I used up.
Ombra Spa Aromatherapy Foambath: I got this from a client last christmas. It lasted quite a while and created a really nice bath. Nice bubble and great lavender smell. Would I buy it again? Yes, I really like this bubble bath, you don't need to much for a great bath.
L'oreal EverStrong Conditioner: I love this conditioner, it is rich and does a great job of repairing my damaged hair. It also smells great. Would I buy it again? Yes, once I use up some of my existing conditioners I will pick this up again.
Aveda Pure Abundance Shampoo: I got this sample a while back, and while I don't have oily hair I did find this was a great shampoo. Would I buy it again? Would I buy it again? Probably not, I like the Shampure a bit more and since I don't have oily hair it isn't the best choice anyways.
The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body Butter: I had to toss this one, it stated to smell off. Would I buy it again? I would buy their body butters again, but sadly the Sweet Lemon line was discontinued so I can't buy it again.
The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Wash: I polished off this little guy off fast. Would I buy it again? Yes, Satsuma is a favourite of mine, but I have a few more bottles in my stash before I can buy more.
Beauty So Clean Brush Cleaner in Gingerbread and Candy Cane: I got these a long time ago, and finally chose to start using them up. I really liked how they cleaned my brushes and how good they smelt after being clean. Would I buy it again? Yes, I quite liked them, maybe next IMATS I'll get more. ELF Studio Daily Brush Cleaner: This has been hanging on my shelf forever. I never really liked the bottle and I didn't personally love the stuff. Would I buy it again? No, it is now sold in a much smaller bottle. I would be better off just putting rubbing alcohol and some water in a squirt bottle.
Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush: I got this in a Glossy box, and well hated it. The stick wasn't actually attached into anything and just bounced around. It was waxy and smelled bad. It was time to toss it. Would I buy it again? NO!!! ELF Studio HD Powder: I finally used this up! I have had it for years and years. It really was two containers put together so I feel the feat is even more impressive. Would I buy it again? Yes, I recently purchased the yellow version of it. It is a great product at a very good price. ELF Studio Flawless Finish Foundation: I loved this and so when I used my old one up I bought it again, well this one is yellow. I guess it got old really fast since I haven't even had it a year. I am pretty mad at how yellow it is really. Would I buy it again? No, I am not waisting my time with it again, which is a shame since my first bottle was so great. B Kamins Maple Body Lotion: I got this in a glossy box and chose to toss it into my purse. It got used up really fast that way. It wasn't big but it was a nice lotion. Would I buy it again? No, it was pricy and I wouldn't know where to buy it now. ELF Mascara: I got this at a dollarama for my $20 makeup challenge. It actually is good, but it became hard so it was time to toss it. Would I buy it again? Yes, both the waterproof and regular sides are really good and it is cheap. Benefit That Gal: I got this tiny tube in a set a long time ago. It makes for a great illuminating primer. Would I buy it again? Yes, I have another little tube that I opened when this one was finished.
Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Spa Masque: I love these mud sheet masks, it really makes spoiling myself mess free. Would I buy it again? YES! I have some more on standby but I think I will always buy some MJ masks, they are great.
Tea time!
I finished off a bunch of David's Teas, I love tea.
Goji Pop: I like this as an iced tea Would I buy it again? Maybe, while I really liked it the hubby just didn't so I might not buy more since I like to share pitchers of tea.
Organic Cold 911: This is my favourite tea when I get sick. Would I buy it again? Yes, I already got a big tin of it and I plan on keeping this travel one and bringing it to work with me next time I get sick.
Birthday Cake: This is a great tea if you have a sweet tooth. I like making a latte with it Would I buy it again? Yes, I already got another large tin of it.
Cherry Blossoms: This was a sweet but tasty tea that was nice in the colder months Would I buy it again? yes, I think it was a seasonal tea so I might have to wait a while.
Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait: I don't like rhubarb, not one bit, but the hubby loves it, and he loves this as an iced tea. Would I buy it again? Yes, I already got him a big tin of it, so he is happy.
Cream of Earl Grey: I like Earl Greys ok, not a ton, but the hubby loves it. So in order for me to continue purchasing teas for me I buy him teas. It is a fair trade off. He likes this as a London Fog (latte) Would I buy it again? Maybe, I got him another tin this size, when we are done that we might just switch to regular Earl Grey since he likes it more.
A daily natural moisturizer for the face, skin, hair, nails and cuticles -rexall.ca
Last year Rexall launched their in house brand last year and with it an Argan oil line. Last fall while it was on promo I picked up a bottle of their Argan Oil Moisturizer. It boasts that its only ingredient is 100% Organic Argan Oil. That's it, no other ingredients tossed in there.
the bottle
So what do you get with the bottle? 50 ml of Argan oil from Morocco, that's what. It comes in a tinted bottle to prevent UV damage to the oil and an eye dropper. That's really about it. Now I find it smells a bit nutty but nothing I cannot stand. Not much else to say.
the dropper
So how do I use this stuff? Well I mix a few drops in with my hand or body lotion if I think it needs a bit more of a boost. I'll put some into my wet hair like I would with Moroccan Oil, or I mix a bit in with my gel or hair cream for a bit softer and moisturizing effect on my hair. My cuticles love it too!
oil in my hand
So that is really it, right now it is on sale at Rexall for $11.99 so I highly recommend you get it. If you don't well the regular pice is about $16.99 so you still can't go wrong.
