Influenster MysteryBrand VoxBox

By Sunday, February 09, 2014 , , , ,

Early last week I received this in the mail.

Exciting. A VoxBox from Influenster but this time it was filled with hair care products from an unknown brand. Ekk. I love a good mystery.

My job is to try it out and take a guess at which of L'oreal's 25 brands the products could be from.

What I know about the products:
There is a shampoo, it looks creamy and slightly yellow-white in shade. There is a conditioner, it looks the same. Finally, there is a Split-End Serum too, and hey it looks the exact same too.

They all contain Cupuacu Butter and Phyto-Keratin - That is all I know about these little bottles, that and they are from one of many L'oreal brands. So the mystery begins.

First off what are the Brands?
List of L'oreal Brands (source):
  1. - L’Oréal Paris
  2. - Garnier
  3. - The Body Shop
  4. - Kiehl’s since 1851
  5. - L’Oréal Professionnel
  6. - PureOlogy
  7. - Kérastase
  8. - Redken
  9. - Matrix
  10. - Shu Uemura Art of Hair
Above are all the brands L'oreal makes that have hair lines to them.

Ok so now I have some brands to work with.

Top 5 Brand Guesses:
  1. L'Oreal Paris - either their Ever line (Ever Strong, Ever Sleek, etc) or a line like the Hair Expertise
  2. The Body Shop - Really thinking about this one. The Phyto-Keratin makes me think it might not be their ideal market but the Cupuacu Butter makes me think "The Body Shop?"
  3. L'Oreal Professionnel- It just generally reminds me of the brand and it works extremely well
  4. Kérastase - same reasons as the L'Oreal Professionnel, works really well and has lots of science behind it. Phyto-Keratin really is making me think Kerastase.
  5. Garnier - I can't discredit Garnier, they always have really good hair care at good prices.
My initial thoughts:
Worked really well in my hair, left it super soft and light and soft...SOFT! Sorry, my hair is continually in a state for friedness. Just ruined all the time, and this winter has not been kind to it. I was very pleasantly surprised to feel how soft and strong my hair was after just one use. I felt smoother and just generally softer. I also really liked that the shampoo was creamy, that is always a good sign for dry or damaged hair. The fragrance was really nice too, more of a herbal scent.

My final guess:

I am guessing one of two L'Oreal Paris sub brands, the Ever line or Hair Expretise.
When thinking Ever I think EversStrong, but it doesn't match its Rosemary Mint scent, so maybe a new line?
When thinking Hair Expertise, I am convinced it is this new product I saw on instagram:

You see it? Total Repair Extreme! I love Total Repair 5 and strongly think it might be this product.

Ok so there are my two guesses....what do you think? Next week I'll be receiving the full sized products and know the brand for sure, in the mean time all I know is I really like the products.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
