Favourite Skin Care Products
Although I am constantly trying new skin care products, I keep on popping back to some of my favourites over and over again.
1. Mac - Care Blends Essentials Oil - Sweet Orange + Lavender:
This also comes in Grapefruit + Camomile, but I hate the smell/taste of grapefruit so I've stuck with the lavender. Not only does it sooth the skin with the calming ingredients it intensely moisturizes. I love this come the fall and winter to mix with my moisturizer in the morning and a few drops before my night time moisturizer.
2. Makeup Forever - HD Elixir
A few drops of this stuff onto your skin will boost the moisture to the skin by over 520% after 15 minutes and after 6 hours the moisture levels at over 175%. It is weightless and instantly makes the skin soft and moisturized. I love this in the summer before my makeup, but will be using it all winter to prevent my skin from getting dried and chapped in the winter chill and wind.
3. Mac - Cleanse Off Oil
This has been favourite of mine for a long time. It removes all the makeup, dirt and grime from my skin without drying it out. Apply on dry skin and massage all over, then wet your hands and rub some more, then wash off. I love that it is a soap free option to cleansing my skin and I also find it doesn't dry out my skin or irritate it.
4. Avon - Anew Reversalist Night Renewal Cream
I've been using this for about a year with the day time version, but the night time one I cannot live without. There is just something about the way this works on my skin that I love. The day time one is ok, I have more daytime options for lotion than I know what to do with, so I am not so in love with it, but the night time is by far the best I've used in a long time. My skin is very dry so this might not be the best for most people, but I just love how smooth and dense it is on my skin.
5. Marcelle - 1st Wrinkles Eye Contour Cream
I got one of these to try out from Chickadivsor.com and fell in love. I have about 5 eye creams in my drawer right now, but this is the first one I've finished and re-bought in about 2 years. I love how light it is on the skin and how great it is around the eye area.
6. Face Wipes
I go though face wipes like there is no tomorrow! I usually wipe my face in the morning with them, I also often use them after the gym or work. I was using Mac's wipes for the longest time (plus they are back to macable), but recently I started getting Balea brand wipes because I liked the resealable tub and the inexpensive refills. This last time though I made the mistake of thinking that since Equate (Walmart's brand) came in the same packaging that they would be the same wipes (most generic brands are the same so I thought it would be the same in this case). I still like them but they have little dots all over them instead of the pillow effect of the Balea ones. I doubt I will be buying the Mac ones again any times soon, the cost of refills for Balea and Equate is just far superior (when on sale about $8 for 120 refills) and I find them softer on my skin and less oily.
